Located in a peaceful and safe residential neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe, the home is adjacent to National Forest land and is the perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts — easy access to some of the best trails, golf courses and ski resorts in the Tahoe Basin! Nearby trails lead to meadows, mountains, and rivers. Looking for a relaxed adventure? Feel like a local and spend the day tubing or kayaking down the river with picturesque views of the surrounding forest.

The Tahoe Bear Chalet is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Wake up to serene forest views and enjoy a morning hike steps from the property as you bask in the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. After a day of swishing through fresh powder or swimming in the lake, what’s more relaxing than steaming your sore muscles in the hot tub? But this isn’t just any old standard jacuzzi, instead, it feels more like a hidden private hot spring that you stumbled upon in the forest! Flip on the outdoor string lights, grab a glass of your favorite California wine and enjoy the quiet serenity of this truly magical experience.

In the mornings, the Thermador heater fans in both bathrooms will keep you nice and toasty as you get ready for the day. Start your day off right by making waffles, bacon and coffee for your group — the fully-stocked kitchen provides you with all the appliances and tools you’ll need! Large sliding glass doors and windows fill the house with a beautiful amount of natural light. Turn on the electric fireplace and curl up on the plush sofa for movie night on the 55” smart tv or disconnect and play board/card games while spending quality time with your family and friends. Sip hot cocoa on one of the 3 expansive decks as you breathe in the crisp icy air. During the warmer months, the sun-drenched patio furniture and 8-person alfresco table encourage you to fire up the BBQ, play outdoor games (ping pong, bean bag toss and large Jenga), and spend more time admiring the great outdoors. We’re lucky that the property backs into a nature preserve, so you’re likely to spot jackrabbits, blue jays, chipmunks and other wildlife on a daily basis.

This unique 3 bedroom 2 bath home comfortably sleeps 8 and is surrounded by snow-capped pines throughout the property, offering tree views from every window. Inspired by its mountain surroundings and the biophilic design philosophy (incorporating natural elements to create a closer connection to nature, decrease stress levels and improve health), the home seeks to bring the outdoors in by incorporating a mix of wood tones, rich textures and natural elements to create unique design features that reinforce our innate connection with nature. Since studies show that spending 72hrs in nature will reduce stress levels by 70%, the home’s nature-focused interior design and multiple outdoor living areas will have you feeling refreshed and revived by the end of your trip!
