In-town Bar Harbor; walk everywhere, off street parking, and close to Shore Path

Avery Skye Cottage is a lovely 3-story family house located in-town Bar Harbor and just two blocks from one of the Shore Path entrances. The Cottage features a grassy backyard, a deck with an outdoor conversational set, dining set and gas grill. The Village Green is an easy walk where you can enjoy many shops and restaurants. The farmer's market held every Sunday morning at the town ball field is just a few streets away.

The cottage features 5 bedrooms. On the 2nd floor there is a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a single twin bedroom; and full bathroom with bathtub/shower. The 3rd floor offers two queen bedrooms and a newly added bathroom featuring a glass shower.

On the main floor is the kitchen, dining area, living room (with decorative fireplace) and a half bathroom. The main floor also includes a lovely front porch.

Amenities include premium cable TV including HBO and Showtime (in living room & master bedroom), DVD, WIFI, A/C in all bedrooms except the twin, washer/dryer, gas BBQ, linens, off street parking for 3 cars, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, blender, and outdoor furnishings on the porch (dining, sitting).

Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer visitors a variety of activities, see NPS.gov for information about obtaining park passes, maps, vehicle parking registration for Cadillac Summit Rd (new for 2021), including hiking, biking, lake swimming, carriage roads for walking/running, and horse back riding. Enjoy tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, golf at a PGA top-rated course, or even play tennis at one of the many courts offered to the public. Kids activities include going to Sand Beach, Seal Harbor Beach, miniature golf, hiking, pond swimming at Echo Lake, and lots of ice cream shops!

The 6 of us all enjoyed our stay! We found this house to be very clean, well appointed with very thoughtful touches throughout. The host was very accommodating to a special request. The house is walking distance to the center of Bar Harbor and in very close proximity to the gorgeous Shore Path which we walked along often during the week. Great house in a great location.

We’ve been staying in Bar Harbor for many summers, and bounced around many properties looking for “the one”. I dare say we’ve found it. The perfect combination of space, convenience, charm, and town living. The kids loved the backyard, and the proximity to the park. The adults loved the gas fire pit, the stocked kitchen, and the short walk to town. We will definitely be booking this again for our summer family retreats.

This was a great house for your family! The location can't be beat. We appreciated that the house was not only stocked with the basics, but extras like beach towels, bug spray, tupperware, etc. The AC units worked well during a hot week. Very comfortable and well maintained.

Wonderful home in quiet neighborhood, very close to shore path

The house was very well stocked, and the host went above and beyond to respond to some AC issues that cropped up during our stay. She was very responsive and easy to work with and it was only a matter of minutes to a few hours before things were fixed. The house is clean and the kitchen very well stocked. Super convenient location and great neighbors. Thank you for a great stay!!!

Hiking friends trip

The house is lovely! Very clean, well stocked with basics, nice beds/sheet, towels; great location! Close to town but on side street. Communication with owner was very timely. Local and able to help out in our time of need. Very nice!! We would stay there again in a heartbeat and recommend it to others! Loved it!

Bar Harbor family getaway

Extremely cute, clean property with great layout for my adult family of 7. Amazing location! Easy walk to everything. Great communication by owner. Definitely would stay again and recommend.

Bar Harbor Holiday

This house was spotless and equipped with everything we could need. I had ordered coffee and cream to be delivered with other groceries but forgot sugar. But found some neatly wrapped in the cupboard. Other things such as night lights, grilling utensils, hair dryer, phone charger, and yard and beach toys, made the stay so much more enjoyable. The owners were prompt to address any issues and gave suggestions of places to see. It’s conveniently located to walk to restaurants and shops, but at the same time the back yard feels like you’re in the woods.

Beautiful house, perfect location

We had a wonderful stay in Avery Skye! Beautiful house! Excellent indoor and outdoor spaces for 7 people! The location is fabulous (we wish the shore path reconstruction was finished so we could have benefitted from the proximity - but it is scheduled to be done by summer 2025 by the town) The host is incredibly responsive and the house is amazingly stocked with essentials and extras. Thank you Jacqueline!

Wonderful Stay in Bar Harbor

Lovely home in great location. Easy walk to all the Bar Harbor shops, plus close to a great playground and the farmers market. Super clean and well-appointed. It is obvious the owner takes great care of this home. Would highly recommend!

Bar Harbor Family Trip

The house was perfect and located in a wonderful area. Avery Sky has everything you need and provided a wonderful place to stay. The host was kind, helpful and responsive. The location of the home makes it very easy to walk up town and all of Mount Dessert Island was with in an easy drive. We spent many days hiking Acadia and exploring the shoreline looking for sea glass. We took a 1/2 day kayak trip and also went on a puffin cruise; both were great. We saw lots of wildlife! In late May, a few of our kiddos swam in Somes Sound. It was cold! You can hike to it from Flying Montain Trail (where we saw a porcupine eating in the trees) or you can take an easy gravel path from the parking lot down to the sound. We can’t wait to come back again. We would all easily stay in Avery Sky forever.

Absolutely wonderful

Beautiful, comfortable house. Everything you need. Short walk to Shore Path, restaurants, shops. Perfect location: walking distance to everything, but in a peaceful neighborhood away from the crowds. In short, one of the best VRBO experiences I've ever had.

Repeat stay

Stayed at Avery Skye last year and liked it so much we booked it again this year. Perfect location so we could walk to town and get in and out of the park very easily. Jacqueline is a fantastic host and her house is well stocked-even had a cake server for an impromptu birthday cake we bought. We loved all of the games and puzzles too.

Loved every moment

The home was perfect. Jacqueline was so responsive to any questions we had. The house was stocked with all the essentials and she thought of everything. We were so close to Acadia We had coffee on the front porch every morning and walked down the path to bar harbor before most were awake. The back yard was relaxing and all in all it was a wonderful vacation for all.

Perfect location and beautiful home. Everything we could have wanted was provided. Wonderful kitchen, spacious bedrooms and lovely backyard and porch. Great home base to explore Acadia and beyond. Host was great for communication. Would definitely stay again if we are fortunate enough to be in the area.

I always admired this house (I live in the neighborhood) and I am thrilled to provide it as the kind of vacation rental property I would seek, if I were visiting Acadia National Park.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The Shore Path is just around the corner and the Sunday Farmers' Market is on the end of the next street. The entrance to Acadia National Park's 'Loop Road' is south of the cottage, including Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, and the east side hiking trails.
