Remodeled Oceanfront Duplex in Quiet Ocean Oaks near the Point

Come stay at our newly remodeled oceanfront home in the popular Ocean Oaks neighborhood at Emerald Isle. We offer a wrap-around ocean view from the kitchen and living area, along with ocean-facing windows in each of our 3 bedrooms.

Our goal is to make your family feel welcome in the cleanest rental you've ever experienced. After Hurricane Florence damage, we gutted the house so that everything is new, from the walls and flooring to the kitchen appliances and tile bathrooms. Each bedroom features Casper mattresses, spa sheets, and a smart TV. Our kitchen comes well-stocked, and we include your basic oils, spices, condiments, detergents, and paper goods with your rental.

Outside, sun yourself on the upper deck, or grab a spot in the shade on our lower deck. We have an enclosed outdoor shower with a changing area for those who like to feel the breeze. Beach chairs and a bucket of toys are provided.

Spectacular location and views. Off the beaten path a little but still close enough to everything. Very well appointed. Didn't have to run out and buy everything you need for your stay. Only criticism (and it's a picky one), was the shower water pressure or head type made for a weak shower.

Summerwinds fulfilled all our Christmas wishes. From the decor to all amenities to the dolphins putting on a show every morning and evening that could be seen from every window. The deer that roam the dunes at night left hoof prints on the walking deck. Our granddaughter will have a memory of Santas reindeer for life. See you in August Summerwinds!!! Super clean and peaceful location

This house is the best! It is stocked with all you need. Spotless rental. Loved the open floorplan with all the windows. We enjoyed sitting on the porch or relaxing in the hammock under the deck. There are so many chairs/beach items to choose from. Nice neighborhood and great location on the island. We enjoyed a relaxing trip and would definitely rent the house again.

Beach oasis!

Couldn’t have loved our stay more. We came with our three kids (4,2 and 4 months). The view was absolutely amazing and it was so easy to just walk out to the beach with the kids and have them play. The house was absolutely beautiful and the kitchen was well stocked for many dinners at home. This house is also centrally located to many parks, attractions and stores in the area. Erin, the host, was incredibly responsive and detailed with her welcome email. Couldn’t recommend this house more. We will definitely return!

Perfect Getaway

We stayed at this beautiful duplex for 3 nights and it was everything we could have wanted and more. The location was amazing and just steps from the beach. When we walked inside it was very clean and we absolutely loved the layout as well. There were plenty of windows all over the first floor letting in all the natural light. The way the bedrooms were set up were perfect for our family. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We spent a lot of time outside on the beach or up on the deck watching the dolphins swimming right in front of us. This little getaway was exactly what are family needed and we are already looking into when we can come back!

Our stay at Summerwinds-August 2023

We Loved our stay at Summerwinds. It had everything we needed for the most perfect beach holiday. The location on Emerald Isle was ideal, convenient and beautiful .. right on the beach!!!! We loved just walking down the stairs to the the gorgeous beach and Amazing swimming. There were lots of beach chairs and toys. The waves were so much fun and our daughters all had a great time learning to surf. All of our views were ocean views and the house was so comfortable, modern and well equipped. We cooked almost everyday and the kitchen had everything we needed. We ate our meals on the beautiful deck with spectacular views. The bedrooms were perfect and sooo comfortable. Shopping and restaurants all so close by and the town has everything you need. Our host Erin was friendly abs quick to respond to any of our questions. We can’t wait to come back 😊

Love This Property …

This property was everything stated in the description and more! The location was perfect and close to local restaurants. Besides having almost all supplies available, the kitchen was well-equipped and met all our needs. We particularly loved the wrap around ocean view from the main floor. All bedrooms have a view of the ocean too. The porch deck is where we spent a lot of time soaking up the sea breezes and sun. This has now become my best experience renting a property listed on VRBO. Thank you Erin for being so prompt in responding to any questions!

House was beautiful and the location was perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a better house to rent! Myself, husband, kids (age 2 and 5), brother in law and sister in law stayed! All loved the house!! Very clean and all updated! Owner and family were very friendly!

Gray beach front property for your family vacation!

Emerald Isle is beautiful! We loved the house and enjoyed our stay. The upper and lower deck were great! The beach supplies were so helpful and the kitchen has all of the cooking utensils you really need! The house was clean and has a great layout. We had such a great trip!

What a beautiful home and gracious hosts. The house was the perfect location, right on the beach, and spotless [cleanliness is probably the most important factor for me]. The kitchen was stocked beyond any rental I have ever stayed in. Erin [the host] communicated all the way through and was s accommodating and so kind to answer questions quickly when I had them. A surprise bonus was the outside shower, that feature wasn't in the description and we took full advantage of it! Don't pass this place up.

Lovely get away

We had a wonderful week just hanging out on the beach. It was never crowded and so peaceful. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We cooked our meals most of the week but there are plenty of options to eat out as well.

My husband, Dan, and I purchased the storm-damaged East side of Summerwinds in 2019 after Hurricane Florence. The destruction allowed us to gut and completely renovate our side. As a result, we have a beautiful "new" beach home ready to welcome vacationers.

We also recently purchased the West side of the house from my parents, who had owned it since 1993. Summerwinds West is also available for rental on VRBO.

Our house is conveniently located with easy access to the bridge, the Point, and town. When you arrive on the island, our immediate right turn onto Coast Guard Drive allows you to reach the house within a couple of minutes without having to navigate the seasonal congestion of driving through town. We are also situated halfway between Bogue Banks Pier and the western point of the island -- the perfect distance for a walk to the east or the west during your favorite time of day.
