Una mezcla de casas de vacaciones y residenciales. Cerca del aeropuerto nacional. Reserva a lo largo del lago, frente a la propiedad. Gran reserva popular y parque más abajo cerca del paseo marítimo.

Moverse

La parada de autobús está a pocos pasos de distancia. El autobús es el autobús circular de la ciudad y el aeropuerto, y tarda unos 20 minutos en llegar al centro de la ciudad.
Cerca de las secuoyas y el río Kaituna, aunque todo lo que rodea la ciudad se puede conducir en diez minutos o menos.

Lovely spot

Had a great time at the house right by the lake. Very cosy and comfortable. Peaceful with the lake right at the edge of the lawn, just what was needed after a busy time to have a relaxing, pleasant time at Holden's Bay.

A proper kiwi bach

Stunning quiet location on the lake. Warm swims on our doorstep every day! The bach had everything we needed. A bit dated but that didn't bother us and I think is reflected in the price.

Great Bach

We recently stayed at this Bach- great wee spot. Super easy to find, and great off street parking. Host is really accommodating. The home is small but comfortable- we had 5 staying and it didn’t feel crowded. Aircon which was really welcome during the hot nights. Would definitely book again

Perfect space for active whānau

We came for legends of the peaks, there were a few big kaupapa happening in the area during that time so it was great we could go back to the bach and lake be right there for us to wind down and enjoy. Everything that we needed was in the bach, the kid's enjoyed the board games. Thank you Cory, great spot

Incredible spot

We loved everything about this stay. The owner could not have been more helpful. We had such a wonderful time and there were so many thoughtful touches- even things like scrabble. A wonderul, quiet place and literally on the lake front. Despite a rainy weekend we had a blast staying here and highly recommend

perfect location. Comfy beds, plenty of space. Incredible place to stay with 3,5 and 6 yr olds. Playground. Museum. Bus to town or airport all within easy walking distance. No car needed most of the time. Walk house to lawn to sand to water. Perfect..

Exceeded expectations

fantastic location with well mown grassy lawn leading straight out to the lake. Living area nice and spacious, good heating and wifi. Communication with host very efficient. One suggestion for improvement would be to have a slightly softer bed, it was very firm :).

Checked-out early

We were so disappointed in this house we checked out early. It needs some attention. Dirty entryway, bathroom and couches. Outside deck and windows hadn’t been cleaned in some time, so was not the nice space like in the picture! Beds were hard, bunk beds did not work for kids as if one moved it shook the whole thing. It’s outdated and felt a hodge podge of garage sale items.

*Full Disclosure to put the above review into context* The day after Kristen checked in I received a message from her saying, ‘this house is not working out for us,’ and that she was leaving. Kristen asked for a three night refund. She provided no reasons. I asked if it was something to do with the house or a personal change of plans (we have a strict cancellation policy). Kristen replied that it was the house and listed noisy neighbours, hard beds, squeaky bunks and an under-equipped kitchen and house as reasons. I wanted to work with Kristen to arrange an amicable resolution. I told her that I could try and rebook those nights that she would leave vacant and then refund the money recouped. I also mentioned that her reasons for leaving were quite subjective and against the grain in terms of the guest feedback we have been accustomed to over the past ten years. Things like location, quietude, cleanliness and having a well-equipped home are things that guests continually mention as positives in their private and public feedback. I asked Kristen if she could kindly provide some specifics about what exactly made our home unliveable, in her opinion. I welcomed photos of any areas of uncleanliness and a detailed description of what exactly she felt our home needed to best accommodate her and be better equipped/stocked. This feedback, I explained, is very important for us to continue to be a top rated listing. Kristen replied, ‘I will send you specifics later tonight’, but we received no further contact from her again. Kristen never bothered to follow up about the refund but wrote her scathing review the moment her booking expired. We were understandably very upset and confused by the whole episode. On a happier note, we are pleased to say that every group of guests that we had stay in the six months prior to Kristen left 5-star reviews, and all those who have stayed over the month and a half since have also given glowing 5-star reviews.

Relaxing by the lake

Fabulous location with lake views. Very private . Comfortable for our adult family. We were there in wonderful weather and it could have been nice to have a barbeque, I also realise the extra work / cleaning this may require.

Fabulous location on the lake

Great property in a fabulous location. To be able to walk across the deck and fabulous spacious flat garden into the lake which is safe for swimming was really special. We found the property clean and in good condition. Mattresses particularly comfortable for a holiday house.

Great lakefront location

Very nice location at the lakefront, shallow and sandy swimming perfect for kids. The property itself is a nice size for a family. Kitchen essentials and other amenities could use some updating. Lots of lake flies (not to any fault of the owner) but there are many around the house. House could use a deep cleaning, we brought this up with Cory and he was prompt in his response and said he would look at fixing some of the issues. Some suggestions to bring this property into the excellent category would be a few screens on the windows (particularly the toilet and shower room), extra towels available, a few chairs outdoors that could be brought down to the water front, and a good go through the kitchen to clean out cupboards and dispose of broken items. Overall a decent stay with the location making up for many of the small issues we encountered.

Great views from every room

Great views from all rooms, comfy couches, quality beds and bedding, lots of space, friendly, responsive owners - especially if you have a car, this is a great option for Rotorua. We would gladly return. The fact is, Rotorua's major sights are all spread out. The downtown, which is an easy 10 min drive away, doesnt have much beyond restautants, and isnt particularly scenic. So you might as well stay someplace nice. This is that place

I am a Rotorua local who currently lives and works in Hong Kong with my wife and two young boys. Not long ago, when back in Rotorua visiting my family, we came across this special place and fell in love with it. The house is humble, a true Kiwi bach, but we found the spot spot to be truly magical. We try to get back and enjoy the place with our boys as much as we can manage, but in the meantime we are proud and excited to have other families stay and make special memories of their own there.

My mother actually lives a short walk around the corner, and for years when we visited her we always enjoyed the long walks along the lakefront, and realized what a wonderful spot it was. We had admired this very house many times before it was put up for sale.
