## Emplacement
Nestled at the confluence of the Loire and Erdre rivers, Nantes is a surprising city of the Loire-Atlantique department, oscillating between past and modernity with elegance .It is in the heart of the old city that stands the 15th century castle of the Dukes of Brittany, which earned Nantes the nickname "City of Dukes". It is an ancient fortress as evidenced by the moat and the towers with Breton machicolations. The tower of the Golden Crown, the well with its wrought iron armatures where the ducal crown appears and the large dwelling wanted by François II, embellished with Gothic dormer windows, are among the sights not to be missed in the castle. In addition, the castle houses the Nantes history museum which offers an unusual way to discover the city. You will follow a course divided into seven sequences, from François I to the present day, but also the industrial Nantes and its current revival. Nantes has many green spaces like the Japanese garden and its waterfalls, located on the island of Versailles. With a rich collection of cacti and flora from Brittany, but also from North America, Asia and Africa, the Jardin des Plantes, with its water features, is another pleasant place of relaxation and tranquility.
