Séjour au calme

Nous avons choisi cette destination par pur hasard. Très belle découverte. Nos hôtes Yvonne et Paul sont charmants, très accueillants et sympathiques. Toujours disponibles et très discrets. Le cottage est très agréable et l’endroit très calme. Un peu loin de chez nous mais très envie d’y revenir Gaëlle et Serge

Excellent for couples getaway

Great time, lovely pool and superb location. Yvonne and Paul really looked after us and we’re very helpful when we needed to do testing before return to Uk.

SEJOUR TRES AGREABLE

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, les hôtes sont très accueillants tout en sachant restant très discret. La location est spacieuse et agréable, les extérieurs sont propices au repos tant face à la piscine que dans le jardinet privatif. Nous recommandons cette location pour les personnes cherchant le calme et le repos. La location est bien situé pour visiter la région, de nombreux villages historiques dans les alentours.

Lovely stay at Les Costes

We had a lovely holiday at Les Costes cottage. The cottage was very cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. Our hosts were great! Really welcoming and helpful. The settings were beautiful! We loved the animals there, and our little baby loved the rescue donkeys. We would strongly recommend Les Costes and we look forward to visiting again. :)

A lovely cottage in a tranquil area

There are plenty of places to visit locally either by trying some of the well-mapped walks or using your own transport or borrowing one of Yvonne and Paul's bikes. Situated right in the heart of the Duras wine region with lots of tasty cheeses and freshly made bread also available, it's very easy to try a different combination every day! Paul and Yvonne are always available but never intrude and they can provide the information you need to make your stay as relaxing or as adventurous as you want. I'd definitely recommend this lovely gite.

Perfect.

We have just returned home after a relaxing fortnight in this lovely cottage in a truly wonderful corner of France. The cottage itself is spacious, homely and is supplied with everything you could need to make yourself feel at home, including a great selection of books, DVD's and a TV with all British channels - not that we took advantage of that, as there was so much to explore! The cottage is in a private rural location, and in the first week we spent a lot of time sunning ourselves and reading books on the front veranda, as well as using the great swimming pool and exploring the area. Although the weather was cooler and a tad rainy in the second week, the area itself is so rich with historical bastide towns, small villages and things to see and do, that weather becomes a secondary issue. We particularly loved Bergerac, St Emilion, Eymet and Monteton, although we also spent a lot of time just driving and stopping off wherever we saw something interesting - there is a lot to be discovered! Many thanks to Yvonne and Paul for being so welcoming and brilliant hosts in every way. A special mention also goes to the donkeys, the cats and the chickens - for animal lovers like us it was brilliant to have them around, further enriching the experience for us. We could not recommend this cottage highly enough and hope to return some day soon with more stories, even more carrots and to stock up at Berticot!

Holiday Heaven

We spent a wonderfully relaxing week at Les Costes the home of Yvonne and Paul our warm and friendly hosts. The gite was very well appointed with every home comfort afforded to us, including the gas barbecue which we found to be most useful during the hot summer evenings. The location is perfect for those wishing to unwind in what is a very tranquil setting, but there is also the option of visiting some fascinating local towns such as Eymet and Duras, which are both within easy reach of the property. We particularly enjoyed the ambience and relaxed atmosphere of the night market at Duras. Our first experience at Les Costes will certainly not be our last. Thank you once again Yvonne and Paul allowing us to share your heavenly home.

Beautiful , peaceful, idyllic location.

Spent a fabulous week in excellently,maintained and delightful gite. Paul and Yvonne were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend this gorgeous property to anyone. Could have stayed a lot longer.

A well-equipped, comfortable cottage

The cottage is fully equipped and comfortable in a setting which combines space and tranquility. Yvonne and Paul are perfect hosts, hospitable, informative, but never intrusive. The surrounding contryside is beautiful with lots to see and do. Particularly memorable were the excellent local restaurants, the bastide towns and villages, and the larger centres of Bordeaux and Bergerac, all within easy reach. A great venue all round!

A truly lovely secluded cottage

When we were met on arrival by Paul and Yvonne with a chilled glass of rose wine I knew this was going to be good. The cottage is just scrumptious with exposed beams and loads of original features. But it was the little touches that really made the difference like a super comfy bed with good quality pillows and bed linen. We loved the private garden/patio area which gets the sun most of the day although there is plenty of shade round the pool if it gets too hot.Our hosts were always there when we needed them but never intrusive and they even invited us into their lovely home for drinks. An added bonus was our evening cuddles with the 2 rescue donkeys. They love carrots, so if you stay here you must add some to your shopping list. The area is very beautiful and perfect if you are into running or cycling. There is a good choice of routes with varying inclines and as a lone female runner I felt safe at all times. We would not hesitate in recommending this cottage.

Superb - Highly Recommended

A fantastic little cottage with everything the discerning traveller needs for an excellent holiday, as well as being superb value for money. An idyllic little hide away in easy reach of main towns and villages, in a really peaceful setting. Yvonne & Paul were excellent hosts, really helpful and attentive but not at all intrusive. They provided lots of information and helpful hints to help us on our house buying quest - very much appreciated. The cottage is ideal for a couple and lived up to all of our expectations. The pictures on the website were exactly what you got - pretty, traditional, high quality, comfortable and well equipped with all you need (including bath towels and an iron, which is great for those flying in on a budget airline!). The kitchen was also very well equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday, and all the furniture/furnishings were of a really high standard. The cottage was super clean and really well maintained with lots of little touches that made it feel like a home rather than a holiday cottage. We have no hesitation in recommending this property. Thanks to Yvonne & Paul for a super week.

Very welcoming, relaxing stay

We stay in self catering frequently and are very fussy. We had taken considerable care to book holiday accommodation of a high standard, offering peace and quiet in pretty countryside, not far from restaurants. We were thrilled by the area and delighted when we arrived to find Les Costes met all our expectations. The warm welcome made us feel comfortable immediately. The cottage is exactly as advertised only better. It was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed and great character features. Everything worked efficiently and the kitchen was well equipped. Sitting outside and walking through the grounds was all so peaceful. We appreciated the huge effort Paul and Yvonne put into creating this pretty cottage and we hope to return. We have already recommended it to friends.

Idyllic

A wonderfully spacious cottage, more than big enough for two people and with every home comfort you could wish for. Set in a beautifully tranquil location, the perfect place to relax and unwind. Paul and Yvonne the owners are really lovely people and stay discreetly in the background but are there if you have any queries. Their knowledge of the area is excellent and there is also a great deal of information inside the cottage about the area to help you choose your sightseeing destinations. We would thoroughly recommend this beautiful place.

Positive Experience

Yvonne and Paul were excellent hosts and made our holiday stay both enjoyable and memorable. They were very generous with their time when we needed it to seek information. The holiday home was a credit to them both in lay-out and cleanliness and everything we needed was there. They provided us with some fresh produce from the garden and newly laid eggs during our stay which was a lovely gesture and much appreciated. The location was ideal for visiting the many fantastic places of interest in the surrounding areas. We will cetainly be recommending the holiday home as an ideal place for a holiday to our friends. A wonderful honeymoon location!!

Me and my husband came to this delightful, warm and welcoming accommodation as newly weds on our honeymoon and I cannot recommend it enough! The property itself is set amongst a beautiful country setting which is very peaceful and romantic. In the evenings when sat out on the patio you can hear a whistful tune of frogs singing and during the day, if your lucky like me, you'll spot some of the local birds which are stunning!! It was wonderful. Indoors the property is maintained to high standard and is very cosy! With its wooden beams and quaint little features its nice to stay in and snuggle up on the sofa rather then heading out all the time. The owners are perfect! They are there if you need them but also keep themselves to themselves! However we loved seeing them and they provided us with such kindness! They are also very knowledgeable about the area and willing to provide information on all of the beautiful and interesting places to visit!! We will, without hesitation go back one day and once again would like to thank them both for their hospitality and enthusiasm of taking care of us :) Ali and Jase Xxxx

Fantastic!

This is an excellent property in a lovely nice quiet location but only a stones throw away from some great villages. Yvonne and Paul were the perfect hosts and gave us a very warm welcome. We had a lovely week away and hope to come back asap, thanks!

A very good holiday

I would just like to support all the comments made on this gite and the owners. We arrived with very bad colds but because I was able to have lovely hot baths and showers in the morning I got over it very quickly and was able to enjoy all the facilities locally. We visited towns, bought wine and prunes. Yvonne and Paul are very helpful but not intrusive. We would definitely recommend it to other people and have done so to friends. We had a lovely holiday.

Idylic

We have always said that as France is such a big country we would not go somewhere twice so the fact that we went back to Yvonne and Paul's a second time speaks volumes about the Gite and the welcome we received. It is an easy drive from Bordeaux airport (a car is essential) and is set in lovely rolling countryside in a peaceful surroundings. Our flight was delayed by two hours so we didn't arrive until past midnight but our host were waiting for us with a welcome glass of wine and a light snack. The gite is spacious, exceptionally clean and tidy and with all equipment you need for a self catering holiday. The villages and town in the area are all interesting and worth visits and further afield there are the chateaux of the Dordogne but as a word of warning Beynac and Sarlat are very busy in the high season. Yvonne and Paul are always on hand to offer you advice on where to go, what to see and the best local restaurants if you ask but are in no way intrusive. All in all a wonderful location for a stress free relaxing holiday

Best Yet

The cottage was just as described in the literature if not better and in a very quiet part of the countryside - in fact towards the end of a no-through lane. It was very well maintained with every comfort and was very clean and well kitted out with everything we needed to make this a really relaxing and trouble free holiday - all helped by magnificent weather. What made things even more enjoyable were our hosts Paul and Yvonne who were very helpful, warm and friendly without intruding on our space and with whom, sharing the pool, posed no problems at all. Their help with finding a dentist (just what you don't want on holiday!) was way and beyond the call of duty and we benefitted from goodies from the garden too! In our book this is a perfect place for two people at any time of the year. It is within easy reach of the many charming Bastide towns of the area as well as chateaux to visit, rivers and canals to walk alongside or canoe on and delightful towns such as St Emillion to visit and explore. Supermarkets are good and there is a bakery in the nearest village for your daily bread. We are really grateful to Paul and Yvonne for their kindness and hospitality in making this a memorable holiday in (for us) a perfect setting.

The perfect getaway

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at this charming cottage. This is the perfect place for couples who want a quiet break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The cottage has everything you could wish for and is a perfect home from home. Yvonne and Paul are friendly and attentive hosts. They are able to give useful advice on local activities, markets, and places of interest. There is so much you can see in the area and still leave time to relax on the patio or by the pool. We would highly recommend this charming cottage.
