Stay at "American Dreaming" and check off all of your vacation boxes! Sit by the firepit in our fenced backyard and listen to the sounds of the crashing waves, which are 1 block down the street. Head down to the beach during the day and cool off in our private stock tank pool while your kids play ping pong in the game room. Enjoy a short 10 minute drive down to Southport to catch a ferry or sit on the water and have a fantastic dinner!

The house was in a great location and easy access. The game room was a huge hit as well as a spacious dining table. The small pool was in need of attention and not usable. Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed the house.

Hi Leann! So glad you enjoyed the house overall and location. We have in our listing that our stock tank pool opens in late April and closes after Labor Day. It’s not heated, so we don’t maintain it during the Winter. Thanks again for booking with us!

This property was great. Short walk to the beach. Plenty of space for a family of 11. The toys and play room were great for the children. Plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach carts. We had brought some of our own but didn't need them at all. The pool seemed nice but we didn't use it. We would definitely stay here again.

Awesome House!

The house was in a great location and accommodated our group very well. The ping-pong table was a big hit with our kids and teens (and the adults). Brooke and Red are fantastic hosts! We will definitely keep an eye out for this listing next year!

This beach home had everything we could possibly need. It was easy to make meals with the cooking stuff provided; We got to borrow the house's beach chairs, and; loved each room, decoration, and comfortable bed. It is reasonably priced and would love love love to stay here a full week! Thank you so much for letting us book for just the weekend.

Best beach house in town.

Upon entering the area, you are left mind blown by the beautiful home which stands out from the other homes on the block. The beach is a short 5-minute walk, visible from the front of the property. Entering the home you enter into an open concept living, dining, and kitchen area with a clear view of the backyard with an outstanding deck and dedicated firepit area. The house is fully equipped and nicely spaced where everyone had their own space. The children loveeeeee the playroom and it was a plus since we only saw them when it was food time. Perfect family vacation home. The outdoor shower was the best as everyone kept the sand out the house. We are looking forward to returning every year.

Great Location and Host Communication, Needs Updating

The location is great. It’s a residential area of the island, so the beach is less crowded. You can quickly walk to the beach, pier, coffee shops, and shops. The area is quiet and nice. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. The house needs to be updated. The floors in particular were worn and separating or deteriorating. The upstairs master bedroom is in an addition/converted attic, and it is significantly hotter than the rest of the house. It’s manageable but should be considered if you’re planning to utilize it as a primary bedroom.We checked in on a Wednesday, and the trash was supposed to have been taken out on Tuesday. It was overflowing before we even put trash into it. Overall, we had a good time, but it wasn’t what we expected based on the listing.

Our family enjoyed our weekend on Oak Island. American Dream fit our needs to a T! We were in town for a wedding, venue was 6 minutes away. Grocery stores and near by shops met all our needs. We took time to enjoy the fire pit for smores and the large deck during the evening as we had great weather. The large kitchen and open living area with dinging table was a huge selling point when booking. I kept the game room a secret, which the young and old all enjoyed. Would most certainly book this house again. Highly recommend!

Great family vacation

Spacious property with lots of room for grandchildren to play.. The owners stocked the play room with toys and books. Comfortable beds. Nice gas grill on the deck for cook outs. The stock tank was surprisingly functional to for cooling off after a trip to the beach (adults and children).

Everything we were looking for!

Cute, functional, and ideal! Our weekend away was made so much better by this house. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and the common areas were great for relaxing together as a group. Looking forward to rebooking again for next year!

Adorable!!

This home was just perfect for our family Thanksgiving. We had 10 adults and 2 teenagers and everyone was very comfortable. Everything was clean clean clean! The hosts left a nice welcome basket and little touches here and there made you feel right at home.

Spacious, Inviting, Convenient

This house has lots of room to spread out and enjoy yourselves! We loved having the separate playroom area for the kids as well as the open kitchen/living area to all be together. The backyard with firepit and deck is great for entertaining. Close enough to the beach that the kids didn't even complain about the walk! :) The hosts were very courteous and communicative. We would definitely book again!
