A diferencia de las vacaciones habituales de alquiler de villas, Butler's es un retiro histórico privado con una gran casa y cabaña en 6 acres de una antigua plantación situada en la cima del pueblo que comparte su nombre. Butler's House and Cottage tiene capacidad para hasta 8 invitados y solo se alquila para una fiesta a la vez, por lo que los huéspedes tienen uso exclusivo de la piscina y los jardines.

Ubicado en las estribaciones de Butlers Mountain, la propiedad ofrece vistas panorámicas al mar con un paisaje embriagador de color y fragancia. This was our third visit to Butler's House. It is one of the most beautiful, peaceful surroundings I have experienced. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. But for me, the perfect feature for the home is that great front porch with its comfortable furniture, constant cool breezes and magnificent view out into the Atlantic. Derek, the manager, was professional, well organized and went out of his way to assist us in our stay. The process of being met in St. Kitts, getting to the ferry, and later returning to St. Kitts was totally without stress on our part. He was very helpful in getting and returning the rental car and being in touch when necessary. I recommend this rental to anyone who wants a simple, pleasant and tranquil stay in Nevis.

Beautiful tropical setting with ocean views providing the backdrop for a very special family holiday

The property is stunning - both the main house and cottage. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with verandas from which to see the sunrise over the Atlantic and to spend lazy evenings enjoying the sounds of the cicadas and tree frogs and the cooling breezes.We made use of all the outdoor seating areas , especially the pool and the landscaped grounds provided a perfect venue for morning yoga! We sailed, snorkeled, sunbathed on the beaches (Cades Bay was our favourite), and hiked in the rainforest - the waterfall hike near the house is not to be missed. The house is well situated to visit all the sites on the island and also the restaurants. We also had a special dinner at the house with an excellent private chef. We would love to return!

Living HIstory

Our 4th year at Butler’s was more heavenly than before. The main house was painted, new pans,new rugs which all made for a more spiffed up Butler’s. The gardens remain magnificent under the care of Franklin and Tony and have grown significantly! The gardenia on the terrace bloomed.There were more star fruit than you could possible eat. I understand in June there are five kinds of mango trees in fruit. We hike to the first waterfall on Mt Nevis or swim for at Herberts, Pinney’s or Chrishi’s. The owner is an absolute sweetie pie and very responsive. The staff are amazing. Having sailed the Caribbean, this is the spot. Read on line about Butler’s historical past.

Amazing vacation spot

This is an amazing property and we had a really great time, start to finish. The grounds/gardens/pool/views are outstanding, the Butler House is a really special place. The host Kay was very responsive and we even got a call from the owner Tim from UK to check on us. I would go back in a heartbeat, it's just that good.

Butler's House Nevis

We last stayed in the house in January 2020. Despite all of the trauma that intervened in the past five years, Butlers House and grounds remained as beautiful and even magical as we remembered. We spent a great deal of time either at the teak table on the side porch or sitting on the couches on the large front porch. The views from all perspectives were perfect. We continued to read together outdoors far into the evening. We have no substantive complaints about anything. There were some communication problems with the on island management. I think perhaps better coordination would help deal with any of the issues we had. Inside the house was clean, attractive and very livable. The house is set on a hill and does catch all of the excellent breezes off of the Atlantic. The temperature indoors was always nice. All of the appliances worked well. The pool was clean and beautiful I do not think there could be a more picturesque place to swim in the Americas. Of course the grounds are beautiful, not dissimilar to many botanical gardens and even more approachable. I have no hesitation in recommending Butlers House in Nevis to anyone who seeks beauty, peace and calm.

Our Favorite Vacation Place

This was our third stay at Butler's House. Such a beautiful, charming, historic property. We brought friends with us this time to enjoy it as well! The house and cottage are very comfortable and well-equipped for cooking. The pool is lovely, set amongst gorgeous gardens with breathtaking views all around. We love the house and staff at Butler's so much, as they are all wonderful people (Kay, Camella, Tony, Franklin, and of course, Tim). We couldn't recommend this place highly enough and will certainly be back again!

Beautiful property & atmospheric experience

We had wanted to visit this property for quite some time and it was certainly worth the wait. The property itself has an old world charm and exudes a sense of history. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The kitchen has everything a cook might need to prepare meals, we were very impressed. With the ceiling fans and vents open there was a good breeze through the house. A great home. Nevis is a lovely island with so many interesting sights. We particularly enjoyed dinner at Golden Rock, Bananas, and Passions. We recommend the hike up to the nearby waterfall. Thanks to Kay, Camella, Tim, and the gardener from Guyana whose name slips my mind. We hope to return.

Just phenomenal

We had a wonderful time at Butler's. The communication before arrival was clear and easy to understand. Kay took great care of us and organized both the journey to the house and the rental car for us. Camella showed us around the house at check-in and gave us tips for shopping on the island. We felt well looked after at all times and will certainly stay there again. Thank you for this extraordinary stay!

Our home in the Carribean

This is our second time staying at Butler's house on Nevis. The first time we were without children; we enjoyed it so much that we decided to return with our 2 littles ones this time. We had additional family join us all the way from Anchorage, Alaska. We spent time playing in the pool every day and loved sitting out for coffee and home cooked meals on the veranda or on the patio next to the kitchen. We enjoyed new restaurants (Drift and L'Escale) that opened on the island since our initial visit, but perhaps a favorite activity is stopping by Esmie's on the way back to Butler's for a cold one after almost full day of activities. We collected mangos from around the property and ripened for home made mango smoothies with some tequila. The house is located on the side of island with a perpetual breeze, so even on the hottest days it still feels cool in the shade. The host and his team are very responsive by email and/or phone. Wifi is speedy in the main part of the house. Netflix available. In summary, the whole family had a wonderful time at Butler's. The people of Nevis are warm and inviting. We will probably return again in the future when the kids are older.

Third Year Rentor

What a magnificent property cared for by a staff of four. Watch the rising sun from the porch. After your lingering, walk into the rain forest to the first of five waterfalls. After your hour and half hike, relax in the swimming pool. The property sits on the windward side of the island so there is always a breeze and cooler than the populated side of the island. Think of a favorite uncles house in the tropics, where there are plenty of books, full internet you to work remotely, comfortably beds, beautiful bathrooms, quirky and charming. The main room has cozy sofas, chairs and a dining room table for those rain forest days. Lu gardens are beautiful and maintained by Franklin and Tony containing cinnamon, almond, 5 kinds of mango, sour orange, coconut and palm as well as bromeliads and others. Camellla comes in twice a week. The washer and dryer in the basement opens up to the south with views of mountains and the sea. Rams is a well stocked grocery also the closer Best Buy. The vegetable stands are abundant. There are many restaurants nearby, Hermitage, Drifts and Heritage being our favorite. For a treat, we go to Golden Rock where the chefs are top notch. Indian Summer and Bananas is worth the effort. Drive to Chishi’s for a day at the beach or Herbert’s for a quick swim. Say hello to our friendly neighbors. On Friday a local custom is chicken, our neighbors make a great version. There is a health clinic at the bottom of the road. The owner is responsive and fair.

Holiday vacation

Our family spent a magical week at Butler’s House in Dec. It is such a unique spot - so lush and beautiful. We spent many hours on the shady veranda and by the pool. The property manager is so helpful and offered us much appreciated guidance for meals and activities and travel logistics. We have already booked a return visit!

Butler’s Paradise

My family and I, along with my sister-in-law’s family, stayed at this amazing property. We were very excited from what we saw on-line, but were overwhelmed with just how beautiful this property was in-person. The kids loved the pool, the guesthouse, and exploring the expansive property. The quaint home had so much charm, plenty of room for our large group, and the beautifully landscaped grounds were breathtaking. It was also well supplied with necessities. Our communication with Tim and Kay was easy and informative. Lovely management team! We would definitely love to stay at Butler’s house again - thanks, Tim, Kay & Camella!

We Couldn't Stay Away

After just two months away, my husband and I returned for another stay at Butler's House. We couldn't stop talking about the breathtaking views and beautiful gardens, so we booked another trip back as soon as the house had availability! Butler's House truly is in a class of its own. The comfortable accommodations, the grounds, the privacy, and, above all, the people (Tim and his team) are unparalleled. Incredible Property - Feels Like Home!

My husband and I had the most enjoyable stay at Butler’s House and cannot recommend it enough! The property and gardens are so beautiful they will take your breath away! The owner (Tim) went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay, the house manager (Kay) made all our travel arrangements to and from the island a breeze and was a true pleasure to communicate with, the housekeeper (Camella) was a joy to talk with and takes meticulous care of the home, the gardeners (Tony and Franklyn) work diligently to keep the grounds as beautiful as any botanical garden you’ve ever seen, and the privacy of the property is second to none. We’ve been to Nevis several times prior and explored much of the island, but the views from the verandah and pool at Butler’s House had us rarely wanting to leave the property on this trip. There is so much history to the property, which makes it very unique from any other villa we’ve stayed in on Nevis before. The owners did a remarkable job preserving the sense of history while ensuring the accommodations have all the modern-day luxuries you would expect. All in all, this was one of our favorite places we’ve stayed in from anywhere in the world, and we cannot wait to return soon!

Paradise Reboot #2

We couldn’t stay away any longer. The Butler House is an extraordinary property that beckoned us back to Nevis with its roadside donkeys, roaming chickens, goat parades and playful monkeys. The grounds are as good as the Botanical Gardens if not better, and the views from the gorgeous pool and surrounding gardens are breathtaking. The house has such a casual elegance about it with a lovely dining room table, china, wine glasses, everything you need to cook. Kay is delightful to work with and coordinates any travel you may need through communications. It was another stellar visit to Nevis and The Butler House. Enjoy the wonderful narration that Tim has provided about the history of the house dating back to the 1700s. It’s a glorious respite for us.

The Best Private Escape !!

Butler's house is incredible! A true paradise! The house, grounds, pool and location were amazing. Talk about bucolic and a true escape from real life! It had everything ! We were a bit nervous about no air conditioning on a tropical island but now we know why :) ! The breezes were the best ! The property had all we needed, a mini resort. Some days we didn't go anywhere, just stayed and relaxed. The porch was the spot in the morning and in the evening after dinner. There were so many options - hang by the pool, read on the porch, walk the grounds etc. that everyone could do their own thing. The home and cottage easily accommodated our extended family group. The amenities were excellent. The property manager, Kay was easy to communicate with and very responsive! Butler's is on our list for a return vacation !!!

Wonderful experience!!!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The owner (Tim) and the local property manager (Kay) were both remarkably helpful and pleasant to work with. The property itself is gorgeous, with lovely grounds, sweeping views, a constant, lovely breeze, etc. We rented a car (with Kay's help), and that allowed for easy navigation to beaches, horseback riding, restaurants, etc. For anyone visiting Nevis, I urge you to stay at Butlers!!

The property is truly magical with spectacular landscaped grounds, a gorgeous pool, quaint cottage, breathtaking views of both ocean and mountains, and abundant outdoor seating on decks and patios. The interior of the house is comfortable and historically fascinating. What really puts a stay at Butlers over the top, however, is the attentive care and friendliness of the staff from Kay, the house manager, to Camella the lovely and meticulous housekeeper, to Tony, the head of the grounds crew. Other delights are the morning and early evening shenanigans of the local troup of Vervet monkeys and the perambulations of the Butlers goat herd. This house is very special. Can't wait to visit again.

Perfect for us

Gorgeous well landscaped grounds with view of both the mountains and the sea. It is hiking distance to the rain forest where you can find the waterfalls. Then, 15-20 minutes later you can be swimming in the gorgeous sea. Being on the windward side Nevis you are assured of a breese and rain forest rains, which we loved. As we live on an island year round, we likened it to be up island, away from the busier sections. Nevis is gorgeous so wherever you go you’ll be delighted.

In 2005, we bought, restored and rennovated an old plantation home (circa 1700's) on the charming island of Nevis. We never really knew what we had until the restoration process began. During that time, my late wife Diane and I realised that--like owners before us-- we are caretakers, ensuring Butler's will be around for many generations to come.

We fell in love with Butlers House immediately we came across it. The privacy, seclusion was wonderful and the challenge to renovate a historical property was too strong to not take the challenge.
