Year Round Waterfront Lakehouse - Whitt's End

Do you need a break? Come join at us at Whitt's End! We are located on the main channel of the great Lewis Smith Lake and conveniently near the secluded William Bankhead National Forest. Please enjoy our 5BR/3.5BA lake home on a flat lot with year round waterfront. Our home is on lot that is wooded for privacy, but still allows breathtaking views of the lake from the screened in porch, living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom. Our large screened porch is just off the living area facing the lake. The screened in porch is perfect for your morning cup of coffee, afternoon naps, to fresh fish being served at the table. We have a grilling deck with a charcoal grill right off the screened in porch. After supper, you will have a blast making a fire in our large fire pit with ample seating for everyone. It's only a short walk to the boat and swim dock.

Don’t have a boat? No problem. You can rent a pontoon from Lakeshore Marina. Lakeshore Marina is 1.4 miles from our home.

Do you love to kayak, paddle board or canoe? We are in the start of a no wake zone cove. It’s perfect for kayak, paddle boarding or canoeing!

You can enjoy a meal at one of the local restaurants if you don’t feel like cooking. The Marina as a bar/restaurant. Not far away is Chef Troy’s. Also, the Chevron gas station has one of the best cheeseburgers around!

Another Great Experience

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It is a very nice reasonably priced house. It has everything you need on a great part of the lake. The walk down to the dock is not too hard given that my 80 year old mother had no issues.

A great getaway

We really enjoyed the closesness to our own home. This was a perfect get away with friends! We had lots of room and the lids enjoyed fishing all weekend.

Like Home Away From Home!

My family of seven was very comfortable at this property. We had everything we needed. Plenty of space to spread out, as well as huddle up. We would highly recommend Whitts End as a favorite getaway location.

What a great place!!!

We will be back! This lake house was the perfect setup. We had 8 adults and 4 kids (ages 1-6). The house was in a great swimming location, was close to a marina for boat rental, was off the beaten path and chaos of the main lake, but still close enough for a quick DG run. Every single space was usable, including the water slide and the cut little slide off of the deck. The Lilly pad was also a big hit. The fishing was also another win. Lastly, not sure if it was the location or the upkeep of the property, but we did not have mosquito issues. That alone was a huge win! The owners communication was always clear and their checkout instructions were simple. We will be back!

Gourgeous lake. Awesome location.

We loved our stay on Snith Lake. This house was very comfortable for my group of 11. The location is awesome with very little boat traffic so the kids were able to play of the dock. We had everything we needed as far as necessities provided by the owner and the A/C kept the house cold even in the summer heat. 10/10 definitely recommend.

Beautiful property!

We very much enjoyed our stay here! The property location is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The huge screened-in porch was absolutely perfect for enjoying a good book on while also soaking in the view. The house was pretty clean overall, but seemed like maybe we were the first ones there after being left empty for the winter - some cobwebs on the walls/ceiling and some stains on the comforters.

Best Property Yet

I have taken my children and grandchildren to Smith Lake 3 years in a row now. We have stayed at three different properties. This property is by and far the best yet!!! The property is very nice, the house is modern and boat dock was in good shape. The location of the house is great since it is not on the main channel with all the boat traffic. My family has already asked me to re-rent this property for next year.

Very enjoyable stay on Smith Lake (Sipsey River)We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Whitt’s end! There was plenty of room and excellent communication with the property owner. The property was as advertised with some general wear and tear on the house. It was quiet even with other properties nearby. The house was very comfortable for our group of 11. We had all the necessities we needed provided by the owner and the A/C kept the house cold. The fire pit was also a big hit in the evenings.The Screened porch works great especially with all the kids when it rains, which it did often this past week. was perfect to just hang out, eat, play games or just relax with lots of seating. There is easy access to boat dock via wooden walkway with not many steps and well lit at night. The boat dock is in an excellent location with very little boat traffic so the kids were able to play off the dock. Its not on the main channel and just inside a no wake zone. The water pad and slide were perfect! The covered boat slip and JetSki port was great for the PWC and bass boat although a power receptacle to recharge the batteries would have been nice. I'm glad it was covered since it rained so much! The public launch was close by (next to Lakeshore Marina). Its a short drive - or boat ride - to Lakeshore Marina. We all had a great time and would definitely rent again! As a matter of fact, my family has already asked me to re-rent this property for next year.
Morning fishing very close...I caught 6 keeper Bass the first morning and never fired up the big motor. A view from the water near the NO WAKE buoy.

Group stay

We had a wonderful ladies weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday. Everything was perfect and the listing is exactly as described. We took walks in the peaceful neighborhood and lounged on the deck to soak up some sun. The fire pit was perfect!

4th of July Family Fun

Overall we had a great stay. I wish that the next door neighbors had been nicer. They rudely informed us that we need all trash to be put into a black garbage bag instead of the white ones that were already there and white bags is what we had brought from home. Who knew???? They also spent the entire weekend loudly pressure washing their boat dock with a generator that we couldn’t hear ourselves talk over. It just took away from the lake atmosphere having to hear that the whole time.

A Great Stay
