Beautiful Ohio River Frontage views from EVERY room (even the bathroom if the door was open!). Newly remodeled. Rural setting but close to town-5 minutes. Quiet nights. The space
On designated Scenic Highway. This home was once an early trading post with a ferry that would cross the Ohio River. It had gambling and was used back then for hourly or overnight stays. It sets outside city limits and besides the busy highway during the daytime hours, it’s quiet and peaceful. Boats welcome.
Just outside of historic Madison Indiana, a stellar community, on historic registry, and just a beautiful place to go with shopping and restaurants and a state park!

Guest access
Whole house (excluding laundry room), large west side yard, short wooded trail behind home. The highway gets busy, be careful!

Other things to note
The highway is close and busy in the day. Pulling in and out of the driveway should be exercised with extreme caution. Children and elderly, pets, should be watched to stay away from the busy highway.
ANOTHER CAUTION: tall people be aware that the down stairs bathroom has a low clearance doorway, the stairway is low clearance, and a few beams throughout the home are low clearance.

The sleeping arrangements are: there is one completely private room with a twin and full sized bed. The master bedroom- with king bed- one must go through to get to the private room with the 2 beds. There is a hide a bed couch in the great room. The master bedroom is the nicest room but again it is open to the guest bedroom so not super private but roomy and the best view with sliding doors. This master bedroom has no door but is upstairs. See photos

Perfect getaway place for Homecoming weekend in Madison Indiana...quaint, well-appointed, great amenities including a water cooler...close enough to downtown Madison to quickly access all opportunities in town but enough off the beaten path to enjoy the peace and quiet of the wonderful Ohio River view...staying here capped off a fabulous weekend for my wife and I

Get away weekend!

The property is an easy drive to Downtown Madison and Clifty Falls! The views from unaide the housr are awesome to watch the barges and ships on the river. Communication with the owner was fantastic! Just becareful pulling out of the driveway... people speed around the bend.

Nice Location & Remodel

Enjoyed location very close to main stream downtown Madison. Remodel and decor was fabulous, accommodations satisfactory. Close to wooded area and river, so did find small bugs and spiders making there way indoors. Would recommend regularly treatment.

Short Getaway

We loved the lay out of the two sets of tables and chairs and two sitting areas, kitchen area in between. Lots of windows to enjoy the light on the river at sunset and sunrise. A cozy place for hanging out and close to things to do. Appreciated also the history of it.

Lovely place with a view.

Lovely place. Didn’t realize all the bedrooms were upstairs but we made it work with the pull out sofa for one of our older friends. Loved the water view. Very peaceful. WiFi and phone signal was minimal. Plenty of space and seating. Great appliances.

Beautiful stay by the Ohio River

This was a wonderful house with gorgeous views of the Ohio River. We sat for hours in the evening on the front porch watching barges. The view was particularly magnificent because it was fall, so foliage was brilliant. The house had spacious but cozy rooms to hang out, eat and watch TV in. Beds and bedrooms were very comfortable with a great views. The house was close to beautiful Madison, with good restaurants and a riverside park. Sonia was delightful--so helpful and friendly, but very respectful of her guests' privacy. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay here!

Quaint place with fantastic river views

This is a very charming place. Only about 2 miles from downtown Madison. Great views of the river, particularly from the front porch. It is on a fairly busy road but we weren’t there during the day and the traffic is light at night. It was very clean. Sonia, the host, is very easy to work with. Recommend this for a small family or group of friends.

Very nice place , clean ,comfortable . Lot of amenities. Fully furnished. Plenty of towels. It says you can see river from all rooms and it does. Close to downtown Madison. Sonia is a great host. We have a miniature dachshund and he was welcome. We will return in the future.

Girls Trip

This property has a open layout which is awesome. The steps upstairs are a little steep/close and you need to watch your head as you come down them. Sonia was a great help with any question/issue we may have had while there. The view is just lovely. The cars do travel very fast down this road so there is that sound going by but you get used to it. Overall it was a good fit for our trip. Madison is such a lovely and friendly town. We will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality.

Great spot in Madison!

Cute little house sitting right on the river near Madison, Indiana. Property manager was responsive and the home was well-equipped for our hiking and weekend of exploring in Madison. Would definitely stay again!

This property is close to town, yet secluded except for the Highway. It gets busy during travel for work time, but then minimal traffic. It is SO relaxing to sit on the porch and rock or swing and watch the barges go by. We changed even the floor in this home, so even though it is historical, it is also like new for most of it. It's aired, cleanable and clean.
