Dissatisfied

When we arrived to the property the smell in the lobby was not pleasant, once entered into our room we noticed what seemed to be light signs of black mold all along the ceiling that progressed as we stayed over the next few days, the room wasn’t that clean as there was still dirt and sand on floors. Shower water stayed constantly running even off, the mildew smell was horrible but the views were to die for. I also notified Kristin through email of these matters as it’s very serious and unsanitary. Otherwise great location to get around and walk out to beach access.

Hotel

There was hardly any staff at the hotel . The fire department had to come for an alarm and even yelled at the hotel because there was no help anywhere . It was dirty and nasty not clean !!!!!the pools were dirty the areas around the pool were dirty !!! There was never no parking never no help . The room itself the kitchen was very nice and updated but nothing else was . The furniture was very outdated and ripped up . The beds had mold as well as the walls also . The skidding glass door was very hard to open and shut . The kitchen chairs were dirty with dirt . Mold I don’t know what it was . Being on the beach was the best part of the stay but unfortunately the room and hotel was not a good experience . It said you had WiFi but the hotel WiFi never worked . I did not hear one person actually happy with any of it . The registration was full of people complaining about bugs and the hotel . For the price of this rental I definitely could have stayed at a much better place . I took pictures in case they were needed !!!

I would not recommend staying at Sea Mist, and especially this exact property rented by Kristin. It was dirty, so much so that we had to wear flip flops to even take a shower. The lock situation was difficult and the area is not safe, so you had to keep trying to get it to lock. It is advertised as ocean front however it is one of the few properties that you cannot really leave from that side and walk to the beach because there is no way to lock the room up. I walked to a store and bought cleaning wipes and wiped everything down just so my son could have a snack at the table, which was very grimy. There were black spots on the wall and shower curtain, which appear to be mold. Definitely would not waste my money, and I personally think the owner should spend a few nights there to see if she could actually sleep, because I sure had a hard time.

Moldy

While the view was great, the walls, lamp shades and even mirrors had lots of black mildew/mold. The bedding was sandy, as if it hadn’t been laundered and smelled sour. We actually left two days early.

Good for price

Overall it was a good place to stay. Kristin was quick to get back to me with any question I had. The first time we used the shower it took 30mins for the water to drain and I brought it to her attention. The next day it was fixed. The place was a little dated but it worked for us. I do wish it would have been a bit cleaner. We found a press on nail on the floor when we arrived. The shower curtain was pretty old/dirty and so was some of the bedding. Don’t look under the bed either, you can tell it doesn’t get any attention in the cleaning process. All this wasn’t a deal breaker for us but it would’ve been nice if it was a bit cleaner. Also, the only way the sliding door locks is with the bar.

Not the Worst, but not close to the best

The room was nice, but the only thing that gives it a 3 star instead of a 1 or 2 was being on the ground floor right on the ocean. The sheets were not soft and were very uncomfortable. The cleanliness of the room was not top notch especially during Covid-19 times (there was a spill on the fridge when we arrived and the butter knife drawer had something sticky in it). Because this was a room in a hotel, we were always confused on who to talk to for concerns or issues. Was definitely more stress than we wanted during our stay.
