Relax and enjoy the privacy of this beautiful uniquely styled home within five mins of Lake James! This home has plenty of parking space and is within mins of several public lake access, so bring the boat! Nearby enjoy the Fonta Fora Trail, Linville Gorge, Pisgah National Forest, Lake James State Park, and downtown Morganton. Near by downtown Morganton and Marion area offers boutiques, wineries, breweries, restaurants and more.

The home has an open concept with full kitchen and gas fireplace. The master has a full bath and the 2nd bedroom has a 1/2 bath. The home is fully stocked. All you need to bring is your clothes and food. Outside you can enjoy the fire pit, large level front and back yard.

Awesome private location not far from town

Stayed here with a friend to ride brown mountain OHV. Was a great place to stay only 20 minutes from the trail head. Private small home with outside fire pit and a nice living room/kitchen area to hang out.

Lovely stay in morganton!

We had such a great stay at this property. It was amazing waking up to such a beautiful and green scene. The rocking chairs were a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning. The rental had everything we needed for a nice week!

Wonderful cottage in the woods

This cottage was great for two couples. Two en-suites, comfortable living room/ kitchen area, pleasant decorations and a beautiful setting! We felt right at home and the host was very responsive, going above & beyond.

Work stay

This place was fantastic for our extended stay! We were in town working a construction job and booked this place for its convenience to town as well as the lake. The owners were fantastic and helped in anyway we needed. The property was very clean and had an immaculate landscape. I highly recommend staying here

Exactly what we needed in a weekend getaway. The house is perfect for a small family or couple. You can get to Lake James or Morganton in 10 mins. Would highly recommend!

Exceeded expectations

As a pleasant surprise, this cottage and surrounding grounds exceeded our expectations. No ordinary renetal, the upscale interior was filled with all the finishing touches one might expect in a primary residence. Without hesitation, we would stay here again in the future.

Just what we needed. This charming cottage has lots of special touches to make you feel at home. Hosts are very responsive. The property is private, yet not secluded. Planning to return to be able to explore the area more!

Perfect place for a quiet getaway

Such an adorable property! The outdoor areas have received much attention/lovely. Rain didn’t give us the chance to use fire pit or see the night sky/stars. Comfortable beds, linens, common spaces. Great location near state parks. Owners very helpful and responsive. We’ll be back!

beautiful home and grounds, would definitely stay again

Really interesting home with beautiful grounds. Very clean, well-stocked kitchen, washer and dryer. We stayed here and went hiking at South Mountains State Park. It was very convenient to the park. Lots of stars at night, with a lovely yard and a wonderful porch and fire pit from which to enjoy them. The owners were so responsive and friendly. We truly appreciated all of their communication before, during, and after our stay. We look forward to staying at this property again soon.

Scenic Cozy Spot!

We did enjoy our stay at this delightful, older venue. It had a cozy feel for 4 people with most amenities you would expect. The mama deer and baby visited each morning, so that was a sweet surprise! There were a few items that needed to be fixed but were not dire for the stay. Great place at the bottom of the mountain and easy access to Asheville for a Biltmore Estate visit!

nice vacation getaway

it was a very nice place. great setting. we enjoyed our stay. a few items that the owner might want to know: air filter in the utility room needed to be replaced. No bowls for salad/soup/cereals in the kitchen other than a few mixing bowls. the wood beam and bed corner in the bedroom by the door needed some sort of padding, since my spouse banged her legs on them getting in/out of the bed or walking toward the half bath. I wrapped a blanket around the pole and the corner as a temporary fix while we stayed there. also, might want to have a compost container in the kitchen if you want some garden compost stuffs. all in all, it was a great place. Thanks.

Nirvana ~ Private, Beautiful Lush Gardens and Relaxing Areas

Oh my! What a lovely treasure! In fact, we booked another week at this beautiful, extremely well maintained and cared for property. The owners are lovely people. We have a little blip at checking in….not at all the owners doing….thank you VRBO..not! The owners were quick to respond and could not have been nicer. My husband said he was sorta happy about the glitch, if not we wouldn’t have had the chance to make their acquaintance! The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The flowers, the sitting areas along the stone paths, in addition with the porch/deck. Flip a coin to decide where to enjoy your morning coffee. We also need to mention the amazing water pressure and great hot water provided wonderful showers. Looking forward to our return trip to enjoy some yard to table blackberries! Thank you! Wonderful holiday retreat

Enjoyed several days over the holidays for a nice mountain getaway. Property was great - provided us the quiet we were looking for! The locals were very nice too! Tina was extremely responsive and the house was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Definitely will stay again if in the area!

Beautiful home

This is a beautiful home with a wonderful fire pit and everything you could need. When help was needed, the response came quickly on text. Our only concern was in the kitchen where most plates were dirty, the silverware was greasy and had pieces of food, the pans were dirty, and the counter greasy. Half and hour of cleaning made this a great cozy place to stay.

Very Cozy and Comfortable Spot

Two couples shared this cute bungalow, I'd call it. Just the right size, styled for the mountains. Easy for meal prep, with full kitchen (no dishwasher, but no biggy). Sat under the night sky next to the stocked firepit and enjoyed reminiscing about the day's activities in this beautiful area. Comfy beds, TV and internet made it feel like a vacation home. Excellent response from Christine on coffee pot issue - prior renter had evidently broken it and it was missing. She offered several alternatives to resolve. We'd certainly visit again!

Relaxing retreat close to Asheville

Very relaxing property tucked in the trees. Everything was exactly as described and presented on VRBO. Easy drive to Asheville and a quick drive to the lake and Morganton. Would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy the mountains and sites of Asheville, but not looking to stay in the heart of the city. Thanks for a great stay!
