Beautiful craftsman home on tree-lined quiet street steps to Rock Creek Park Golf Course. Six bedrooms, three and 1/2 bathrooms; features large formal living room with French doors leading to a large front porch. Great house for family or group gatherings and entertaining. Spacious family room is adjacent to light filled chef's kitchen. Beautiful backyard patio with dining for 12, and perennial gardens. Front porch has classic wrought iron furniture; table and chairs for 12 for meals. The 2nd floor has four bedrooms; 3rd floor has two bedrooms. The newly renovated basement has a full bathroom with shower and sitting room. The house is 4.7 miles from The White House. Parking in front of the house is available. Rock Creek Park walking trails are steps away. Beautiful homes in the neighborhood. Sleeps 13 adults. Pets allowed.

Host was very welcoming and checked in to make sure things were going well. Allowed us to check out a bit later which was helpful. Clean and well equipped. Overall a wonderful experience!

Charming and Bright Weekend Getaway

We had a lovely weekend at this charming, character-filled home. It’s like stepping into a well lived family home, with thoughtful updates. Each room is uniquely decorated with art, books, and personal touches that made it feel cozy and inspiring. The house is 4 levels so the stairs might be tricky for those with mobility issues, and for larger groups bathrooms may require some coordination, 3.5 bathrooms. There’s only one TV, but the Wi-Fi was excellent for streaming and connecting other devices.The host provided detailed information prior to our stay and was responsive and helpful throughout our stay.Highly recommend for a peaceful and memorable retreat!

Family wedding in Wheaton, Maryland

We stayed at Hydrangea House for a family wedding just six miles away, and we're so glad we did. The home was clean, bright, well-appointed, and perfectly tucked away—yet still close to everything we needed. Our group ranged in age from 3 to 75, and the house was far more comfortable and accommodating than a hotel would have been. Communication with the owner was excellent, and the entire stay was seamless. We're truly happy we booked it!

Overall the house was nice. Excellent for adults.Nice backyard and patio. Dead end street was great for parking and low traffic.Good location to Downtown.Beautiful hiking in Rock Creek ParkIt was tricky having young children and toddlers due to multiple breakable objects, heavy bookshelves, and multiple staircases.Couldn’t get WiFi to workCould have used more towels

Comfortable Owners Home

Home was furnished nicely. Front porch was favorite spot. Owner easy to contact and responded quick. Kitchen dishwasher and refrigerator may need updating and could be cleaner. Beds very comfortable. Met all our needs. Thank you.

It felt like home.

This beautiful and comfortable home was a perfect place to spend time with our family for a wedding celebration weekend. Joe and Therese were quintessential hosts always prompt with their communications and detailed with instructions. Their home was ours for the week and we thank them wholeheartedly for giving us the opportunity to spend such a memorable week where we could celebrate our family. I would highly recommend Hydrangea House for your next visit.

Perfect choice for a family visit to DC

This was our second family Thanksgiving spent at Hydrangea House. The house has a chef’s kitchen and several beautiful and comfortable sitting spaces. The bedrooms are all very comfortable, too. There is a lovely yard in the back and front porch. Street parking is plentiful. The location close to Rock Creek Park is perfect for walking with a playground in walking distance. It is also on a bus line and can get you downtown very easily. The hosts are fantastic. We will look forward to returning!

Lovely late September weekend

Our group of seven 70 year friends had a wonderful gathering at Hydrangea House. Communication about check-in and during our stay was great. The house is comfortable, spacious, well-equipped for cooking, and located in a quiet neighborhood. It was a great home base for exploring Washington, DC, and we'd love to return in the future!

Beautiful getaway for friends and family

I stayed with several friends and family at this beautiful property and had a wonderful time! The house was absolutely stunning with plenty of room for gathering and having fun. The host was so nice and communicative which made the booking, check in and check out processes so easy and simple. Would highly recommend!

Friends' Reunion

The house was the perfect setting for our reunion. There were lots of spaces in the home that were ideal for gathering and talking. We especially enjoyed the front porch in the later afternoons/early evenings. The house was elegant, comfortable and nicely updated. My had a wonderful time, facilliated in part by a great space/location.

Excellent Property for a Group to Stay

We brought six Mentees and 2 Mentors from the L.A.M.P. Mentor Program for a week of college visits, museum excursions, and networking opportunities. This property - one of the three that we used - was ideal for the trip and our goals. It was clean, near all of our destinations, and comfortable. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful.

Lovely Home for Thanksgiving Gathering

We chose this home to host our extended family for Thanksgiving after my mother-in-law moved out of the home where we usually gathered. It was the perfect choice. It is in a great location close to grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Nearby Rock Creek Park offers lots of outdoor entertainment and walking trails and it is right on the Metro Bus line if you want to head downtown. The house is comfortable and beautifully furnished with a spacious and well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were all very comfortable and there was plenty of sleeping space to accommodate the extended family. Joe and Therese were very helpful and made sure we had what we needed to prepare the Thanksgiving meal and even left us a bottle of wine and some beer for the celebration. Our family couldn't believe how perfect the home was for our gathering and it was great to be under one roof again! We would definitely choose to stay here again. Thank you, Joe and Therese, for opening your beautiful home to us!
