Modern Tranquil River Home w/Hot Tub

Welcome to our Casita, a 5-star modern, sparkling, pristine and clean one bedroom one bathroom abode located right on the Cucharas River in La Veta, an intimate, small town in Southern Colorado.

This modern tranquil river home delivers serene comfort and features original, colorful art, a collection of succulents and plants, floor to ceiling glass windows, cozy warm radiant heat cement flooring, 10 foot high ceilings and spacious river views with untouched landscapes rich with wildlife.

As you enter the Casita from its spacious deck you are immediately presented with a full gourmet kitchen and spacious living room and you can’t help but notice the floor to ceiling windows that showcase an expansive view of the Cucharas River, complete with its boundless terrain filled with cottonwood trees and birds.

The ample size bedroom features a king size bed and deluxe mattress fitted with 100% cotton Pima sheets and down blankets and the bathroom is adorned with quartz tile, two shower heads for sharing, two sinks, two LED lighted mirrors and soft, plush towels.

The large and roomy Casita deck overlooks the Cucharas River and is equipped with a BBQ for grilling up dining delights, or perhaps you might enjoy some easy yoga, or you might even venture out for a walk in our new Park right on the bank of the river or, maybe you’ll just opt to relax and sit back on the comfy lounge chairs while you take in the gorgeous Colorado sunsets and listen to the sounds of the diverse wildlife.

A 68” OLED Smart TV, an onsite washer/dryer, high-speed Internet/WiFi and private deck and entrance are all additional features of this very exclusive sanctuary. A visit to lovely downtown La Veta is just a minute away but you might realize you’ll never want to leave this tranquil river haven!

We are honored to be your hosts and are very responsive to all our guests needs and desires. In addition to our online 24/7 support, we have an on-location Property Manager who is also available for immediate assistance.

Nice relaxing stay, beautiful home and surroundings. They supplied blankets and towels for our dog. Ate at Stofinos Italian restaurant in the La Veta in and a Aison restaurant called Lou’s. Both restaurants had wonderful food. Hosts were available for any questions and help. Enjoyed are stay.

Perfect Little Getaway on the River

We loved this place so much. It was so comfortable. Loved the big windows overlooking the river. Very clean and comfortable. Great communication with owner. LaVeta was a cute little town, not much to do, but the Spanish Peaks were incredible. Just the Cozy Beautiful Peacefulness of it all was amazing. Thank you so much!
I wanted this little cozy pillow so bad!

Great again!

This is the second time we have stayed here and once again, it was great. This property very well appointed and well maintained. It is a short walk to Main St. La Veta, which is very nice. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon, with the sun and the Cuchara River is very relaxing. It is a great choice!

Excellent stay in La Veta

We have visited La Veta many times over the years. Tanya's Casita was the nicest, cleanest and most comfortable we have ever found! The host were very informative, polite and easy to deal with. If you are looking for a place to stay we highly recommend this home!

Winter Visit

Beautifully designed and artfully decorated accommodations in a small town at the end of a lightly traveled street. The sound of water flowing in the nearby stream and pastoral views provide a relaxing setting.

Quiet and beatiful

Wonderful place on the river that is very quiet. We need to return in the summer so we can enjoy the deck, that is only thing that would have made it better!

Impeccably clean, modern conveniences, art work , live plants, great stream, fun kind hosts.......gorgeous mountains nearby . It seemed like we were the only guests who ever stayed there. Towels and bedding and TP and supplies first rate.

Awesome location!

La Veta is a great little town and this property was perfect for our stay. The Cuchara River, a creek while we were there, runs right behind the cottage. The deck looks was great for listening to the water. The property was immaculate and a hot tub was being added. Will definitely stay there again if/when we make it back!

Peaceful and Beautiful

This casita was developed recently with many high end features. The king size bed was very comfortable. The double shower heads in the shower was a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped and is certainly more than adequate to cook meals there. The deck was the best feature overlooking the river (which was more like a creek during dry season) and the woods beyond. The owners are very nice people who live across the road and were readily available to answer any questions or concerns.

Clean, modern, creekside tranquility.

My wife and I enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay in this spotless, contemporary casita. We spent much of our time on the deck with our dog taking in the creek, forest, and wildlife. Mark and Tanya were friendly and accommodating hosts. We can't wait to return!

Great for couples

This great little casita was perfect for an extended weekend stay. The house was clean, and stocked with everything we needed. The owners added some extra touches that were above and beyond. Some highlights were the tranquil and private deck, the floor to ceiling windows, the double shower heads, and the comfy king-sized bed. Highly recommend!

Relax and Refresh

The property is lovely, sitting on a small creek by a nature preserve. Truly a restful setting. The decor highlights interesting original artworks which reflect especially well against the brand new modern interior.
