Mountain Top Retreat

The cabin sits atop a mountain and offers spectacular views of its surroundings, including Ute Valley, Wheeler Peak and the Black Lake area, bordering on state land on two sides.

You will enjoy serene privacy as the home sits at the end of a cul-de-sac and offers direct private access to state land through multiple gates, including to access a road for motorized vehicles. A hunting blind is available.

The area is home to elk, deer, wild turkeys, bears, mountain lions and a host of other wildlife for your enjoyment.

You're minutes from Monte Verde Lake, the golf course and the ski area.

Please note that the access road is QUITE STEEP in two sections and four-wheel drive is REQUIRED with a seasoned driver when snow is present and the road to the home can be difficult to drive up or down with snow or ice. Chains are highly recommended.

The home has a FIRM NO SHOES policy so please bring your favorite slippers or comfy socks. It keeps the home clean and has been shown to provide a healthier environment as well. It also protects and preserves the wood floor.

Any disrespectful, rude or aggressive behavior towards the host or her property at anytime during your stay will be considered breach of contract and you and your party will be asked to leave the property, including with police assistance, if necessary. Please remember that this OUR home and WE get to choose who is permitted to stay in our cabin. Be kind or please rent elsewhere. There are many other cabins in the area to choose from that will suit your personality and communication style.

In addition to the costs outlined, a refundable cabin protection assurance fee in the amount of $300 will be required at the time of booking. This fee IS FULLY REFUNDABLE as set forth in the House Rules. Additional fees can be incurred through Airbnb’s own insurance policy.

We have an exterior camera to monitor the exterior of our home. Any attempt at disabling, redirecting or obscuring the camera is prohibited and will result in full forfeiture of the cabin protection assurance fee and may, at the owner’s discretion, result in the guest being evicted without refund of outstanding nights’ rents.
