Welcome to Spruce Nest, a charming vacation retreat remodeled in 2019. Designed for comfort and privacy, it’s perfect for couples, families, or friends traveling together.

The home features:
• Two king suites (one on each floor)
• Queen sofa bed
• 2½ bathrooms
• Large entryway
• Open living and dining areas
• Fully equipped kitchen

Located on a quiet dead-end street, you’ll enjoy a peaceful setting while staying close to everything.

A scenic trail near the end of the street follows Butcher Knife Creek and leads to a dog park about a block away.

Downtown is about a 10-minute walk with local shops, restaurants, and access to the Yampa River’s paved walking and biking trail. Strawberry Park Hot Springs and Buffalo Pass are just a 15–20 minute drive.

Quiet, convenient, and close to it all.

We absolutely loved our stay here and wish we had longer! Plenty of space for 2 adults, 2 kids, and our dog. We were able to walk everywhere and barely used our car thanks to the perfect location in Old Town. This will definitely be our new Steamboat go-to when we come back.

Wonderful location & amazing host! Tom went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable - even helping us out with a flat tire. The house is in a quiet neighborhood. We brought our dog and loved the proximity to the dog park. The house was well appointed with everything we needed and it was a quick 10 minute walk into downtown. We loved staying here. The house was cleaned, organized and the host had everything we needed.The host was available any time if we needed anything. We loved that the house was close to downtown and we could walk there. Also it was very convenient to had a dog park that was a few blocks away. We definitely will be back.

Tom was one of the best hosts I have ever worked with. He has all the little touches and even 2 beers on tap! He has fans for the hot days and blankets for dogs. There is even a half bath and huge dining table. I just have to say WOW! We cannot wait to come back. We also walked to DT easily in 8 minutes!

Beautiful home, great location.

We loved our stay at the Spruce Nest! Honestly, there are a million places to stay in Steamboat, but I dont think any of them score 5's like this one. You can walk to the bus for skiing, walk to downtown for dinner, relax in a quiet neighborhood, and Tom, the property manager was super communicative. Small side note, the beds are the most comfortable you'll ever stay in. I am literally going to buy the same sheets for my room!

Great stay in a great location

Property is in fantastic shape. Tom is very responsive for any questions. It’s hard to beat the location in Old Town with Butcherknife creek and trail nearby for the dog and downtown nearby for the people. Just great.

I moved to Steamboat Springs in 1979 because of the beauty of the surrounding area, outdoor activities and good economic potential. So far, I have not been dissatisfied. My wife and I love riding ATVs in the summer, hiking and rafting down the Yampa. We would like to share The Spruce Nest with you special places to see, feel and experience. Like the Hot Springs.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

My wife and I purchased this property about 25 years as a long term rental. In 2018 we decided to remodel it, yet keep the historic character. We left the two-story building intact, added and entry, master bed room and bath, powder room/laundry and dining area. We also remodeled the kitchen and added a beer tap. There is all new furniture and carpet. The exterior was also re-landscaped. It's got a great location - 10 minute walk from downtown and on a dead-end street near the edge of town. What more could be better? Come and see for yourself!

In the spring/summer 2022, we will be remodeling the back portion of the duplex for a vacation rental. It will have two master bedrooms/baths on the ground floor, with the living room, kitchen and powder bath on the second floor. A partially covered deck will complement the living space on the second floor. A carport with a covered walkway will provide protection from rain/snow from the parking area to the unit for all seasons. It should be available late summer 2022.
