Historic NEWLY RENOVATED Apartment Right ON The Virginia Creeper Trail Overlooking The Holston River. Apartment location is the entire second floor. No need to drive to the trail. You are on it!! Just step out the door and get on your bike. Just a few steps away across the spacious parking area is the Holston River with a Gazebo for picnics by the water. Fantastic Restaurants in both Abingdon and Damascus. Make sure to visit The Barter Theatre while you are in town.
Apartment is equipped with High speed Wi-fi. All televisions are SmartTV's, perfect for accessing your Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime accounts, etc. Linens and towels provided.
Bring your bike, fishing pole, kayak and don't forget your camera! Winery is walking or biking distance , only 0.6 miles away. Barter Theater is a short 10 minute drive. Perfect location for the Yeti 50 and Yeti 100. But hurry, those dates book quickly! Enjoy the outdoors in scenic Southwest Virginia.
Easy drive to Bristol Motor Speedway.
Beautifully renovated space in Historic Alvarado. The space features a brand new King size bed with luxurious linens... super comfy and cozy! There is a flat screen TV in the bedroom perfectly positioned to watch if you want to lounge around and catch a good movie. On the other side of the bedroom is a cozy chair to relax in and read a good book. A large 2nd level private porch awaits you just outside your bedroom door. Great to watch the river, the bikes riding by, and the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening while listening to the sounds of tree frogs in the distance.
The second Flat Screen TV is in the living room along with the comfortable oversized leather sofa, loveseat and ottoman. All TV's have access to most streaming services and Netflix. Terrific WIFI and boosted cell phone signal is included at this property. If you feel the need to get some work done while you are here, by all means, bring your laptop!
The spa inspired bathroom has been newly renovated and includes big fluffy towels, Shampoo, conditioner and soaps. The Kitchen includes a cute shabby chic farm table for 2, A small stove, Mini fridge, Microwave, Keurig coffee, plenty of snacks,and bottled water.

The entire apartment is yours to enjoy, and also the shared picnic tables outdoors between the cottage and the main building.

There is a very spacious parking area in front of the building. Guests of Alvarado Apartment have access to carport parking on the left side of the building right near the entryway to the apartment.
Please check Abingdon Winery for special events on the weekends. 3 night stays are required for all weekend stays.

Alvarado Station Apartment

The Alvarado Station apartment was in a beautiful location! It is a cozy and clean space! The hosts made sure we were welcomed at our arrival and made sure we knew how to contact them if we needed anything. Super nice people!! I would definitely recommend staying here! They took care to have the “extras” there to make our stay even more enjoyable! 😊

On the Virginia creeper Trail

We had a wonderful time in Damascus. The location was perfect. Accommodations were good and we had a wonderful time. Virginia is such a beautiful state especially this part of the state. If you get a chance, we would highly recommend staying here to explore the mountains, hiking and cycling, thanks again for a stay!

Clean with Many Special Touches

The property was very clean, with lots of extras: many fluffy towels, extra pillows and comforters, bottled water, coffee pods, snacks. It was full of art and Americana such as a spotted cow footstool, bicycle wall sculptures, a large wooden chicken perched high in the kitchen. The location on the South Branch of the Holston River and the Virginia Creeper Trail was just gorgeous. A second-floor porch offered great views. Highly recommend!

Great place and location!

This place is a must if your planning on riding the creeper or just enjoy the scenery. Everything was clean and just as we hoped. Our bikes had a secure spot and our view of the river was great. I give this place an A+. I hope to return again .

Wonderful Vacation Getaway

The Alvarado Station Apartment was exactly like the description. We went for our 34th Wedding Anniversary. We were so impressed with the time spent to little details by the hosts. From the fluffy towels to the snacks to the carport to park under, we were blown away. Perfect location along the Creeper Trail. We hope to rent this location again.

Great Getaway!

Ours was a "shoulder season" visit to cure some cabin fever antsy-ness. Sometimes the most convenient location can be a little beat up, but this apartment was in excellent condition and thoughtfully furnished.

Peaceful country setting

Perfect place for a quiet weekend. As described, property right on Virginia Creeper Trail. Setting is gorgeous! Feels far removed from town but is really only a short drive. Weather didn’t cooperate for us to bike but we still had a great time. Love the thoughtfulness of the pull down counter in the bathroom. Makes the small space completely adequate.

Fall visit

Loved it. Very clean. Snacks and coffee provided. Loved the balcony. You could relax and watch the bikers and listen to the river that was across the road.

A beautiful place to stay

We so enjoyed our time at this beautiful retreat spot! We loved how the porch overlooked the river and we spent our mornings and some evenings sitting out enjoying the beauty. It was great to be right at the Creeper Trail. The apartment was comfortable and had all the things we needed for a great stay. We loved all the thoughtful touches and the hosts were wonderful! We look forward to coming back and staying here again.

The best weekend get away

The upstairs property was perfect for our stay. It was clean, the AC worked and a great shower. The sheets were so comfy snd great towels. I rode the whole Va Creeper up and back (66ish) miles and I was hungry and they have snacks!!! The snacks saved me. The coffee is great to have there as there is no close coffee shop to walk to. We will go again and probably bring friends to stay in the other properties.

perfect spot!

We really enjoyed our stay at the station house! The owners though of everything and was nothing we needed everything .There even little extra touches some rentals wouldnt even think of!!! Location was perfect for bike riders or trail seekers. I orignially had second thoughts about an apartment and noise however we heard nothing it was peaceful after a long day of biking. The owner was on premises the day we checked in and made sure we had everything we needed/wanted. He explained location and the trails and some places to dine , he was super nice and happy to help in anyway. We would defiantly use this home again!!!!!

The Perfect Rental!

Although our stay was short, this rental was perfect in every way and made our stay so comfortable! My husband and I brought our bikes with us to ride on the Creeper Trail. This rental space was great for two of us. The King bed was so comfortable, I asked our host, Dorata, about the brand of the mattress! We may get one for ourselves at home! The property is exactly as pictured and described. It's historic (formally a post office) with a beautiful blend of old and new in the rental. Snacks, water, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, & fluffy towels are all provided. Dorata thought of everything and was wonderful in providing the needed information for checking in and answering questions. This is an upstairs rental and there is also a rental downstairs- so be advised that you will need to walk up stairs. There is an area to store bikes at the top of the stairs which was so convenient! If we are in the Abingdon area again, we won't hesitate to book this property again!

Fabulous rental on Creeper Trail

Such a great rental! Clean and beautifully decorated. Stocked with snacks and water. This is right on The Creeper Trail and across the street from the river. It was fantastic and we'll be back!

Good space on the creeper

Lots of room. Nice view of the river from the balcony. Owner very helpful walking me through the streaming service. Nice covered parking. Very good bed.

Excellent stay!

This is a beautiful apartment across from the river--such a relaxing place to be. The host happened to be around and greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed! Water in the fridge, snacks on the table...we were set! I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for an quiet get away!

Great Get-Away Weekend!

What a great little apartment! Dorata was great to work with and very quick to answer any questions! It's well appointed, very clean and very comfortable! (Both the living room furniture and the bed :)) It was fun being right on the Creeper Trail and staying at this quaint Alvarado Station. Even had a picnic dinner at the little gazebo across the street on the river. The snacks, water, and coffee were especially welcome! Thanks for a great stay and would stay again! We highly recommend!

Another wonderful stay in Alvarado

This is the third time I’ve stayed in the cottages at Alvarado. It is a beautiful place right on the Creeper Trail with a gorgeous view of the river. We especially loved that snacks were provided and loved having them while we watched a movie one of the nights during our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable too. Can’t wait to come back again.

Great Apartment & Location

This is a great apartment and location right on the VA Creeper Trail. The host went above and beyond by having water and snacks, and the basics everyone needs, but usually forget. The apartment was very clean. Communicating with the host was simple and fast throughout the rental process. 5-stars, no question!

Restful, Easy, Comfortable

The location was convenient, quiet, and lovely. The apartment had everything we needed and more (so MANY snacks and pillows!). The hosts were really friendly and kind and went WAY ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure that our time with them was restful and fun. When I ended up with a concussion (bike wreck...but don't let that stop YOU from enjoying the Creeper Trail!), they offered to let us stay another day so I could rest. This was truly generous hospitality: we WILL be back!
