Welcome to Deanies Cottage. Newley Renovated Guesthouse is decorated Modern Decor. You get all the “Comforts of Home” with this circa 1920 frame home. There is a living room that features a home entertainment system. The bath has a tub and shower. There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and the other bedroom has a queen-size bed. There is a second TV in the second bedroom. A full kitchen is available for your cooking needs. Enjoy a tranquil retreat at Deanie’s Cottage Guesthouse. Children 12 and older only.

Don't stay at Deanie's Cottage!!!! It's awful!

This house is awful and should not be listed by the listing agent. The house is a mess. The doors barely lock and many of the windows just had a nail holding them shut. The house didnt appear to be cleaned in years and there stains all over the carpet. The AC unit was extremely loud. We contacted the listing agent Fredericksburg Escapes they found us another house but it was miles away. We left and asked for a refund but they could not provide one. The house was awful. The listing agent Fredericksburg escapes doesn't seem to inspect the houses rather they just list so beware. We will not be using Fredericksburg Escapes ever again for any rentals. It's false advertising.

Great location, easy access to main street activities and Rockbox Theater. Quiet neighborhood right across from the middle school with minimal evening traffic.

short but sweet

was in town for a wedding, wasn't in the cottage much, but would stay again if we return. Cozy, compact older home kept up well. The renting agency (Fredericksburg Escapes, I believe?), we're very thorough.

Beds were comfy, furnishings were tasteful and appropriate and we loved it. Only issue was the bathroom is small and when on toilet, if your a big girl your legs are under the sink and it's a little difficult to get up. But I'm a good size and I managed it fine. Water pressure was GREAT! Would stay here again for sure.

Property was old but clean, with everything necessary for a nice stay. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the heating system that required a move. Owner had us move to another property to finish our stay. Owner very helpful.

Great spot!

Property was great, location, cleanliness, style. This was really a awesome place to stay. Everything we needed was there. House is very well kept for the age. Location is ideal whether you want to walk or drive to main.

Will be back!

We stayed here during our elopement to Fredericksburg and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only thing that would have made it better is if it wasn't in the 100's several days we were there which kept us from enjoying the front porch or backyard like we wanted. Kitchen had everything we needed. We would have walked more to Main Street if it wasn't so hot. We will definitely stay here again.

Nice, but….

The place was very clean and we had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and so were the couches in the living room. But the bathroom was very small. So small your knees hit the sink while on the toilet. The porcelain in the sink was stained and peeling in places. We probably wouldn’t book this rental again just because of the bathroom.

Great Place to Stay

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The location is perfect. It was a very cold, wet weekend but we were cozy and warm in the house. Would definitely stay here again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: given the price we paid ($400/night), I would have expected better. Issues with the property:1. no internet - had I known ahead of time, I would not have booked this place.2. decorations in the house - it is clear this is sometimes used by a granny - not that appealing3. foundation problems - cracks in the walls indicate there are foundation problems to be fixed4. signs everywhere - instructions signs are many in the house on the walls telling me what to do and how to do it. I'm on vacation, I don't need to have that in my face everywhere in this small house. it's fine to have it in a binder, but in the kitchen, the bathroom, several on the walls in the living room, etc. too much. Overall, this property could be improved cheaply with the following: 1. provide internet, 2. remove all the decorations - seriously -old hankercheifs hanging from a wire in the kitchen window - kind of gross. 3. remove all the instruction signs, 4. plaster over and paint the foundation cracks in the walls. Also, remove all food left from previous guests - even if it's still usable - who knows what previous guests may have done to it - it's unsafe.We won't be staying here again or recommending this property.

Quaint cottage

The property was conveniently located near the Main St. area. Great access to all areas and venues around fredericksburg. Check in was fast and easy. Check out was even easier. Would recommend this property to a couple, maybe two couples. Only 1 bath.
