Escape to the forest at Singer Cabin #2, a rustic 1-bedroom, 1-bath retreat tucked between Ouray and Ridgway. One of three cabins on a multi-acre property, this cozy getaway offers seclusion, mountain views, and the perfect base for exploring the San Juan Mountains. Enjoy a simple mountain lifestyle with a wood-burning stove, floor heating, and large windows that bring warmth and sunshine into the living space.

• Evaporative cooler available in summer; keep shades drawn during the day to stay comfortable
• Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening windows at night when temps drop into the 40s.
• Parking for 2 vehicles available
• 4WD/AWD required for winter stays (September–May)
• Pets are not permitted at this property
• County STR Permit #2025-068

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

We enjoyed the privacy, the wildlife, proximity to mountains and to Ridgeway amd Ouray. The cabin was clean, firewood was ready for the wood stove, and the bed and outdoor view from it were amazing.

The location of this cabin couldn't have been more perfect, halfway between Ridgway and Ouray. Beautiful views all around. Three days we watched mule deer graze within 50 feet of us. Very quiet and very peaceful, exactly what we needed. I did have to buy hangers for our clothes (we stayed 7 days) but that's the ONLY "complaint". There are so many options of what to do, we were never bored, even though it rained half the stay. We hope to return. Thank you!

Ouray is a magical place, and our stay in here was a great location. Directions to the place were somewhat misleading, but we made a call the young lady stayed on the phone until we found the cabin. The place is clean, and the views from the bedroom and the living room are fantastic. We had turkeys great us every day, and on our last morning, we had four mule deer bucks walk within 10 feet of the property. We would stay again!

Excellent location. Very clean. When we originally booked this, having looked at the pictures online, we thought, it's an older building and probably in need of updating, but the price and location are right. We were quite surprised when we got there. What an incredible find! The owners have really taken care of this place and we would absolutely stay here again!

The cabin is close to highway 550 but behind a hill. You can't hear the road noise. The upstairs is a loft but feels like a second floor. The bathroom is downstairs which could be an inconvenience for some. We left something at the cabin accidentally. The manager was quick to mail it to us. FOR WHICH WE ARE VERY THANKFUL. We reimbursed the postage cost. We will be back.

We loved this little cabin! It had everything we needed for our stay! We loved how secluded it was. This cabin is very comfortable. The view of the mountains from the property is stunning! It is located very conveniently to Ridgeway and Ouray! We would absolutely stay here again

The cabin was very clean, great views; but, the kitchen was quite small and no pantry storage. We made a list of some things that could be done to help in the kitchen a bathroom areas. 1. Update VRBO site as it showed blanket/s in the closet upstairs and there were none; 2. Need hangers in the closet upstairs as there were none & we were there for 2 weeks, 3. Add shelves under the end of cabinet in the kitchen that would help for pantry storage; 4. Add portable drawers or shelves under the existing dressing table in the empty space; 5. Need an elongated commode as the one there is very low and small; 6. Brighter light in the kitchen: example: round stick on lights under the cabinet; 7. Printed sheet with instructions to use the TV dish as we had problems with it; 8. Need door stop at entry door; 9. Replace shower door water seal; 10. No laundry mat in Ouray except for at the RV, and the town was packed and no laundry in Ridgeway so we had to drive to Montrose to wash clothes as we were there for 2 weeks.

WAY too HOT! We expected a place in the mountains. You know, cool, up high, in the woods, etc. Instead, the place was down the street from town. It was an absolute hotbox. It was so hot we could not sleep. (There is no AC in this cabin.) All we could do was lay there and sweat. In addition, the bed was upstairs and the bathroom downstairs...and the stairs were steep and tight...making it VERY difficult for us seniors. We cut our trip short - and lost money -- because we could not stay there another night!

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were VERY disappointed with this place. It was extremely hot. It was uncomfortable in the evening for dinner downstairs. It was stifling upstairs making sleep nearly impossible until well after midnight. All we could do was lay there and sweat. We had expected a cabin in the mountains, so we THOUGHT it would be cool. Not so. Instead, the cabin was down the road from town and subject to the same high temperatures. This place was so bad we cut our trip short. Also, another issue, if you have ANY sort of disability, as one of us does, please know that that the only bathroom is downstairs - and the bed is upstairs, and those stairs are pretty small and steep. This made it VERY difficult at night for us seniors. Tom

So quiet and very comfortable

If you sit by the window you can watch all the wild life go by , we saw turkeys, deer, peacocks and lots of chipmunks! No A/C but we had a great cooler and lots of fans. Such a mice break from the crowds!

Hands down the best rental I’ve ever had while traveling. Plenty of accommodation with heaters, wood stove, windows that have us the perfect breeze, a great size fridge and even an oven! Had a few questions for the owners and got a response within the hour. I will absolutely be booking again, everything was perfect from the remote location to how spotless and cozy the place was.

Nice isolated cabin

It was just as advertised. Any minor inconvenience was clearly stated in the description. The price was right, the view was wonderful and the location to OURAY was perfect. Only complaint was very low water pressure, but it was definitely manageable. Highly recommend!

Peaceful stay!

Loved the remote feel even though it was not far from the road. The view from the bedroom was spectacular. The cabin had everything we needed and was very peaceful.

Location, Location and Location

Location, location and location is the commonly know key to real estate and this property is no different. It is located halfway between Ouray and Ridgway, Colorado behind a hill in such a way that it can not be seen from the highway. You can not hear any of the noise from the highway. The cabin is fine for two people and the only small nit I have to pick with it that the bedroom is upstairs while the bathroom/shower is downstairs. It was nice to discover that there was a new flatscreen TV downstairs and also a handrail next to the stairs going to the bedroom. Also had wild turkeys roaming through the yard a couple of times a day. We look forward to staying here again.

Turkey Time in Ridgway

Four Merriam’s tom turkeys came to visit every evening. A nice 5x5 Miley stopped by. No bears. Lots of cloud cover all week in Ouray, but was warm and sunny in Montrose. Every time we started to head to a hot spring we heard thunder. We found other fun things to do including the Black Canyon NP.

Worst vacation rental

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was concerned About the cabin not having Air conditioning, The even have it in writing that it doesn't need AC, Are most miserable vacation rental ever, We had three fans running and they brought over Fan cooler that I had to fill in the shower with water and then tota to the second floor, How unprofessional and unsafe, Do not. Stay in this cabin during July and August. When we Would returned it must have been above eighty Degrees in the Upstairs bedroom, Shame on VRC Renting this cabin without Air conditioning,

The only thing that I absolutely did not like is there wasn’t any air conditioner. It got really hot almost everyday that we were there and it got really hot until late in the evening it would cool down and it felt great but there wasn’t even a window unit. If I had to recommend anything for the owners/rental company, I would definitely invest in some air conditioning!!
