The Cottage on Hazel

Built in 1924, this cottage has all the charm of yesterday's craftsmanship with the comfort expected by today's traveler.

The entire home is covered by wifi and each bedroom features the following:

BEDROOM 1
Queen size bed with large closet

BEDROOM 2
King size bed. Closet is locked for cleaners, but full size wardrobe available for hang up clothes

BEDROOM 3
Two twin size beds. 43” smart TV (no cable). NOTE: This is a full bedroom with closet, but access to the bathroom is through bedroom 1 or 2.

The living spaces are equally spacious and comfortable.

Kitchen - All appliances, utensils, dishes, and pots/pans for cooking.

Living room - Sofa, loveseat, and chair provides plenty of seating for everyone. 43” smart TV (no cable).

Dining Room - Amish-built dining table with seating for 6

Laundry Room - Full-sized washer and dryer (new in late 2020)

Back porch - large screened in area to enjoy the night sounds without all the insect bites.

Front porch - Relaxing swing and bench that's perfect for the early riser to enjoy coffee or a relaxing place to wind down for the evening.

Covered Parking for two vehicles.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place was clean, cute, and newly remodeled, which made it feel fresh and comfortable. The fully stocked kitchen was a huge plus and made everything so convenient. It’s also located in a quiet neighborhood, which made for a very relaxing stay. We would happily stay here again.

I loved the old cottage feel. I loved the kittchen was spacious and easy to cook in. Having the laundry room was so convenient and very nice. The patio porch was so nice to sit out on. We all loved it very much. The bedrooms were nice lots of space. Beds very comfortable. The bathroom was nice. When we come back we would definitely like to stay again.

Lack of communication

The owner doesn’t reply back when needed, each time I needed to contact the owner I had to get Vrbo to have her respond. Television didn’t work in the living room, the owner wouldn’t speak with me over the telephone to resolve the issue, after two days she tried resolving it by texting, television still didn’t work. The air in two of the rooms didn’t have air coming from the vents to sleep comfortably. To make sure the property was secured when leaving had to leave from the backdoor. Owner need to make serious adjustments to make customer comfortable for future stays…..,,
Network issue
Didn’t accept the password that she instructed to use.
Wire was not hooked appropriately hanging

Our home away from home!

We have stayed here several times over last few years. Always such a comfie stay! We enjoy our walks in the the quaint neighborhood as well. Love the swing on the front porch. Perfect place!

Lovely stay

The house is charming, beautiful and everything stated and more. It is comfortable, well stocked and a really beautiful home. This was our second stay and both stays have been great. Location is great, convenient to pretty much everything and the neighborhood is filled with beautifully restored older homes. As long as it is available it will be our go to when we are staying in Texarkana.

Great stay

The beds were all comfortable, which was great. Comfy couches, all the basics you need in the kitchen, and laundry can be done if you want. Front and back porches have furniture for visiting with family and friends. My only issue was when the lawn service showed up kinda early Saturday morning, that being said they were fast and efficient in doing thier work and moving on to their next job. The house is only a few minutes away from downtown where we spent quite a bit of our time. We would definitely stay again.

Total Charmer

This cottage has been lovingly restored and beautifully maintained. Our family enjoyed gathering and spending time together in this comfy space in a lovely area of Texarkana. The beds and pillows were so comfortable, and the home was amply stocked.

I don't want to give a poor review but I will say that I wish I would've chosen a hotel in this case. The cons outweighed the pros.

Spectacular and quaint!

Huge property. Beautifully decorated. Spacious kitchen with everything you need. Big laundry room. Extremely comfortable bed. Quiet neighborhood. Original hardwood floors. Absolutely would stay there again if returning to Texarkana. Would have given it six stars, if allowed!

Wonderful stay!

The house was everything advertised and then some. Lovely, comfortable, well stocked, nice neighborhood and even decorated for Christmas! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had hoped to enjoy the porch and porch swing but the weather was cold and wet. Something to look forward to next time.

My only suggestions are a box of Kleenex would be nice, a dish towel would be nice so I could wash and dry our dishes and a night light in the bathroom would be nice. We were comfortable and enjoyed our stay

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

House was moldy and smelled of mildew. The neighborhood is definitely not great or safe in our opinion. Wife left with kids and stayed at another property as the moldy environment would create breathing issues for my kids. Contacted property manager and still waiting for response. Wife and kids did not end up staying at the property. Misrepresented description and very appalled that this property came with high ratings. Vrbo did not respond at this point either.

If I could give more than five stars...

First and foremost communication with the owner was exceptional! The house itself was great too. Charm galore and all the extras we look for in a stay... extra blankets, plenty of towels, cookware, large kitchen, and very roomy! Definitely recommend!

Perfect little bungalow

This was the perfect place. I had coffee each morning on the porch swing and I was able to work during the day with good internet speed. Evenings were nice, again, on the porch swing and the bed was comfortable at night. I’d stay again.

Cute Cottage!

Such a quaint place! Swing on front porch is such a welcome! Photos do not do it any justice! It's much larger than seems! Neighborhood was nice and quiet. Snacks were even left out for us and everything is provide for you. Loved that they had the duel style coffee maker also! Very nice overall! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
