Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention regarding your recent stay at our property. While we are pleased that you enjoyed your holiday, we are devastated to learn about some of the issues you encountered. We have reviewed your feedback in detail and also consulted with the cleaning company who provided images from their post-cleaning inspection and want to assure you that the property was thoroughly inspected by both our manager and our cleaning company the day before your arrival. Unfortunately, just prior to and during your stay, we had a couple of extreme weather events, which we believe may have driven ants inside the property over the weekend. Cyclone Tam is also likely responsible for excess water getting in through the doors off the lounge, this has highlighted an issue with a small leak via the ranch slider that we were not aware of. Thank you for pointing this out, we have now engaged someone to rectify the problem with the door and are in the process of replacing the damaged piece of carpet. Given the property's location on the edge of the harbour, the location is naturally more susceptible to various pests. However, we take this matter very seriously and use a pest control company that monitors the property and lays baits and traps every month to combat these issues. We have asked them to increase the baits for ants inside the house whilst the weather is extra wet. As the bar-b-que is located outdoors it is also susceptible, however we don’t usually put any poison near this as it would be too easy for children to access. We acknowledge that it is getting older and are taking steps to have it reconditioned and have advised the pest team to lay additional cockroach baits beneath the house. We have also reminded the cleaning company to check the cleanliness of the BBQ after each stay. In addition, we regret to hear about the inconvenience you faced with the bikes at the property. Having rang our friend and Manager Malcolm (on how to switch on the oven), as you had his phone number, it would have perhaps been an opportunity to ring him to discuss the bikes. He is local and would have come over and pumped up the tires and applied some lubrication to the chains. We have now placed the bike pump in a clearly marked location for future guests.
