Completely remodeled for comfort and convenience, this pet-friendly and family-friendly home is situated in the heart of Abraham Lincoln country, only 10 minutes from Springfield, IL.

Nearby are wineries, historical sites and antiques waiting to be discovered. The nationally acclaimed Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum are located in Springfield, an easy ten-minute drive through rural vistas. While here, visit Lincoln's Home National Historic Site, Lincoln's Tomb, the Lincoln Depot, Frank Lloyd Wright's Dana Thomas House, and more! Pick up lunch at the historic Maid-Rite Sandwich Shop - the first drive-thru in the nation. In the summer season, you'll find an abundance of roadside stands selling fresh produce and melons. Bike along the country roads, with bicycles provided (seasonally) for your enjoyment. This home is a short, fifteen-minute drive from New Salem State Historical Site where Lincoln tended store and surveyed the surrounding area.

Home Amenities: This single story home with a basement, has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, wall-mount smart TV with live streaming, and USB charging stations on each nightstand. You'll also find 'Smart' outlets in the kitchen for device charging, Google Home technology throughout the home, and a completely renovated bathroom, with an LED shower tower boasting five, multi-function body jets, a handheld showerhead and rain head for the ultimate shower experience. The living room hosts a sleeper sofa, recliner and chaise lounge, fireplace, and a 52" smart TV with live streaming. In the summer, a large yard, nightly viewings of deer in the back pasture, along with the coyotes and owls serenading and fire-pit access makes for the perfect country experience!

The fully-equipped farmhouse kitchen design features brand new, stainless-steel appliances, including a dishwasher, a custom coffee corner, with a K-cup/coffee pot combination, electric can opener, cookware, food storage options, barware, dishes and flatware for 12 and more!

This property was perfect for our weekend getaway. Close enough to stores but felt far enough away to feel secluded, which is exactly what we needed. Kirsten was very friendly and super responsive. Would definitely return in the future.

We had a great stay, we only stayed 2 nights. It had everything we needed and I really appreciated the Google nest. I was pretty nice to be able to have white noise playing at night. We did have an issue with the tv during the storm, but that was out of everyone’s control. If we come back to Springfield, we would try to book this place again.

Cute little house!

We stayed here as a family for almost a week, and loved it! It was quiet, cozy, and had every amenity we needed. Still very close to Springfield while being in a peaceful, rural setting. We would stay here again!!

Peaceful country retreat close to Springfield.

We really enjoyed our stay as we checked out all things Lincoln in Springfield. Only 15 to 20 min drive to downtown! Quiet countryside setting surrounded by fields and cornfields. Saw several deer in the fields out back and one right off the front porch. Communication with the host was great and check-in process was super easy. Great price and very clean and comfortable environment. Also, the shower with the jets was very popular with the kids. Would definitely stay there again if in the area!

Great place for a getaway

Enjoyed my (solo) stay here while taking a 4-day leave. I wanted a quiet place to read and relax, while also being close enough to the city to do a few things here and there. Comfortable, clean, and convenient. Would without hesitation stay here again should the occasion arise.

Beautifully Serene Stay

What a wonderful property. Super cozy and very tech equipped. We loved the morning sunrise over the fields - my dog especially. The walks were glorious. If you’re staying in Springfield, I highly recommend this peaceful getaway over a hotel.

The property was amazing! It is the perfect getaway for a relaxing and quiet stay. My fur baby, Bella, loved her stay too. The property is great for pets. It was very clean, and well-stocked with amenities and supplies. It is also an easy and short drive into the city. Everything is conveniently located, within about 15 - 30 minutes to area shops and restaurants. Kirsten is a wonderful host! She was always available if we had a questions and was very prompt in replying. They were also very thoughtful and kind to bring us some fresh sweet corn. They were very tasty. And everyone in the city and towns that we visited were so friendly. We definitely would stay here again and recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. Thank you!!

Peaceful and comfortable

We thought this place was renovated beautifully with a cozy home feel. It was very clean and had everything we needed and more. The luxury shower was amazing! We have zero complaints and look forward to staying again. Kirsten responds almost immediately to messages.

Everything you need within 15-18 minutes

Clean home. Kirsten was very responsive to our questions, on the phone or through Vrbo. Outside is very dark so if you are traveling with dogs, I suggest bringing a flashlight for early morning/late night outings. Very quiet area. Beds and pillows were on the soft side, noting if people like this. We loved that the home was close to everything that we needed; stores, restaurants, trails for dogs, and site seeing.

The home is located in a quiet country setting. Very clean, very pleasant. We witnessed some beautiful sunsets as we were fixing our suppers.The home is close to Springfield with the Lincoln museum and library and the National Lincoln Home.Both were very much enjoyed by us, and highly recommended.
