In town for a wedding weekend. This house is in a great location. It’s a historic home that has had various renovations over the years. Definitely has the Madison charm. The house had what we needed, and was a much more affordable than a hotel for two nights. Would stay again!

House was clean. Plenty of towels. Kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated the extra snacks and water in the fridge. Only complaint was the showers. The upstairs shower would not get hot. The downstairs shower was lacking water pressure.

Gorgeous renovated old home right in the heart of Madison. Easy access to Kentucky over the bridge. The house was perfect and large. The only issue we had was the water pressure being very low. Showers and filling a bath for the kiddo took a very long time. Other than that we enjoyed Madison and the house very much!

For those coming to Madison for its historic charm, you will appreciate this! Lovely high ceilings, original stained glass doors, fireplaces, wood floors and very cozy. Updated kitchen with everything you need, bright and clean. I also loved the outdoor garden area and carport. It was 90 degrees and the first floor was cool and comfortable. As with any two story, there was a noticeable difference in the upstairs temperature but not uncomfortable. Having been built in the 1800's it has settled, and there is a definite pitch to the upstairs bathroom so if you're wanting a new build, this may not be for you but it did not bother us. We had no issues with the upstairs shower temperature or pressure, as others had mentioned. I did message the owner to inquire about entry steps and whether there was a first floor bedroom for my elderly father in law and they were very responsive, explaining the layout in detail. Our check in process went smoothly, we had no issues gsining access and unlocking the doors, we would definitely stay here again. Great location!

Our stay was wonderful! Check-in was quick and easy, and the host was very responsive and helpful throughout our visit. The home was spotless, comfortable, and exactly as described. Everything we needed was provided, which made our trip stress-free. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place!

This was the perfect place for our Mom’s weekend getaway! The three of us each had our own room which was a huge bonus. The home had historic charm, was well equipped with kitchen supplies, plenty of bath towels, water bottles stocked in the fridge, etc. It was also very clean which is a must in my opinion. The host nailed the hospitality!

None of the bedrooms had dressers. One bedroom had a small closet. Downstairs bedroom had no place for clothes storage. It was very difficult to moderate air temperature. One has to run the air higher so as to make upstairs somewhat cooler. It is very difficult to close downstairs vents to attempt to force air upstairs. Only one ceiling fan upstairs. It should be mentioned that to access one bedroom you must go through a bedroom. Upstairs floor is rather slanted. The different main floor levels should be mentioned and highlighted to avoid falling risk. The kitchen is lightly stocked at best. The window in the downstairs bedroom only has a blind on the lower half- it does have a curtain but it is too sheer to block out street light. The numerous plug ins are annoying and cloying. I understand the need due to the musty smell- perhaps work on improving air movement. The note about only allowing two loads of laundry per stay is unrealistic. A larger group staying a week would struggle. The step up into the house should have a sign. The quality of the updating is poor. (And I have owned 2 historic homes and updated both) Overall this rental was not worth the cost and we would not stay again or recommend this rental.

You are entitled to your opinion. However, not sure how much I trust your judgment because there was four adults and one child and you only paid for two adult adults. The reason that you would need more than two loads of laundry is because of this honesty. If you would’ve been honest and paid what you should have paid then you would’ve had more laundry supplies for five people. Your reservation was for two people. The heating and air has been fully replaced and is 10 months old. It is an old house built in 1864, but it is very clean and is a great getaway experience.

It is indeed a charming house. The location is excellent, and while the home is old, it has a wonderful atmosphere and plenty of character.Communication with the owners, however, was disappointing. In the days leading up to our stay, I sent several inquiries, but none of my emails, messages, or phone calls received a reply. As check-in day approached, we became increasingly stressed because we still had no check-in instructions. Only after involving Vrbo did we finally receive a response on the evening before our arrival. The owner explained that they send the check-in information only on the day of arrival, which is something I had never experienced before.The house itself was very clean, although there was a bit of trash left in the garden outside.One important detail that should be clearly mentioned in the listing is that the two upstairs bedrooms are connected. To access one bedroom, you must walk through the other, which could affect privacy for some guests.Another thing to note is that the upstairs toilet is installed in a very narrow space, making it uncomfortable for taller people to use.Overall, despite these issues, we had a good experience and enjoyed our stay. The charm of the house and its excellent location made it a pleasant place to visit.

Mabel’s place was great for our girls trip. There were plenty of towels. The beds were comfortable and we knew in advance that we had to walk through a bedroom to get to our bathroom and it was no trouble at all. We were able to walk to everything on Main Street. We have a couple of suggestions that would make it even better. The upstairs bathroom lighting isn’t very bright. It would be nice to have a light above the mirror area. It is a little scary when walking to the downstairs bathroom at night due to the raised floor in the kitchen. If you’re sleepy it’s easy to forget you have to step down again before stepping up at the entrance to the bathroom. One of us almost fell there but caught herself before hitting the floor. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this place to others.

We loved our stay at Mabel's Place. The location was great- we walked to everything. The house was immaculate and had all we needed. Having coffee and creamer there when we arrived was appreciated. It was nice to sit on the front porch and relax. Joey always responded quickly and was helpful.
