Beware
TLDR: The owner Kristy has poor communication skills and caused a nightmare situation for my friends and I. We would caution anyone to reconsider before working with her.
Leaving this review as a warning for others so that you don’t get into the situation I was in with the host. We booked a reservation with Kristy through VRBO and several days before our trip one of our friends who was set to go on the trip needed to drop out due to a death in her family. At this point we messaged Kristy and then left several voicemails explaining our situation and we didn’t hear from her for over 24 hours. We continued to reach out via phone and our phone calls were never returned. At this point we left and additional message not to cancel our booking. When she finally did answer over message she made false claims that we cancelled our trip and was prepared to keep our full payment for the trip without communicating with us. VRBO confirmed our reservation and said that from their records we still had our booking and they encouraged us to go on the trip because we would not be able to receive a refund unless Kristy formally cancelled in the app. So we messaged Kristy saying that we would still be coming as she had our money and we still had our booking through VRBO. When we arrived at the location, there was no one there and there were no check-in instructions left (see video attached). At this point we called VRBO and they reached out to Kristy and she not only refused to speak with us but she said she was unwilling to host us. After several hours on the phone with VRBO, we were able to get a refund and a hotel for the night as we were stranded. After this fiasco with Kristy, we were tired, stressed, and forced to change all of our plans for the weekend. I would warn anyone looking to book with her that you should not expect to speak with her over the phone and to be on your guard as she was ready to keep our money with no grounds to do so.
