'Wastin' Away 'es una cabaña que ha sido remodelada con las comodidades modernas. Es una casa pequeña, con dos dormitorios y 1 baño, pero tiene una gran sala de estar. Está cerca de las hermosas playas del Golfo, ofreciendo a los huéspedes un valor real en su visita a la playa.
'Wastin' Away 'está completamente amueblado, todo lo que necesita traer es su comida y ropa para pasar un rato divertido en nuestras hermosas playas de arena blanca no llenas de gente.
Para aquellos interesados en la pesca en la bahía o en el golfo, el lanzamiento de un barco público en el sitio histórico de Fort Morgan, a aproximadamente 2 millas de distancia, ofrece un acceso rápido tanto a Mobile Bay como al Golfo de México.

Se admiten mascotas en nuestras playas, como el alcohol, además de que no tiene que quitar el equipo de playa todas las noches.

Beach vacation

Had a good time surf fishing. Just a short walk to the beach where we were able to enjoy walks with our dog. Owner was very prompt to reply to any questions.

Very quiet and close to the beach

Small but quaint 2 bedroom house with everything you need for a private trip to Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan area. The owner's are very accommodating to your needs with a quick call.

Best place for the money

Older home but very clean and priced right. My wife and I will be staying here again. Short walk to the beach and beaches are not crowded.

Girls weekend

We loved our stay here! So cozy and close to the beach. It was just me and my SIL and the weekend was relaxing and refreshing. Will definitely stay here again!!

2024 Fort Morgan trip

We had a very pleasant trip. There were ants in the house, but not enough to bother any of us, did not appear furniture had been moved and cleaned under and behind; quite a build up of dust. It was great to be so close to the beach access. I loved being able to take our dogs to the beach and to meet so many other fur families.

Location, Location, Location

This property is located in a family and pet friendly neighborhood. Gulf Shores is a short and easy drive away and Dauphin Island is a fun Ferry ride away. The beach is just steps away! The communication from the property managers was fantastic!

Great place and amazing location!

This place is wonderful! It was just right for two adults. Sure, the furnishings might be a bit dated, but they were functional. And nothing can beat this location! We wanted a quiet place for some beach R&R, and we got exactly that!

We were very pleased, the house was nice and clean and not far from the beach. Tina was an awesome host and we will stay in a property owned by her, if available, next time we go on vacation. Convenient to Gulf Shores snd places to eat.

The house was amazing a little small but for a family of 4 perfect. The house is a little lower to the ground than the rest of the houses down there so if you are over 6 foot tall you have to watch your head. The house was clean an comfortable

Sweet Home Alabama

Vicki and I were looking for a place that we could escape the winter and found it here at Wasting Away. It’s a beach bungalow cottage with everything you need to enjoy Fort Morgan, one of the best kept secret's. The place had what we needed and if it wasn’t there we went to the Dollar General to get it. Wasting Away is about the beach, surf fishing, Mardi Gras and the Blue Angles flying by. If you have pets it’s perfect, a short walk to the dog friendly beach and miles of open space to run and play. The open floor plan has the longest kitchen center piece I’ve ever seen. Great for gatherings and just spreading out a buffet. Wasting Away is for independent minded people that can improvise, making it what you want it to be. It was the perfect place for the beach hippie in me. We plan to come back soon.

Condemnable Property!

We rented this property for a week, but within 30 minutes of arriving, we left and went to a hotel. The next day I notified the owner that we would not be staying for the week. I realize this property is older and therefore, definitely more affordable but it is simply unacceptable. Please, please avoid the mold, dirt, dust and just plain filth factor of this property!! I don't want anyone else to fall victim to a ruined vacation!!

DO NOT STAY HERE

Do not stay here unless you love extra unwarranted charges. We were charged $150 for leaving a very little food in the fridge and a little trash in a bag in the kitchen. I have proof! Ask me for details. TERRIBLE hosts. Called and harassed me. I have the pics that caused them to do so. Love fort Morgan, this is the first place to make me not enjoy my time here. Tina Scarborough and husband are awful.

Not cared for owner told me they hadn't been these in 3 years

Not happy Disappointed the deck was a health hazard, loose boards gaps in them, due to only 2 to 4 screws in one end. When I told owner of leaks she told me I could leave if that's what I needed to do......what really!!! And top it of everything flooded from storm, granted none of us control the weather. But all the other yards ,only Ours remained for 5 days........ took us two hours to carry luggage down and through 2 ft of sewer,swampy water and then drive our 12 hour trip home!!!! She is a rude non customer caring property owner. I bought the insurance and yet we were the ones who got the damages..........

We are native Alabamians. We live in Tallassee, Alabama (a small town in central Alabama between Montgomery and Auburn, Alabama).
Joe and I are retired: Joe from being an Ag. teacher in the local high school, and from being an Attorney; Tina from the medical field. We have a herd of commercial Angus Cattle that we tend to, enjoy actively participating in our Church, traveling with our friends, and spending as much time as possible in Fort Morgan taking boat rides on Mobile Bay, fishing and shrimping, riding the ferry to Dauphin Island, bike rides in the Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island area, and not the least of which: ENJOYING THE PRETTIEST BEACH IN THE WORLD..........here in Ft. Morgan!!!!!!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The Fort Morgan area reminds us of how Gulf Shores was forty (40) years ago- prior to the proliferation of condos, both in Gulf Shores and in Orange Beach. Ft. Morgan is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the pristine white sandy beach, salt air, and ever-present Gulf breezes; a community of single-family homes, with great neighbors and friends.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

'Wastin' Away' is a short walk to the beach- the street (Bernard Court East) actually dead ends onto the beach- there is no cutting through other property owner's yards, or walking down the beach front road east or west to access the 'public' areas. The Gulf and Bay views can be enjoyed from the front deck. Since the house is located about a 1/4 mile away from the marina, and less than a mile from the Ft. Morgan historic site with public boat launch and fishing pier, there are a lot of fishing and boating activities available- we enjoy shrimping and fishing in Mobile Bay.
