I recently stayed in the Penthouse in Aruba and overall had a lovely time. The unit has gorgeous views, feels very inviting, and is in a fantastic location. Its close to the beach, restaurants, and shops. The beds were comfortable, and we felt safe throughout our stay, as the property had visible security, which was reassuring. The balcony with its stunning views was truly everything and one of the highlights of the trip.There were, however, a few issues with cleanliness and communication. Upon arrival, the upstairs toilet was not thoroughly cleaned. I reached out to both the host and the reservation agent who welcomed me by text. I didn’t hear back at first, and only after following up did the agent reply the next day, saying they would coordinate with housekeeping and get back to me but I never received an update. On the third night, the host messaged me and apologize and instructed me to call the front desk the next morning. I wish I had known that process from day one, and that the agent had simply told me what to do initially. Once I contacted the front desk, they did send someone promptly to clean the bathroom.The showers also seemed clogged. Maintenance checked but wasn’t able to resolve the issue, so water backed up and created standing water during showers.Lastly, we weren’t able to fully enjoy the views from the bedroom and living room because the shades were difficult to pull up. The bedroom shade wouldn’t go up at all, which was disappointing given the scenery.
