Hono Kai A5 is a ground-floor, 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom condo featuring ocean and pool views, easy access to the property from your lanai, and 1 window A/C unit in the bedroom. Unit A5 can accommodate up to 4 guests. The bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed in the bedroom and the en suite bathroom contains a bathtub/shower combo surrounded by marbled tile. As you step into the living room from the bedroom, you'll see sliding doors for added privacy to separate the living space from the intimate bedroom. There is a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room for additional sleeping space, as well as a Smart TV. Take your freshly cooked meals from the newly remodeled kitchen, which is equipped with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops, to either dining options inside or outside.

Hono Kai is a beachfront property where you can enjoy a 6-mile stretch of beach with views of Haleakala and Kaho'olawe, an oceanfront pool, and BQQ areas. Additionally, there is a coin-operated laundry facility for your convenience. Hono Kai is located at Ma'alaea Bay near many attractions, shops, and restaurants. Walk to the Aquarium, enjoy exciting activities from the nearby harbor, play miniature golf and more at Maui Golf & Sports Park, or shop at the Maui Harbor Shops. Ma'alaea is located in central Maui, bringing you closer to either side of the island. There are no resort or parking fees.

First trip to the island. Accommodations were great. Only difference that I could see is that the “50 steps to the beach” was not accurate…. Try 15 and it was great. Would recommend again and the host was very nice.

Great beachfront location! A little noisy due to proximity to the pool, but all guests were respectful of quiet times. Would stay there again.

Unit is very nice

The owners of the unit sit an amazing job in renovating! Great relaxing feeling upon entry! We enjoy cooking our own meals and the unit has all the amenities needed. The location is close to the airport and all the stores for you to purchase anything you need!The building does need some love. I believe erosion has started to take its toll a little bit leaving a rocky beach. Obviously this wasn’t a huge concern for us as seeing the whales and swimming with the turtles greatly made up for it. The corner unit provides great access to the pool and BBQ. On the flip side be prepared to see people coming and going a lot more than another unit. There is no safe in the unit. Mind you, we never felt insecure about safety at this condo as many cameras are filming and watching you all the time. It’s just an amenity we have grown to appreciate over time in other stays. In conclusion, I would definitely rent this unit again if I was to go back to Maui, as the owners have done a great job. Thanks!!

Perfect stay

This place is the best place I’ve stayed in Maui yet. Amazing location, comfy, clean, and conveniently located. Loved the pools, on-site bar, store, coffee, restaurant and beach! Parking was super easy, every one was super nice. Loved how we even had a washer and dryer in unit. Loved the big windows. Would deffinatelt stay again! Took our 8 month old here, and it was so relaxing for all of us.

We loved staying here because of the easy access to the beach with our 3 yo. Made it super simple! The unit is in a high traffic spot, so it's not super private, but we had no issues with noise. The aquarium is nearby and also a highlight.

So close to an amazing beach

The last time we were in Maui we stayed in this facility on the second floor. This time we were on the ground floor. The upper floors have an amazing view but the ground floor has great access to the pool and beach. From this unit you are 3-4 steps to the pool and 6-8 steps to the beach. The unit has been nicely updated with quality furnishings. The kitchen has all the things we needed to cook including spices and cooking oil. There is a grill close by to prepare your dinner as well. The only issue we had was a minor insect problem but the condo management sent pest control over the same day we called so it was quickly resolved. The bathroom is small but it’s nicely updated. The king bed was comfortable and a window AC unit cools the whole condo without difficulty. The unit has boogie boards, beach chairs, sand mats and a small cooler in the closet. The reason we continue to stay in this location is the access to the beach. You can literally walk out your door and head down a beautiful beach with very few people and no buildings for a couple of miles, all the way to Sugar Beach. We will stay here again.

Beautiful stay right on Maui's longest white sand beach. Walk for hours with very few people around. The condo is immaculate. Best location on the island as it is in the center of all activities.

Beautiful beachfront Condo

If you are looking for a beachfront condo that is ground level and walks right out onto the sand then this is the place. There is a two mile undeveloped white sand beach that you can walk on every day with few people around. The condo is newly remodeled and very clean. This is the most central area of Maui and is a great place to begin any of your adventures around the island. The condo has boogie boards, beach chairs, and a cooler.

It's great!

We are very happy with our stay at Hono Kai A5. I greatly appreciate the tupperware and cookware which made the occasional cooking a breeze. The beach chairs, boogie boards and snorkel certainly came in handy as well. We were slightly disappointed about the beach which was way rougher than expected but it's not the end of the world either. Thank you for maintaining this cozy and lovely space!

Fabulous place

We absolutely loved this place. The beach so close right out the sliding glass door. The bed was so comfortable and it made the week we spent there so amazing. The condo was fully stocked with everything you need to cook any meal. The only problem we had was in the bathroom when I used my blow dryer, the breaker would pop off. I was glad I was able to find the breaker box to reset it.

Amazing Location and quiet!

What a great place… literally 50 ft from the ocean and miles of Sandy beach to walk with very few tourists. Nice pool and easy to get around! Very easy to get there and get in to condo which was clean and very well stocked. Laundry right outside our door! You need quarters but perfect! Would stay again!!!

Hono Kai Condo #A5

The place had everything we needed for the kitchen to make our meals, including spices, salt, and oil. We immensely like it was recently renovated with newer furniture and appliances. The sinks, tub, and toilet all drain very well. The water pressure is excellent. The bed was very comfortable. They supply enough towels, pillows, and beach chairs. The pool and patio are cleaned and well-maintained. The minuses: no shampoo, conditioner, hand soaps, loud AC, one fan has a clicking noise, the parking spot is too tight, and the code to the swimming pool is wrong. Good thing the manager recognized we were struggling and gave us the new code. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. We stayed for eight days, and first time in Maui.
