We are sorry Miriam was not satisfied with her stay, however, a one star review is very dishonest and disingenuous. A one star would reflect a stay where the photos did not represent the place or if it was excessively dirty or not oceanfront as listed. Our response to the maintenance comment: We pride ourselves in addressing maintenance issues right away. The week Miriam stayed there was excessive heat and humidity (even more than NC is used to seeing). Due to this, there was condensation on the air handler which dripped to the ceiling. We addressed the issue as best as the HVAC service technician could but unfortunately, we couldn't control the weather. Miriam complained about the technician being there but he was only there when they were out of the house so it did not impose on their vacation. Unfortunately, having a profession technician onsite to address the problem was unavoidable. As far as the cleanliness goes we use the same cleaner (same person that typically gets positive cleanliness comments) so we don't understand why that comment was made and we were not alerted to a specific issue or provided pictures of dirty areas. The carpet is as shown in the photos and yes it has some age on it. Wear and tear happens at a much faster rate at the beach and with short term rentals. We have invested thousands of dollars in upgrades over the past 3 years including new carpet is 2 of the bedrooms, a few new hurricane proof windows, deck repair, new paint, new grills (new one each year), new fixtures in some bathrooms, and many more. We wish Miriam with better short term stays in the future and suggest she visit NC beaches in spring or fall to reduce the risk of condensation.
