## Emplacement
Arcueil is a commune in the Val-de-Marne in the Île-de-France region, located about 15 km from Créteil. Arcueil is also part of the Metropole du Grand Paris, which has 130 communes, including all those of the Petite Couronne and 7 communes of the Grande Couronne.
Crossed by the Bièvre River, Arcueil also belongs to the Communauté de Communes du Val de Bièvre, along with the communes of Cachan, Fresnes, Gentilly, Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, L'Haÿ-les-Roses and Villejuif.
The town has a very interesting historical heritage, as evidenced by the aqueduct bridges of Arcueil and Cachan, the first of which, the Lutetia aqueduct, was built in Gallo-Roman times at the end of the 2nd and beginning of the 3rd centuries, the Maison des Gardes and the church of Saint-Denys. The town also has other buildings not to be missed, such as the Perret chapel, the Raspail house or the former town hall, now the Marius Sidobre Centre, all of which are protected as Historic Monuments.
