This is an inviting 2-bedroom ground-floor condo in Port Aransas Texas with two shared pools and a boardwalk to the beach. The open kitchen has stainless steel appliances, spacious granite counter-tops, stocked with pots, pans and utensils for your culinary needs. There is seating for three at the dining table and three additional stools at the bar so everyone can eat together. The adjacent living area consists of a couch, two recliners and two accent chairs over geometric-patterned rugs. There is a wall-mounted flatscreen TV, cable, Wi-Fi and a large window that overlooks the private patio. You can step out on the private patio to sip your morning coffee while looking at the courtyard and pool area. The master bedroom (BR1) has a King-sized bed with beautiful maroon and gold bedspread to make you feel like royalty. With a wall-mounted flatscreen TV, you don't have to miss your favorite shows. The ensuite bathroom has a tiled, corner stand-alone shower and double vanities and granite countertops. The second bedroom (BR2) consists of two Full sized beds, wall-mounted TV and dresser and a luggage rack. A second full hall bathroom with tub/shower has elegant tile details and a gold shower curtain. Amenities include TV, wireless internet, picnic areas, laundry facilities, 2 boardwalks to the beach, 2 shared community pools. Located near downtown Port Aransas, you have easy access to the golf course, shopping, restaurants, and beach access with walkways over the dunes.

Island Retreat has been a favorite of ours when visiting Port A. We've stayed here many times over the years. This particular unit had everything we needed. I would suggest a look at some very noisy beds that are not particularly comfortable. One thing that did occur was with the kitchen ceiling lights. They inexplicably went out. I flipped the switch and nothing. Then about ten minutes later I tried again and they came on. Just an FYI. All in all, for a quick getaway, we had a great time. We will return to Island Retreat.

We had a wonderful stay at this Port Aransas condo! The location is perfect—just a short-ish boardwalk stroll over the dunes to the beach, and close to downtown shops and restaurants. The condo itself was very inviting, clean, and well-stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, with modern appliances and plenty of counter space.The living area was comfortable and spacious, with plenty of seating for our group, and we loved being able to step right out to the private patio to enjoy morning coffee. The master bedroom felt like a retreat with its king bed and ensuite bathroom, while the second bedroom was great with two full beds.The pool was well-kept and a great way to relax after a beach day. Overall, this condo offered everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We’d definitely stay here again!

Best thing I can say is the location is good

The location is good....that's about all I can say about this place. The door code didn't work. Took a visit from a maintenance person, no explanation. Living room furniture is old and uncomfortable. Beds were worse! Had to be 10 years old....old, soft and creeky. We all woke up with sore backs. Was not advised of the renovations going on next door. Hammering and noise the entire stay. Not a relaxing vacation as we had envisioned. Plus the outlets in the "master suite" bath didn't work.....

Longtime guest of Island Retreat

Over all we have always enjoyed IR and have stayed in this unit many times.. and several others on the property… although inflation is at an all time high and also due to Harvey 5 yrs ago I am very disappointed in the third part bookings. House keeping fee … two tax fees and other charges . Probably be looking for other options with less added on fees .

My daughter turned 18 while we were there. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was clean and safe and in a great location. Would love to do it again

Our kids loved being so close to the pool

We’ve stayed at several condos at Island Retreat, but this one is by far our favorite. We really enjoyed being on the ground floor and so close to the outside accommodations. Pool, picnic tables, bbq pits, boardwalk, etc.

Disappointed

We arrived to Port A early so we could find our place of stay then went to the beach. I contacted the place to see if we could get in a little early, but was not allowed to check in until 4pm. I realize that was the check in time, but the places we have stayed before always lets us in before the set time. After we where allowed to go in we noticed the freezer handle was broken loose at the bottom, a light fixture was broken there was only 1 or 2 pc. of silverware no knives, and the blender was very dirty. Not to mention how old it was. It looked like something from the 1970’s or 80’s. Also make sure you have any and all utensils, condiments, coffee, ect… there is absolutely nothing there. The Master bathroom appeared clean until I took my shower. There was a massive amount if hair in it It was covering the drain and there was a large clump in the corner of the shower. Also the other bathroom had a loose toilet seat. Other than these thing we had a great time. However when we go back next year, we will definitely be looking for a different place to stay.

Wonderful condo complex close to beach

The property was great, close to pool and closest condo to the boardwalk. Very clean, had plenty of towels. Was easy to get in and out of. Only issues were the management companies app did not work, and there were little things like condo was advertised for 6 people but had only 5 forks, 5 plates, etc... Also would be helpful to have a text morning of departure with items you're supposed to do before leaving. The onsite staff I met was very helpful though. Overall I'd stay at this condo with this company again.

Great place to stay right by the beach

Overall nice and clean property. Close and easy access to the beach. The only improvement I would suggest is investing in new beds for guests. But I would definitely recommend and return as a guest again.

Improvements for property

I was a little disappointed because the TV in living room could not be hooked up to cable so it did not work, The dryer did not work and we called, no one came to fix it. The shower in the MBR barely sprayed water so we could only use the hall bathroom. The toilet in the MBR was running and would not stop, we were able to get it to stop by moving the ball inside. You could hardly get the back door open to go outside to the patio. The place did smell clean but I have never been a place with so many issues. Just wanted you to know.

Great unit, very clean, super easy check in process!

We visit Port A once a year to once every two years, for the last decade plus. This was the easiest check in process ever. The unit was nicely decorated, very well maintained, well stocked with items any guests would need. The internet service was fast and reliable and very easy to connect to... This property management company has it all going on in all the right areas. If I were to purchase any property in the Port Aransas area I would use this company to manage it and I would love to own one of these units... we will be staying here in the future... Very well done folks! You got my vote... Dave

Life in Paradise!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Red comforter in master was replaced with a red quilt that was dirty and stained. Unit had hodgepodge furniture/decor and upholstery was stained and dirty. Patio was dirty with broken table and to many plastic chairs. Would not stay in unit 27 again. However, Island Retreat grounds and beach were beautiful. Thanks
