Escape to this 4 bed/2 bath home surrounded by National Forest Land. The perfect place to do relax & enjoy the outdoors. Hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling are right outside your backdoor. Relax and take in the mountain and forest view from the large fully fenced deck. Located 5 miles from Heavenly Village and 4 miles from Lake Tahoe, you can easily access all that South Lake Tahoe has to offer.
There are three bedrooms, one bathroom and an open concept living room/dining room/kitchen on the main floor. Upstairs you will find a full guest suite with its own bathroom, king sized bed, wet bar, couch, TV, and stand-up/sit-down desk with dual monitors and Bluetooth keyboard and mouse so you can plug-in and work premotely from this mountain retreat.

Family getaway

We loved our stay . Views are amazing location is perfect. Home clean and cozy. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife from all the windows. We would recommend and can’t wait to go back again soon.

Had a really great stay!

We stayed here over a weekend where we went snowboarding at Heavenly. Had a great time, and enjoyed the property. The garage was really useful for storing the cars. Very spacious and relaxing space. Would stay here again.

Top Notch Mountain Cabin

Absolutely stellar. The location, the host and cabin itself were fantastic. Smooth sailing every step of the way. The host was communicative and kind. Highly recommend if you're heading out to South Lake.

Perfect family retreat

We enjoyed our stay at Pioneer Trail. The home is remodeled and perfect layout for a family it six. It is pet friendly, hardwood floors throughout and tile kitchen. We loved all of the amenities. Very well stocked, from the coffee to sanitizers to abundant supply of towels. The beds were so comfortable. After a long day of skiing/snowboarding we took in takeout from the local burger restaurant and enjoyed the cozy fireplace in the family room and watching Netflix movies. The back deck overlooking the forest was perfect for a morning cup of coffee. The house backs up to a trail system and was great for a walk with our dog and with our family. We occasionally saw people walking and a cross-country skier. We will definitely be back. Best VRBO in South Lake Tahoe so far. Thank you for sharing your home.

Lots of space - awesome Master suite - Convenient - Quiet

We looked at a lot of other options before choosing the "Family Friendly Mountain Retreat" and I am glad we made this choice. Communication was excellent, ample parking, quiet and lots of room (deck, master suite, kitchen, living room, 4 bedrooms, garage, full size Washer, dryer, Grill, etc). Well maintained and clean home with comfortable beds - near enough to Lake Tahoe yet far enough away as well from the crowds. The owners did a great job of providing the essentials as well as many of the staple items (above and beyond what was expected) saving us time and money of having to shop for items needed which is greatly appreciated. Kitchen items covered the spectrum well and internet was completely reliable and easy to connect to. Good assortment of games and access to many entertainment channels and even a gaming console. We would most certainly stay here again and highly recommend. Every one in our family enjoyed this rental from our teenager to grandma! A very good value vs. hotels!

Nice clean home. Easy check-in

We had 6 adults and 2 children staying at this property. The home location was perfect for us. Close by airport, wedding venue and less than 10 minutes to grocery stores. My husband and I stayed in the upstairs bedroom. Bed was very comfortable. The other 2 families used the 3 downstairs bedrooms which they said were also comfy. Our grandchildren enjoyed the x-box they had upstairs as well. The back patio is very nice and has a gas fire pit. There is also a nice walking path behind the house. We will definitely stay here again.

Spacious getaway

The cabin had everything we needed. The kitchen was well appointed. The only meal we cooked was a big breakfast otherwise we dined out. It was super clean. The beds were comfortable with really nice sheets and bedding. There were three of us and four bedrooms. The master bedroom is huge. The living space has high ceilings and lots of windows to take advantage of the view of the woods. The back deck has comfortable seating with a fire pit. We did not use the fire pit because we were out there during the day ,we took a hike on the trail. Communication was excellent. Kristina got back to me right away with questions. I will definitely return to this cabin!

Awesome location, fantastic house

House was just what we needed. 3 good bedrooms downstairs and one really nice master en-suite upstairs. Fireplace was nice, great communication.

A nice getaway in a beautiful home.

My family and I enjoyed staying in this property which was very comfortable, scenic, and spacious. We had everything we needed there to prepare meals in the kitchen and the beds were comfortable for sleeping. I especially loved the large back deck and the trails nearby. My grandson did not want to leave ! Thank you Kristina. :)
