Great Beach House

We’ve stayed at this house multiple times, and we are are always excited to return. Great set-up, comfortable, and short walk from the beach… great for families. We’ll be back, highly recommend!

Beautiful home steps away from beach

We had a great time, house was awesome! We come every year to pirates and this house has been by far our favorite. Looking forward to staying here again in the future!!!

Great Location and Great House!

We really enjoyed this home for a week! I was a great property and Patrick was super quick to respond when we had a couple of questions! The property was really close to the beach, as well! Great views from the porch!

GREAT beach house

We have stayed at this house in the past and really enjoy the home and its location. Perfect spot to relax on the deck and enjoy the sun and surf. This house feels more like a home and NOT a rental. We love it there and will be back again.

Beautiful Days at the Beach

Wonderful house, exactly as pictured, great beach access. Wraparound porch is great gathering place. Well equipped kitchen is a pleasure to cook in. We will try to stay there again.

Great getaway

MerSea was the perfect choice for my family of 8. Great floor plan, beautifully decorated, very well maintained and very close to the beach. The owners are wonderful to work with, responsive, considerate, and organized. We hope to stay at the MerSea again in the future.

Great access to a quiet section of Pirate's Beach

We enjoyed the view from our balcony and the easy access to the beach from this home. It felt quiet & kid friendly most of the week, things picked up a bit on the 4th of July, but that was fun too. We loved being closer to the seawall and the Strand too. We have done annual trips to Galveston for the past six years at various parts of the island, and we would book this property again for sure. Icemaker was the BOMB!

Great views, comfortable home

We have had our eye on MerSea for several years and finally made the two week reservation. The home is fully equipped, extremely comfortable with fantastic views from the wrap around deck and from all the rooms. We actually made thanksgiving dinner for our family in August with peach cobbler for dessert. Loved the house, loved the location.

Five star all the way!

We could not be happier with our stay at MerSea! We loved being able to wake up to perfect views and walk to the beach in seconds. Instead of the usual trek, hauling beach toys and chairs, etc, we could just pop back to the house in no time if we needed anything. The location is close enough to all the attractions but removed enough to feel like we had our own private beach. The house is beautiful, clean and has everything we needed for a perfect vacation with family and friends. We cannot recommend highly enough!

The house is lovely. We’ve rented many many houses over the years; by far, this one has the most beautiful view. The weather wasn’t very cooperative , but we played games and enjoyed the comfort and coziness of the house. We had a great week ; we cooked a lot and appreciated. the well stocked kitchen. We would love to come back when the sun is shining😊!

Perfect location

House location was excellent. We had a family gathering with 8 adults and 1 child. Our group had a couple of suggestions. The house had 4 bedrooms, but 2 of them need to be upgraded were it is more comfortable for adults. The beds need to be updated in these 2 up stair rooms. The master bedroom is beautiful and has a beautiful view. The ice machine was a life saver. We loved our stay. Thank you. Mike

This is a lovely, spacious home, steps from the beach, with impressive decks and views of the gulf.When my two children were younger, we would typically rent condos for our Galveston vacations (The Dawn, Ocean Grove etc.) Now the kids are adults in college, each with significant others. It's a different type of family vacation. With a large home like this, you can be together on the elevated first floor or the enormous deck, but you also have the flexibility to split up, be alone, read a book, take a nap or whatever. You're never "on top of each other", and it would have been just as comfortable with eight people, rather than just six.The photos showing the view don't really do it justice. It's wonderful. The water view is very important to my wife, she's a morning person who gets up before the rest of us. She spends an hour or two facing the gulf, with a coffee and a book. Although there are some great-looking rentals without legitimate water views, we're just never going to rent one of those.I found the Pirates Beach neighborhood to be quiet, even in mid-July, a little more lively over the weekend but at all not crowded or noisy. In terms of contact with the hosts, the check-in instructions were clear, we had everything we needed, no problems came up. I was confident they would respond quickly if some issue arose. But, what renters really prefer to NOT have to reach out for anything, and that's the experience we had.We would definitely stay there again.

Annual getaway

Great location! Our stay had a bit of a bumpy start as the cleaning crew had not shown up. But the host was amazing, even driving down himself and arranged for the cleaning to crew to come out in the evening. And then stayed with the crew to clean. I was blown away. The rest of the stay was great. The house is beautiful and really just steps away from the stand. That section of the beach was not busy at all so we had it to ourselves. The kitchen had everything we needed as we cooked for a party 8 the whole time. The common spaces in the home were designed well that we spent more time together than we had in years, we were just all very comfortable. You could tell the neighborhood had been hit hard by Hurricane Beryl, but this one seemed to be unscathed. Thank you Patrick!

Best Time Ever!

We were a bit nervous renting a home with no reviews, but we were NOT disappointed! We visited Galveston for the first time last year and loved it, so this we we brought more family with us and this beautiful home was well appointed and was in the perfect location!! Pirates Beach was amazing and still close to everything you need. The home is three homes off the beach but set back further than the other two for amazing views and easy to see what is going on with others down on the beach. There were beach toys and chairs, as well as some beach towels for our use. Each bathroom had travel size shampoo and conditioner as well as a bar of dove soap, which was appreciated. The ice machine was a big plus for the cooler and drinks, and there are chargers for your phones in every room. We cooked many meals there and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy, sheets and pillows were great. Home was immaculate and lots of attention to detail when it comes to their cleaners. I was worried about mosquitos since there was so much grass but we did not encounter any until the last day as we were packing up the car. Patrick and Domitille were very fast with responses to any questions we had and the lift basket upon arrival was very thoughtful! Their check in process is very easy, and are amazing hosts. We highly recommend this home and look forward to returning in the future. If you are on the fence about this property don’t be, you will not be disappointed!

Lovely

We really enjoyed this house and location. The beach is so close, and the house itself is lovely. We appreciated the generosity of the hosts in terms of providing beach towels, beach toys, and even house toys and puzzles for their guests to use while staying (our kids were thrilled to get to play with some different Crocodile Creek puzzles). We were also so grateful that the hosts were quick to respond when we had slight issues with the temperature control. The kitchen is well equipped, the neighborhood quiet, the beach beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful time!
