Great location needs TLC Refresh

The house has great potential if the upkeep was maintained and a few enhancements made . The house was very clean. Unfortunately, some of the kitchen cabinets were in need of repair, outdoor deck needs painting/sanding, some window screens missing upstairs and the family room ceiling fan has only one speed. The pics on the site are not current, pool area does not have umbrellas , pool water level issue needs to be addressed, limited out door seating for guests, there was no outdoor furniture on front veranda, pics of rooms do not show window air conditioners( located at headboard in master and upstairs bedroom, kitchen, very noisy). Pool chemicals stored under bar table in back yard and should be moved to a more safe and secured location. The pool filter is also located next to the master bedroom, adding to the noise level day and night. The Wi-Fi information provided at check-in through the VRBO site not current. The location is perfect to enjoy the many outdoor attractions from Lake George to Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Lake Tupper and more.

Great Property!

Location and amenities (pool, hot tub, grill, space!) were fantastic! Place is a little rustic, but, plenty of space, beds and bathrooms for a group!

Great house and location!

We stayed at the house with friends for presidents weekend and had a great time. The house was nicer than the pictures so we were pleasantly surprised! The kids loved the game room and the proximity to Whiteface mountain and downtown Lake Placid was perfect. We would definitely recommend it!

Vacation

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was absolutely beautiful! The only downfall was there was no toilet paper or paper towels so we needed to run to the store. We did notify the owner and she did apologize for the housekeeping staff. They were supposed to leave some. Other than that we enjoyed the stay.

Wonderful time!

Aviva was so responsive and wonderful to communicate with if we had any questions at all! The house was great, beautiful property while being close to town and skiing. Plenty of space for a group - the kids enjoyed having the downstairs game room and shuffleboard. The main room was lovely with the high ceilings and was right next to the kitchen. Everyone loved having a heated large mud room for boots and jackets before entering the house. We would definitely rent the house again!

Beautiful home in Lake Placid!

The house was perfect for a fall family getaway to Lake Placid. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The hot tub was awesome! With the pool- summer would be even better! The host was super responsive and answered all of my questions quickly.

Location is always the key

The house is perfectly situated to go in any direction. Grounds and house fit in ideally. Had a little trouble with pool but owner kept in contact and worked on the problem. Hope to hear from her soon. Great time!

Awesome family vacation!

The property was perfect for our extended family vacation. 7 adults and 5 children. Best possible location for enjoying hiking, fly fishing, mountain biking and paddle boarding at Lake Placid. Literally 10 minutes in both directions! House was great and the kids had a ball with all the fun activities provided! We enjoyed family dinners and camp fires every evening. We would definitely return!

Needs some TLC/repair

My family (6adults and one infant) rented the home over the long July 4th weekend primarily for the outdoor amenities (pool, hot tub, large yard) The pictures, description and reviews justified the price to me. The fact that the weather was not going to be especially warm made the hot tub and “heated” pool more happily anticipated the days leading up to our vacation. Check in was easy. Upon arrival I noted right off the property was not well cared for. The decks were rough and needs to be stained, there was no furniture outside to lounge in except at the fire pit, the lawn had not been mowed anytime recently and tall weeds grew all around the pool fence on both sides. The interior of the home is lovely with nice details but numerous lightbulbs are blown, screens are missing or not in properly (no ac so you need to be able to open the windows) many of the cupboards don’t close properly (none of them have handles) the master soaker tub is older and needed cleaning, the microwave was in need of replacement, under the kitchen sink was rotted out (looked like a leak) and the upstairs bunk room had a major problem with the bunk bed. Cooking was a bit tricky as there were not a lot of pans or cooking utensils. There was no gas grill just a small charcoal grill. We were very disappointed with the pool area. The hot tub was wonderful but the pool was not heated and there was no furniture except a rusty table set and an old picnic table. The bar area is just a storage area for pool supplies and chemicals. We did make the most of what we had (lots of games to play family fun areas) but when you pay that amount of money it did make it hard for my husband and I (we paid for the vacation for our family) to get the most enjoyment. I did let the contact person know some of my concerns and she said she would speak with cleaning and property management. As we were packing up to leave a lawn company came to cut the grass which was mid calf on us. The home does have many sleeping areas and nice bathrooms. The beds are comfortable and there was an abundance of hot water. The washer and dryer were also very nice. The owners could take a weekend to address many of the issues and perhaps install a pool heater.

Fantastic getaway for the entire family

We absolutely loved our stay at the house with our family and my husband’s extended family, which included an infant and three toddlers. It was a perfect retreat. During our stay, we could not stop commenting on how wonderful and accommodating the house was. Some highlights: top notch cleanliness, super comfy bedding, and a well-equipped kitchen (best VRBO kitchen we have experienced). We loved making s’mores by the fire pit, grilling burgers on the charcoal grill, shooting some hoops in the driveway, relaxing in the hot tub, and swimming in the pool! Tons of older kid/adult games were available that we did not even have the chance to take advantage of. The kids loved the kid loft/play area upstairs! The only downside was there was no toddler-proof lock for entering the pool; however, there was an alarm on the inside door. We made the owner aware of this. Aviva was very easy to communicate with and responsive. Would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay, Aviva!

Winter break in Lake Placid

Fantastic house in a great location. Very comfortably fit 9 people without using the room in the basement that had another 2 double beds. 10 minutes to Lake Placid and 15 minutes to Whiteface. Aviva responded within minutes of every text and was always extremely helpful. Would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay...

Usually, the photos look better than the actual house. In this case, seeing the house in person far surpassed the pictures. The location was excellent, about equidistant to Whiteface Mt. and Main St. in Lake Placid, 13-15 minutes. The house was clean, recently renovated, with radiant heat throughout and easily regulated thermostats, plus a warm gas fireplace. Kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable, outdoor hot tub was relaxing and game room with Foosball and shuffleboard, and other games, was a lot of fun for the 3 teens as well as the adults. Two Smart TVs with Netflix, Hulu, etc., and a beautiful snow capped mountain mural in the living room. Plenty of space, especially during Covid, as we were 3 families. Aviva was very responsive and accommodating, and we all agreed we would rent this house again.

Excellent family stay

This is a wonderful house that is very family friends, with lots of bedrooms, a comfortable kitchen and living area and separate two (!) game rooms space in the basement. Our family especially enjoyed our shuffleboard tournament! :)

Beautiful home in Lake Placid

Aviva was an amazing host and ensured everything was perfect for our weekend getaway. The kitchen was fully stocked allowing us to cook all our meals at the house with ease, the living room and fireplace were ultra cozy, the hot tub added a perfect touch to a snowy night, the bedding was ultra comfy, and the house itself is in a great location and very close to downtown LP and all the wintery attractions. The game room (shuffleboard, foosball and tons of boards games) was also a very nice touch! The property is also very large and has lots of space for cars/parking. Aviva was also so attentive and very easy to reach throughout our whole stay. Would 100% stay here again and recommend this place to our friends and family!
