This is a brand new listing! You are going to love the Holly and Matt suite. This unique, octagon-shaped, two story suite is set behind an 1875 Italianate mansion perched high atop one of Petersburg's many hills. There is a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee/tea station and serene views from your second story screened in porch. This suite is perfect for a 2 night visit up to an extended stay.

My bride Shelby and I got married this last weekend. I reserved one of the rooms for her and her friends to have a pretty spot to take pictures and safe place to all stay together.The rooms were: clean, cozy and safe.The hosts were absolutely wonderful! We had 6 inches of snow on the ground and they reached out to ask if they could help us shovel and clear cars.Shelby and I hope to stay here again near our first anniversary. If you’re looking for a place in the area we would highly recommend.

Very unique space! We only had two of us but could have one or two others. Bed upstairs was very comfortable. Used the downstairs space to get ready for our wedding. Rustic brick and nice furniture made for good photos.

Perfect for big groups like ours

Few places in the Midwest can put this many people comfortably under one roof in a charming location. It's worth the drive to Petersburg.

The charming Holly & Matt suite worked so well for our visit- immaculately clean, very comfortable bed, easy access, and Becca, the property manager is friendly and tuned in to guests ' needs. We have already booked our next stay.

Very comfortable to go back to Three Pines. Becca is a wonderful host. Hope to return another time to enjoy the history of the area and enjoy coffee on the cute screened porch at the Holly & Matt Suite.

Quaint and quiet!

My hubby and I needed a staycation from the kids and this was perfect. Not too far away but felt far enough. Cozy quarters with a lovely balcony. We will definitely return.

So much more than expected!

We stayed in the Holly and Matt Suite a beautifully restored octagon building with up and downstairs. Both bedrooms were charming, and there was a screened in upstairs porch where we listened to crickets and songbirds while sipping wine (or morning coffee). We loved every minute of our relaxing, lovely stay. We’ll definitely come back.

Mid-week get away.

My wife and I booked the Holly and Matt Suite on Tuesday and Wednesday to break up the winter cabin fever. The Suite was absolutely beautiful, spacious and very clean. Becca, the property manager was friendly and very accommodating. The mansion is gorgeous. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

Great add on in addition to the house

We needed a bit extra space in addition to renting the main house and the Holly & Matt Suite was perfect. Even on its own it is such a great space with a coffee maker in the room and the upstairs porch to enjoy your morning coffee on. We would gladly come back here and rent the Holly & Matt Suite again.

Perfect cosy and delightful hideaway at Three Pines Petersburg

Woo hoo ……. We loved staying at the Octagon house at Three Pines which is set in a peaceful secluded location surrounded by trees and gardens on the outskirts of Petersburg . This is a really special property ……. a place to chill and nest into with all you need for a stress free stay , tastefully furnished , comfortable beds , balcony separate shower room and bathroom . We enjoyed the easy access to Lincolns New Salem and Springfield with all the wonderful associated Abraham Lincoln historical monuments and the fabulous Dana- Thomas house . Becca the host is very friendly and was on hand and replied immediately to any questions and we had, my husband and I have no hesitation in highly recommending the Octagon House as a super place to stay .

Great vacation

Beautiful suite on a stunning property. The neighborhood is great for walks. The downtown has everything you need. It's a nice drive to Springfield. There's plenty to do in the area. The host is super accommodating and worked with us to ensure an excellent visit.

Great getaway!

What a fun and creative property! Rooms connected to a historic mansion is a very innovative use of the property and the separate rooms are designed to maximize privacy and have a lot of personality. Becca, the property manager, provides 5 star support! Great experience. I'll definitely be back.

Completely exceeds expectations!

We arrived late one autumn evening to a super seamless entry/check-in. In the morning we awoke to the pure magic that is the Three Pines mansion. The suite was charming, clean, and full of amenities, including great coffee. The mansion on a hill was a stately and enchanting retreat. We can't wait to go back!

Aubrey is a terrific resource if you have any questions about the history of the mansion or things to do in the area. With that said, she also has a great respect for the privacy needs of our guests.
