Cozy SMB Themed Apt in the Heart of Historic SPR!

Summary:

We recently refreshed this apt to harken back to your favorite plumber themed NES classic. If you're a Mario, Luigi, or Princess Toadstool (we don't enjoy hosting Bowsers) this is the perfect spot for you! Yoshis are welcome too. :)



You’ll be steps from restaurants, coffee shops, and an axe throwing venue!



This apt is next to a busy intersection so you will experience road noise. This is a wonderful yet developing urban neighborhood.



Also, large vehicles are not recommended for guests at this property. The parking lot is relatively small / crowded and large vehicles parking here make it difficult for other guests to get in and out of the parking lot.

There is nearby street parking available for larger vehicles but it will not be in the gated area.



The Space:

Guests have access to the entire 2 BR / 1 BA apartment with a brand new kitchen, bathroom, tankless hot water heater, and fresh paint, lights, ceiling fans, barn-door style closet doors, and new bedroom and living room furniture, including a new 65" TV and a 43" TV in the master bedroom.



The master bedroom features a brand new king-sized bed complete with memory foam mattress, a night stand, a chest of drawers, a desk for work, and a closet.



The 2nd bedroom features a queen-sized bed, nightstand, chest of drawers, and a closet.



The living room includes a sleeper sofa, an island with bar stools.



The generous kitchen is stocked with utensils, a microwave, coffee pot, toaster, refrigerator/freezer, oven/range, cooking utensils/cutlery and plates.



The freshly renovated bathroom has a sumptuous walk in shower with glass door supplied with towels, and shower items (body wash, shampoo, conditioner).



Guest Access:

Guests have access to in unit laundry and gated parking - limit 1 car per guest in the gated parking area due to its size



The Neighborhood:

Springfield is amazing! It is a diverse, vibrant, up and coming neighborhood located just north of Jacksonville's downtown. You'll initially fall in love with the gorgeous late 19th/early 20th century houses but you'll want to stay for the amazing people. Join a First Friday party, check out the weekly Main Street cruise, downtown's Art Walk, Porchfest if you're in town in the fall, or one of the yearly home tours.



A few recommendations:



Restaurants



Crispy’s is a half block away and famous for delicious pizza and great pub food in general



Wafaa and Mike’s Cafe is 2-3 blocks to the south and known for delicious Mediterranean food



Uptown Kitchen and Bar is ~5 blocks to the south and perfect for delicious breakfast lunch and dinner - one of the most popular traditional



Tommy’s is approximately a half mile to the southeast and is known for Springfield’s famous $3 breakfast in a cup



Sweet Pete’s (as featured on MSNBC's "The Profit") is about 3/4 mile to the southwest for delectable brunch and sinfully delicious sweets; Pete also happens to be a historic Springfield resident so you may very well see him and his family walking their dog around the neighborhood

Drinks



Hyperion - craft brewery 1 block away



Historically Hoppy - craft brewery 2 blocks away



Strings Sports Brewery - craft brewery with delectable dishes 1 block away



Crispy's - fully stocked bar with lots of TVs for sports events, dart boards, and an upstairs area great for larger groups that is half a block away



Uptown Kitchen and Bar - fully stocked bar with TVs that are usually playing sports games that is a few blocks away on Main St



Getting Around:

Springfield is a great neighborhood for walking and biking!



Jacksonville's Skyway, with limited service around the Urban Core area is a half mile to the south and is co-located with Jacksonville's central bus station.



Ride sharing services are also great options as well and driving is preferable for areas well outside of central Jax (St Augustine, Brunswick, Gainesville, etc.)

To help ensure a smooth, secure, and enjoyable stay for all guests, please review the following important information before booking:



Check-In & Identity Verification Policy



All reservations require the primary guest (the booker) to complete a secure online check-in process prior to arrival. This includes:



-Uploading a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID

-Uploading a selfie to confirm identity

-Reviewing and signing our rental agreement



This process is similar to hotel check-in and is required because we do not typically have staff on site. Check-in instructions will only be provided once this process is complete.



If you would like to review the rental agreement before booking, please feel free to contact us.



In some cases, we may also request a security deposit and/or apply a damage waiver fee in accordance with booking channel policies.



Guest Count & Occupancy Policy



Each listing includes a maximum number of guests based on unit type and local regulations. Additional guests are welcome for an added nightly fee:



-2 & 3 bedroom units: $35 per guest, per night after 4 or 6 guests, respectively



Please ensure your guest count is entered accurately at booking. We will confirm the number of guests after reservation. If the guest count changes, pricing may be adjusted accordingly. For safety and compliance purposes, exterior security cameras are used to verify occupancy. Unreported additional guests may result in additional charges.



Pet Policy



This is a pet-friendly property. While our cleaning team is thorough, guests with severe pet allergies should be aware that dogs or cats may have stayed in the space previously.



Pet fees:



-$30 per night, per pet

-$150 per week, per pet

-$300 per month, per pet



Pet fees are not included in the accommodation rate and will be requested after booking once the number of pets is confirmed.



Local Reservation Policy



Reservations under 7 nights from guests residing in the local area may be subject to cancellation at our discretion. We handle exceptions on a case-by-case basis.



Early Check-In & Late Check-Out Policy



Early arrivals and late departures are not guaranteed and must be approved in advance. If approved, the following fees apply:



-Up to 1 hour: $100

-1–2 hours: $200

-2–3 hours: $300

-3+ hours: $100/hr or the cost of an additional night (whichever is greater)



Please do not assume availability without confirmation.



Smoking Policy



Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, including indoor and outdoor areas. If evidence of smoking is found, an additional cleaning fee of $500 will be applied in accordance with the booking channel's cleaning and damage policies.



Special Request Policy



Requests for items such as pack-n-plays, high chairs, or other non-standard amenities should be submitted at least 7 days before check-in to ensure availability. Requests made closer to arrival will be accommodated if possible but cannot be guaranteed.

Lost power, door was left wide open, no resolution

The problems I encountered override any positives of my stay there. I was the only unit to lose power and it took an overnight to have it looked at, so I paid for somewhere else to stay that night. Upon returning after work the next day, I came back to my door left wide open by the services they sent to repair the power problem. I had no idea how long my apartment was left unsecured, in a building that had multiple security features because it’s a higher crime area. As a single female, I had to clear my living space to make sure nobody was hiding or anything was stolen in the unknown amount of time it was left open. After contacting VRBO I was assured I would be contacted by a manager about resolution and it never happened. My stay ended with me paying double to find another location because I didn’t have power, was put at risk by negligence and their team didn’t have the capacity to respond to any of it. Cute apartment doesn’t matter at that point.

Great Place for the Price

We came into town for the FL/GA football game and after another management company cancelled on us one week before our trip, this property saved the day for us! The property was exactly as listed. The property management company couldn’t have been more attentive. They communicated the check-in instructions very clearly and were very prompt in answering any questions I had. The area is definitely undergoing a rejuvenation, but we felt safe and enjoyed the breweries and restaurants within walking distance. One thing I will note, there is definitely a lot of traffic noise, so be prepared for that. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to seeing what Springfield looks like on our next trip down!
