All Sugar Beach Resort Maui condos feature a private lanai, a fully-equipped kitchen, free WiFi, a washer/dryer, and all the resort amenities you’d expect from the best hotels.

Great view and very comfortable

We really enjoyed the view and the furnishings were very comfortable and clean, the bed was one of the best we’ve ever slept on. Great place to just sit on lanai and enjoy the view, easy access to beach. We were there during construction and it was still very quiet from 5pm-9am. We were usually out and about or on the beach.

Quiet Beach front condo

We felt lucky to rent a beach front condo just a couple of weeks before our stay. This reasonably priced condo had everything we needed.

Amazing view

Clean place with a killer view. Great central location and nice amenities. Only thing is the front door whistles if it’s windy outside, but didn’t really bother me. Other than that place worked out great!

Perfect for whale watching and everything else

This location was great for watching whales from the balcony. We saw them nearly every time we looked outside. The location in the center of the island allows for quick trips to all areas. The condo itself is clean for a rental place and has all you need to basically go nowhere else if you choose.

Gorgeous view

The ocean front view is absolutely gorgeous! Gift bag of local goodies was a wonderful touch. Really appreciate the fact that the unit has a full size kitchen plus washer and dryer. Also things like laundry detergent, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper provided.

Ants but good location

The location of this place is fabulous. Beach for morning and evening walks, great view of bay and good for whale watching. #528 needs a good paint job, and new frying pan--because everything sticks to the ones here. Liked the instructions on how to use the TV--clear, unlike some experiences.

The unexpected

We were very please to find an adequate amount of dishwasher soap in the kitchen as well as the good amount of washing machine detergent. Nice touch and an extra roll of paper towels. On the other hand, I like to do fried eggs for breakfast and please oh please don’t subject another vacationer to those frying pans. They’re the worst ever.

Not clean and outdated Condo

The condo was outdated and all the furnishings were old and worn out. It was not clean. Bed sheets had stains, pillows extremely uncomfortable, utensils old and rusted, no lids to containers except for only two. Also dead cockroaches all over the welcome mat in front of the entrance. I took pictures of everything. Definitely not worth the price per night. Also because it is managed by a third party (Vacasa Property Management) and not the owner directly, there are additional fees to stay there. Please be aware. The property itself was nice and clean and good location. This Condo needs an update and it is more like $150 per night because of the location and view.

Unit #528 Needs Love

We've been coming to Sugar Beach for years, first time in unit #528. The view, as usual, was gorgeous. Can't be beat. We enjoy walking the beach & the proximity to the Farmers Market. Other pluses were new towels & a nice, firm bed. Less than satisfactory was the need for serious updating on all levels. The kitchen needs paint, at least one full set of matching dinner ware & utensils. It felt like everything was from a thrift store. Microwave worked, but was placed on a shelf with greasy, peeling paint. The counter tops were old, worn & dirty, as were the cabinets. This was not a housekeeping issue, merely age. The furnishings were all outdated & seriously worn. We were hopeful to say "Wow" when we first entered, but unfortunately gasped "OMG"!

Beautiful beach and ocean view

We had a good time at Sugar Beach Resort 528. The room is a bit aged. The view from the lanai/patio was spectacular. The mirrors make the room look large but it’s a small condo. The A/C went out on our last night thankfully we were checking out the next morning. The left screen door for the lanai was broken so we couldn’t slide it open. It was super windy most of our stay at Sugar Beach so wind noise was present at the bottom of the door and the bedroom window. Loud enough to wake you up. But very easy access to the beach. Next time I’ll stay at a different resort and different area (Lahaina-Kannapali, Wailea).

You can’t beat this view

My husband and I stayed in condo 528. It had a perfect view of the ocean. The balcony was big enough to enjoy meals on while watching the sun rise or set. The room decor could be updated, but the bed was comfortable and the location of the condo was a short drive from all the great sights in Maui. Would stay again without any hesitation.

Great view from a bit aging property.

A+ view from the balcony. Nice to see a pair of beach chairs for guests to use. The entire building is showing the sign of aging especially around the bathroom. The glass shower door was derailed and I had to spend 10+ minutes to realign. Bed and linens were clean and comfortable. The room had enough stock of towels for our entire stay. Cookware and utensils were nice and clean. The kitchen was fully functional.

Wonderful Stay

Best part of our stay in 528 was the view from the lanai! Sunsets were beautiful and peaceful. Overall the unit was well maintained and clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Nice touch that Beach chairs and umbrella were included. Great value.

Great view

This place was perfect for our stay. It’s in a great central location with easy access to all areas of the island. This condo has a perfect view of the ocean, great for sunsets and whale watching every evening.

Bed bugs, dusty

We stayed a few nights out of our week trip here before noticing bed bugs in the bedroom. I personally killed 6 or so adults, multiple little tiny ones and upon lifting the mattress I'm pretty sure I saw eggs everywhere. Cockroach trap in the closet but no cockroaches, apparently someone reviewed this place after we signed up and said it had cockroaches. Nice spot, good view but this room is going down hill fast. Run away, give them a year to think about what they've done here. The cleaning fees on these are quite a lot...yet it both places we were in didn't even really look vacuumed. The rugs are dirty, behind everything is a ton of built up dust from years of not being cleaned. Even where they moved us too is wasn't cleaned like the cleaning fees would buy in my home town. I could get a deep clean for these prices. Also I saved these guys money by telling them about the toilet that was just throwing tons of water down the drain every second, all day, everyday probably for months, water bill on that must've been Huge. Still haven't seen any kind of a refund for the day wasted dealing with decontamination, or sleeping for days with bugs or saving them future money on water. Maybe this review will kickstart that process. When we told them about the bugs, it took 5 hours just to figure out that we had to do everything ourselves, nobody helped with decontamination or showed up, only people I saw were there for the toilet I mentioned. Literally only talked to people on the phone. Then right at 5pm, right at the end of the guys shift change they gave me another room as the guy was ending his day shift and phone numbers were changing.
