At the top of Summit, one of the highest houses in Mill Valley and in the best weather location - literally look down on the fog - enjoy over 1.5 acres of privacy on a private cul de sac with the best hiking and biking trails on Mt. Tam right out your front door. With 3 floors, full wrap around decks including an outdoor living room complete with TV and ceiling heat lamps - your friends and family will have multiple places to spread out and enjoy the sunshine, views and hot tub. Just a 6 minute drive down the hill puts you right in the middle of downtown Mill Valley with a vibrant music and restaurant scene. Everything you need is within minutes and yet only 20 minutes to either San Francisco or Stinson Beach.
The house is equipped cable tv and hi speed fiber att WiFi for any work or entertainment needs.

Great house. Great location.

Relaxing 3 generation mini vacation in a house designed for comfort. Mill Valley has a small town feel with very good restaurants and shopping. Close to Muir Woods, Sausalito, and San Francisco. Already looking forward to a return trip.

July Mountain Retreat

The house is magnificent, impeccably maintained and well appointed with every amenity one could want. The views are spectacular. The hosts are welcoming and friendly, extremely helpful and very responsive. It is a 10+ out of 10. Cannot wait until we can return.

This house is heaven

Amazing location, the house has everything you need. The terrasse was a great place to chill. And the view, speachless! Beds were confortable, lots of pillows. Our partie of 8 was unanymous, we would definitly go back !

Breathtaking views living in the clouds

House is so well thought out, spacious, beautiful and comfortable. Tons of space for our family of adults to each find some area to enjoy some “me” time relaxing up in the clouds. Views really are spectacular. We did some biking and hiking and all right from front door. We loved the recommended hike to the mountain inn for lunch. We would love to return someday .

The perfect getaway

We had the most wonderful stay! The house is gorgeous and comfortable and has all of the amenities you need. We hiked, we hot-tubbed, we cooked amazing meals in the beautiful kitchen, we relaxed. We had all of the comforts of home while nestled in one of the most beautiful locations. Being able to summit Mt Tam from the doorstep is an experience we will never forget. We can’t wait to come back.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

If you are looking for a serene-luxurious-relaxing-mountain getaway…Dan and Danielle’s home is where you want to be. We stayed here for Christmas as a family of 8 and were extremely comfortable. It rained most of the time, but we were still able to enjoy beautiful hike, views, and trips into the charming town of Milll Valley. Very responsive hosts that put a 10/10 effort into making sure you have a great stay. It is mountainous drive to the house from town.

stayed for 9 days for sailing competition. Beautiful house. Felt like home. Host was very helpful. Two suggestions: gutter was loud after it rained and needs something to dampen. Cut some of the pine tree tops a bit to maintain your amazing view.

nature at its best

Meeting Dan and Danielle at our arrival was very special. That alone made us feel welcomed and more connected to their special home. The way nature is integrated into the living experience was very special to us. From hummingbirds taking baths outside the shower window to a huge variety of birds and wildlife surrounding us, we never felt like wanting to leave. This is a spectacular place and provided exactly what we needed for recovering from a surgery and having friends and family around us. Thank you!!

Christmas 2022

We spent a perfect week over Christmas with our 2 daughters and husbands in Dan and Danielle's beautiful home. It is a stunning, private retreat above the trees with lovely sunsets, views of the bay and SF, and plenty of outdoor and indoor space for everyone. We hiked, cooked in the well appointed kitchen, ate oysters in West Marin, shopped in Mill Valley, played games and had a Christmas we will never forget before our first grandchild is born! We hope to go back!!!

Beautiful home amongst the clouds

Dan and Danielle's beautiful house is ideally placed so that you can enjoy the natural serenity of Mill Valley through the extensive Mt Tam trail system, sitting on the comfortable patio furniture overlooking Mill Valley and the city or soaking in the hot tub viewing Mt Tam. The inside of the home is equally impressive and is well suited for relaxing on the comfy couches in front of the fire, cooking an elaborate meal in the well stocked kitchen or even keeping up with your fitness on the Tonal. Dan and Danielle are also very easy to communicate with. Our family of four (two teens) + pup really enjoyed our stay!

You should book

The location is breathtaking. The home is spacious, modern, inviting, equipped, and comfortable. The deck is a dream. The drive up is classic California mountain neighborhood narrow winding roads with lots of walkers and bilers, but traffic is courteous as you pass in either direction up or down. . The owners clearly care about this home, and it has been lived in the type of way that makes you immediately feel like home. Dan was responsive, accommodating, and wonderfully courteous in communication.

Perfect Getaway in Mill Valley!

We had the absolute best time at this home, which we rented for a week for our family who was visiting the Bay Area. The house was clean, extremely spacious, comfortable and well appointed with a great sound system and all you will need for cooking and dining. From the hot tub, to the panoramic views of San Francisco, gorgeous sunsets, outdoor and indoor lounge areas, we felt like we were in our own resort. The hosts were incredibly helpful, generous, and communicative. The home is located up in the hills of Mt Tam which is ideal for hiking and biking, but you’ll need a car to get down into the town of Mill Valley. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect home for our family and we hope to rent this home again. Highly recommended!!!

Accessible Seclusion. Unrivalled Mountain Top Views.

Overall great experience. Beautiful and creative space that's stocked with everything you need from an "away" home. It's a short 10 minute drive down to Mill Valley (road is a bit challenging in a large SUV rental) and about 40 minutes from downtown San Fran... great if you want to go play all day and come back and relax. We ventured into the city for a few days and spent the rest of or time enjoying the house and nearby activities. Mountain hiking out the front door, sunrises and sunsets from the hot tub, and homecooked family dinners were great. I did find myself wishing that the fridge door opened from the opposite side... but that's the only improvement I can think of. :-) Enjoy! Shane

Paradise in every way

Honestly, I want to write a terrible review just so no one else will stay at this AMAZING home. Dan and Dani were welcoming in every way and thought of everything. The house is well stocked with everything needed for cooking, entertaining, and just chilling. Mostly though, the views simply cannot be beat. The view of Mt. Tam from the master is divine and the views from the deck that wraps around the house never get old, particularly as the weather patterns change from a foggy morning to a sunny afternoon. Seeing the city lights from San Fran sparkle in the distance is super cool. We stayed with our three kids and everyone was super comfortable. Great beds, pillows and linens. They LOVED watching TV outside under the heatlamps at night. We couldn't have been happier with our month-long stay. Oh, and the hiking trails just minutes from the house are varied and gorgeous. This home is worth the splurge as few homes can replicate what is offered. We cannot wait to return! Thank you Dan and Dani for everything.

Wonderful house, wonderful views

This was a lovely house to stay in for a week, & host Danielle was super. In the southern entry end of Marin County, north of San Francisco & north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Main highway Rte 101 was 25-30 minutes away. There was easy access down the narrow winding roads to the lovely waterside towns of Sausalito and Tiburon, and the upscale suburban restaurants & shopping of Mill Valley, Corte Madera, Larkspur, Kentfield, etc. The views from this hilltop home were amazing; usually we could see San Francisco & the bay way out in the distance; twice we woke up to mostly fog curling over a nearby ridge, but by midday the fog had burned away. Loved the kitchen, the eating areas, our bedrooms spread out on three levels, and the hot tub off one of the decks. There are also hiking trails all around (but I forgot to bring my hiking boots). One bit of advice: upon initial arrival, have one member of your party get out & help guide your car into the steep driveway; so you can learn how the driveway first turns (& then goes straight to the house). Overall our party of four (adults ages 36 - 72) really enjoyed our stay; it was a great place for a family get-together.

Amazing home with incredible views

We had an incredible stay at this spectacular home. The home itself is gorgeous, with a beautiful and well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms, etc. But the views are the real stars, with downtown San Francisco and the bay in one direction and Mt. Tam in the other. And there are so many comfortable outdoor areas from which to enjoy them—plus overhead heaters for cool mornings and evenings. The home is very private but not isolated. Downtown Mill Valley is charming—lots of great restaurants and shops. The owners and property manager were wonderful to work with and very accessible. Highly recommend this home. We did not want to leave and will absolutely be back!!

Resort above the clouds

This is a resort like house on a high mountain in Mill Valley with a breathtaking view and spectacular outdoor spaces. perfect for a family wishing to relax and enjoy outdoor activities, trails are accessible directly from the house. Dan and Danielle, the property owners are a wonderful couple, we met them upon our arrival, they were in the house making sure everything is well prepared for us because of our long stay. We hope to be back next summer, Thanks Dan and Danielle for the opportunity to stay at your wonderful house. We highly recommend this place

SPECTACULAR

This is truly one of the most spectacular homes I have ever been in, let alone been able to call my own for a week. How generous of Dan and Danielle to share it with the rental community. The home is perfect in every way -- clean, modern, comfortable, spacious and expertly appointed. And the views are absolutely unbelievable -- San Francisco and the entire Bay Area to one side and Mt Tam to the other. Hiking & mtn biking literally out the front door = incredible. We were lucky to have fantastic weather, and while we longed to see the crazy & powerful fog pouring over the mountain, we were grateful for clear skies both day and night. Overall, this is an extremely special place.

We have lived in Mill Valley since 1999 after re-locating from NYC. Danielle and I have 2 daughters - Madison and Kiele - that are now attending college in Florida and Los Angeles. We absolutely love everything about Mill Valley. The weather is nearly perfect and everything we like to do is within a 3 hour drive. Surfing at Stinson, biking and hiking Mt. Tam, road biking Napa from vineyard to vineyard or hanging in Tahoe at the lake or Squaw Valley.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We spent 15 years living in the redwoods which was magical in many ways, but ultimately we got tired of the dampness and lack of sunshine. We had always dreamed of living in the sunshine with big views and waited for the right opportunity. We looked for two years before finding this house. It really provides the sense of solitude, expansiveness yet still close enough to town to enjoy the community and all of our friends. There is nothing quite like spending the afternoon hiking/biking and then coming home to a nap in the sun on the deck, a sunset bbq with wine and a late night bbq with friends.
