Welcome to Crab Claw, a beach escape on Galveston’s West End where the whole family—including your four-legged friends—is welcome! Just a short stroll from the sand, this 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home sleeps up to 10 guests and is perfect for families or groups of friends looking to relax, reconnect, and soak up island life. Best of all? Crab Claw is dog-friendly—so bring along your pup for a tail-wagging adventures by the sea.

Crab Claw offers pleasant views of the Gulf from the deck and living area. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktails outdoors as the breeze rolls in off the water. Downstairs, a spacious covered area with swings, picnic tables, lounge chairs, and a charcoal grill provides plenty of room to relax, play, or dine outside after a day at the beach.

Inside, you’ll find a remodeled open-concept living and dining area with coastal-inspired décor, high ceilings, and lots of natural light. The updated kitchen features quartz countertops, new appliances, a breakfast bar, and a convenient opening to the living space—keeping everyone connected. The large dining table seats 10, making it easy to enjoy family meals and game nights.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own private bathroom for added comfort and convenience. On the main level, Bedroom 1 includes two queen beds, a TV, a private bath with a whirlpool tub/shower combo, and direct access to the deck. Upstairs, Bedroom 2 features a king bed, TV with cable, and a full bath with a tub/shower combo. Bedroom 3 is a fun bunk room with two sets of custom-built bunks, special reading lights, stairs and a ladder for access, and its own bathroom—perfect for kids or teens.

Other amenities include parking for up to four vehicles, an outdoor shower, and ramp and stair access to the main level (please note: the home does not meet ADA guidelines). The fireplace is decorative only and non-functioning.

Located just two minutes from the beach and a short drive from Galveston’s most popular attractions—including Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, and the Historic Strand District—Crab Claw offers the perfect home base for a fun and relaxing island getaway.

Perfect Thanksgiving getaway

The Crab Claw house was perfect for our family for thanksgiving! The location is just far enough from the busy area but not too far. Plenty of room for family of 6. The living room is a nice set up for everyone to gather. Only complaint would be the appliances could be update but not a deal breaker! We would return in a heartbeat!

Great house

This house was much better than we expected! Perfect layout for our family. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room for us - 2 adults, 1 grandma, 2 kids. House has a ramp - so we loaded our stuff into our beach wagon and it was so easy to carry stuff up and down. Quick walk to the beach. We will stay here again!

Great for our long weekend

Clean & well appointed. Could use small fans in bedrooms without ceiling fans. Interior stairs very steep, so maybe caution for small children! Beautiful place with nice view of beach!

Perfect location!

We have stayed in this property before and will book it every time! Perfect for our family just far enough from town to avoid the crowds! Always clean and beds are comfy! If i had any suggestions it would be make sure the nails are nailed down on the deck and clothes washer makes a crazy sound when draining. Tjose aren't complaints just notes.

Had a great time!

The property was as it was described on the website. The only difference was that you could not reach the beach at the end of the street. The water has eroded the beach & caused a drop off from the road. It was not a big problem because you could go over to the next street and walk down a slop to gain beach access. The beach clean, had lots of shells & was great!

Perfect Beach Location

The rental process was so easy with frequent communication from the property managers! The house location was so perfect just steps from the very quiet beach! The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed !! Our only complaints were ants ..in bathroom but they were also outside and on beach so maybe a nature thing… we would book again !

Wonderful spotless comfy home Great location to beach

Everything you need for a beach holiday . Home was super clean with everything you would need . The downstairs bedroom could do with a ceiling fan . Outdoor deck lovely however with young children and small dogs you would need to be vigilant the posts are pretty wide . Beach view is wonderful I could hear the waves crashing it’s a very short walk most definitely looks further away in the pictures . Great neighborhood .

Christmas Away

We stayed in Crab Claw over Christmas and the neighborhood was very quiet and the beach relaxing. We all had a great time and chose Crab Claw for the layout and decor and proximity to the beach. We have stayed at several beach homes and the only thing we could say to add to this would be to provide more beach equipment and outdoor activities. We had to pack a lot of boards and sand toys and sports balls, that would have been convenient to have had at the house. Bikes would be fun to have to ride around, or a hammock, or basketball hoop! One of the cons when going to bed the first night was that the bunk beds upstairs were not made. Nothing like being exhausted after a day of traveling, only to find your kids’ beds not made. It would also be nice to have more food and pantry items available so you aren’t left to run to the store for the small things. Overall, this property was well taken care of and clean (other than the small cockroach we found behind a lamp) and we had a great time.

Unfortunately, the linen company does not make the bunk beds but we do let our guests know in the rental agreement. Great house!

We stayed celebrating a family member's birthday. The house was perfect us. Just a short walk to the beach, but even that was not bad, even carrying our beach "gear". We would rent again!

Great location for beach

We really enjoyed our stay in the Crab Claw on Pirates Beach. The walk to the beach is about 1 minute! So close!. The view of the ocean was great and we enjoyed the August full moon shining beautiful over the Gulf waters. The house was clean and convenient to all. Very comfortable!

Very stylish, cozy house which maximizes the space for guests with good furniture selections/beds. It felt bigger than a 3/2. Very clean.
