Unique Waterfront Stilt House on the Withlacoochee River, Fish, Kayak, Relax

Feel like your living in a tree house. Located 10 minutes from I75, near The Villages Community and other attractions. Bring your Kayak, Canoe or rent one from a nearby rental location. Make sure you have a fishing pole and license to fish for bass, catfish and bluegill from two docks (one river, one canal) or just enjoy the fire pit or sit on the porch and watch the sunset.

House includes a full kitchen and washer and dryer.
Rental is upper level only, stairs on either side of the house take you up to the upper level.
This house was originally built in the 80s and has been updated.
Full dining room with views to the river and canal, living room includes a recliner, sofa and two chairs with ottomans.
Two ring cameras located on lower level outside only, one aimed at driveway, on at the canal.
Lower level is used for storage only. It is not included in the rental.

February on Lake Panasoffkee

We enjoyed the water views and the nature around the property. It was very convenient to most places of interest in central Florida, either coast. The accommodations were very homey and comfortable. The conveniences were greatly appreciated. Especially the washer and dryer and Keurig coffee maker.

2 months in heaven

Enjoyed our 2 months out of the WI cold. The house was exactly as listed. Owner responded whenever we had questions. Check it out, you will not be disappointed!

Getaway to Real Florida Nature

Being a cooler January, we were still able to enjoy the outdoors with the great fire pit. Some of our best days were spent outside with a fire and fishing off the two docks. It was nice to watch the birds and otter and the great sunset in the evening. However, the airboats on the river can be a little busy and loud but mainly just on Saturdays. The house had everything we needed for our month long stay. The host was excellent and seemed to really appreciate us as guests.

A Nature Lover’s Delight

This comfortable 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom accommodation has many windows and a deck overlooking the Withlacoochee River out back and a canal bordered by a cypress (tree) swamp on one side. It’s a 2-storey house with a storage apartment and a double carport on the bottom level. It sits at the end of a dead end street. The rental part of the house is the upper level. This enhances the view. The river, in particular, is alive with birdlife, frogs, turtles, fish and alligators (not to worry!). We enjoyed listening to the bird calls during our 3-month stay. I am a kayaker and found it convenient to launch from the floating dock on the canal. You have to provide your own kayak or canoe. There are also several public boat ramps in the area, handy for launching any kind of vessel. The only negative is the popularity of airboats in this part of Florida. They are incredibly noisy. However, the good news is that we experienced more quiet time than airboat time with most of the activity on weekends. We have booked another stay at this rental. Of course, when not enjoying the outdoors, WiFi and television can be important. Both are excellent in this rental. The owners, Jenny and Dan, responded quickly to any concerns. As far as shopping goes, there is plenty available as close as 10 to 12 miles. We generally got groceries and gas and had a few restaurant meals in Inverness but The Villages is only a little further away and there you can find all the big box stores, etc. and any medical needs for sure. Inverness is nice to visit for its attractive and historic downtown core as well as lakeside parks. The Withlacoochee Trail goes through Inverness. The location of the house is also great for its proximity to several Wildlife Management Areas/Preserves for those who like walking/hiking/biking. To name some: Half Moon, Jumper Creek, Lake Panasoffkkee, Panasoffkee Outlet, Flying Eagle Preserve and McGregor Smith Scout Reservation.

Beautiful and Peaceful

Sitting on a beautiful canal with a dock and outdoor fire pit. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies, they even had a s’more kit! Open living and dinning room. There is a washer and dryer as well, and enough towels and extra blankets. Loved our stay here and would go back for sure.

Two in a half month stay .

I rented this house and when we first walked in they had a big basket of different chocolates it was such a nice touch . The house was loaded with everything my husband and I needed from bedding , throw blankets , cleaning supplies , dishes , pots and pans . It was just perfect for our two month stay . We had a few questions for homeowner and they responded immediately and helped us out . If you want to experience nature this is the place for you . Lots of different birds , turtles the beautiful sunset at night . We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend.

Great Property

Great house, very responsive owners. House was clean and in great shape. The owners stocked the house with games and a s’mores kit because they knew we had children. Would rent here again.

This house gives the feeling of being in a tree house, you'll be eye level with hawks and eagles. Water views from two sides of the house including the fire pit with seating for 4. Two docks, one on the river one on the canal, perfect for launching a kayak or fishing.
