The Happy Place @ Flint Ridge

Tired of the over crowed city life? The "Happy Place" is a great place to come get peace of mind in the Ozarks! Our fully loaded 1200 sf 2 bedroom 2.5 bathroom cottage sits on 1.25 acers with not a single house in site!! We have a beautiful 200sqf enclosed sunroom With a 400sqf deck to enjoy the valley view out back. River access is only 3-5 minutes away depending on where you want to swim. Flint Ridge Resort is a private gated community with 3 community pools, golf course and Restaurant, river access and float services are offered ON WEEKENDS ONLY (Memorial Day weekend- Labor Day weekend). You will need to call and confirm that your dates will be available and make a reservation. Flint Ridge Security Office requires us to submit the names of all guests and vehicles that will be entering. Guest MUST show guest passes each time entering through the security gate. There is a $200 tailgating fine you will be responsible for if you are issued a citation by the Security officers.

The space
Our cottage is very roomy with the open floor plan. The property is an UNFENCED property. Flint ridge is pet friendly but does have a leash law. There is lots of interesting extra décor to enjoy looking at. We have a awesome enclosed sunroom that is great for reading, chilling and especially great for napping lol. There is a book nook with lots of books for reading. Also there are several board game for your enjoyment as well. One shower is handicap accessible. There are 3 small steps to step up onto the front deck to enter the house. We DO offer WIFI, but not cable. The TVs are smart TVs. We have lots of DVDs and they're a few local channel that the TV picks up. This is more of a place to come disconnect from all the stress of life.

IMPORTANT NOTICE We have 3 surveillance cameras. One on each end of the house outside only. We do not live there. They are for us to monitor the property when not in use. .

Its really is a Happy Place

Truly enjoyed our stay. We didn't get to enjoy all the amenities in Flint Ridge because of the weather, but it was still a great place to hunker down for a cold weather weekend. Cozy and quaint with everything you need. Scottie was tremendous at communicating proactively and responding quickly. Only thing I'd mention was wifi was a bit spotty (both TV and smartphones), which was a bummer since we were doing a lowkey weekend, but it was serviceable. Overall, a wonderful stay and will consider coming back in warmer weather to enjoy more in the area!

The best stay

The vacation home was exactly what it was advertised to be, with comfortable space and well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. The owners have done an excellent job providing little spots of interest and ample outdoor areas for enjoying the view.

Happy, Quiet and Peaceful!

Had just about everything we needed. The place was a little secluded and dark when the sun went down but we enjoyed ourselves immensely. We utilized the kitchen a couple days and everything worked out great. Drove around and checked out the beautiful scenery which we enjoyed. We plan on returning.

The Happy Place lived up to its name.

Very comfortable property, all the ammenities, pleasant, homey, quiet, peaceful all come to mind. Easy to get in and easy to leave. We would love to come back. So close to the Illinois River is a bonus. Surprisingly good dining at the Harvest House in Kansas, Okla. too! Thanks for a great time.

Great weekend on the river

Great place to relax after a day on the river. The back deck is wonderful in the mornings and evenings. Felt great to be back in the woods.

Such a beautiful place with everything you need

Our family stayed 4 nights and it wasn’t long enough. This place has everything you could possibly need, the host really thought of everything, We enjoyed cooking meals and my husband loved grilling. The patio is beautiful and the beds are comfy. We will definitely be back!

Perfect!

The Happy Place is our new happy place! The house was well-equipped, the owner very responsive and helpful. The area is gorgeous, just a short drive to the Illinois river.

Clean well maintained getaway

Cabin is nicely decorated and has just about everything you need to fix all your meals. Time on the deck was relaxing watching the deer and squirrels in the woods. The heated and cooled sunroom was great for those chilly mornings! Scottie was very responsive! We had some trouble getting the gas logs going, Scottie was there in just a few minutes and got us up and running. Would definitely recommend!

Great hidden gem

This property is a great hidden gem in NE Oklahoma. The area and grounds are beautiful. This house was clean, neat, and very accommodating. The back porch was our favorite, it looks out over a large wooded ravine. Overall great stay.

Happy Place

Love the location especially the deer!! Wasn’t to found of the resort and the way they handled things but that has nothing to do with the owner but u still have to deal with the resort if u swim and or decide to float with them. The owner Scottie was always very prompt in replies and very understanding ! Will definitely love to stay again but will choose other places to float and or swim etc…

Great Spot!

Clean, relaxing and comfortable stay! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and woah never expected to have three bathrooms in this place! The reading nook and deck was my favorite though...next time I am bringing a book to leave behind. Every bed, chair and couch was comfortable and we loved that we could have our pet with us, as well. She enjoyed barking at the wild turkey.

Beautiful setting

The home is cute and comfy. Very relaxing and lots of interesting decor. Scottie was awesome at communicating, making sure we were enjoying the home! Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet place to land after a day of exploring.

Last minute get away

Contact with the property owners was prompt. We were a little disappointed with the nonstop traffic in front of the house, as it distracted from the solitude of the place. The description of the interior of the house was accurate and quite pleasant. The sunroom was enjoyable, especially during the first two days of the stay as it was quite windy outside. The security to enter the resort was excellent! Future people looking to stay here should be aware the amenities of the resort are unavailable (except golf) in the off season. Thankfully there are several parks and nature conservatories near by to enjoy in the off season.

April and I love the river and getting away from the hustle of life. So we thought we would give others the same opportunity to enjoy our cabin as well. We do not live there. We get to enjoy it when others aren't.

Flint Ridge is a unique place to get away from the hustle of the city. Peaceful getaway in the woods. Everything you need is just 15-30 minutes away, from Walmart to the Cherokee Casino. We have a 200sqf sunroom with a 400sqf deck to take in nature from. The Illinois River is 1.5 miles from our driveway. Perfect for floating. Also Natural Falls State Park is only 6 miles from the cabin as well. It is a great place for hiking. Flint Ridge offers float services as well. Prices, float times and rules are listed below....
CANOE AND KAYAK RENTALS
Charge is $20.00 per person and rafts are $70 (maximum 5 people) including tax.

ALL ADULTS MUST COME TO THE OFFICE AND SIGN A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND GET A PASS. Property Owners must sign a pass for their guests. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling the POA office at 918-597-2101.

Float season is from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekend.

Float days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Launch times are 10:00 am, 11:30 pm and 1:00 pm.
Pickup times are 1:30 pm, 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm.
A $50.00 late charge will be assessed on any boat missing the last pickup time at 4:30.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Flint Ridge is a gated private community with several miles of Illinois River access and lost of amenities. Flint Ridge offers a 9 hole golf course, 3 community pools, a restaurant at the golf course, ATVs are allowed from dusk to dawn to drive on the paved roads as long as you obey posted speed limits and rules.
