The view is breathtaking. Watching the sunset from the lanai was my favorite. We saw quite a few sea turtles and a monk seal. Not too many people snorkeling in the secret spot because everyone is at the lagoon or further down.

Beautiful marina view to have coffee or a cocktail watching the waves. Great place for a couple. Easy access to restaurants and shops. Parking pass was a great asset. Felt very safe in building and area. Quiet and peaceful building.

The unit was very clean and the view was spectacular! This unit included garage parking under the building which made things extremely easy when going out on adventures around the island and returning. There were more than enough spaces to find adjacent to the elevators.The owner of the unit handles the communications for check in and check out and does so in a timely manner which made the whole process very easy.If I were to return back to Hawaii and the Honolulu area I would most definitely try to utilize this unit again!I had some really great sunset photos but this site won’t let me upload them…..you would think VRBO would have figured it out by now!!

We had a fabulous stay at Chris’s VRBO in Waikiki! From the start, Chris communicated the check-in process clearly, which made everything smooth and stress-free. He also went above and beyond by sharing great local tips on where to hit the beach, book surf lessons, and find some amazing places to eat.The rental itself was perfect—spotless, well-equipped with everything we needed, and the views were absolutely spectacular. Chris was also incredibly gracious in allowing us a later checkout, which gave us more time to enjoy our last day in paradise.I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely book again the next time we’re in Waikiki!

Great views, close to everything. Having the parking was a big plus and easy to access thru the lobby elevator. The hosts communicate nicely with any detail about check in check out, parking, transportation directions, etc,.

Location is good. Unit needs cleaning.

The location was good. It is advertised as a vintage kitchen. It was old and dirty. Stove, oven need deep cleaning. Refrigerator was dirty and rusted on the outside. Caulk in shower was dirty, rusty and moldy.

Location wise - this place is GREAT. Prime location in Waikiki, walking distance to the beach, good restaurants and the lagoon that we absolutely loved. Views of the harbor and ocean from the balcony were also top notch, and a great way to start and end each day. The unit itself is smaller than it appears in photos, and does feel dated. If you are looking for locals beach-shack vibes, this is perfect. If you are just looking for a no-frills spot to crash each night, this is your spot. The decor, appliances, and kitchen/bathroom are pretty dated. The walls are thin, and we could hear the people above us walking (or stomping?) around daily. The underground parking garage is a plus, and as long as you go in with the right impressions, you will be happy. I will say the photos look a little nicer than the unit in-person, and there was an underwhelming vibe until we opened the curtains and saw the view. All in all, we would recommend if you don't want the hotel experience in Waikiki.

Convenient Location

We were busy with adventures most days and this condo was a nice retreat after driving all over the island. The day we had nothing planned, it was nice to just walk and explore the area. Conveniently located by car or foot this made our vacation an enjoyable experience.

Nice and comfortable

This studio met all of our needs. It was neat and clean. The owners made sure we had all the little things we would want or need for our stay; snorkels, beach chair, small cooler as well as laundry detergent if needed.I would say that the unit could use a bit of updating, but everything functioned well.

Comfy stay

Everything we needed was there for us. We didn’t use the kitchen other than to keep our drinks cold but seemed to have everything needed. Very organized and the little thoughtful things like washer pods and dryer sheets so no need to leave with dirty clothes.

Nice place, nice owner, a little dated

We had a good time at this condo! Convenient location, nice to have parking, and nice view out towards the harbor. The owner made it easy to check in and out and do all the things we needed--no complaints about that! Bed was comfortable, AC did fine...comfortable to be there.Some things didn't meet our expectations so well. The kitchen looks neat and retro online, but really it's simply old. Coffee brewer I used was old and dirty from little cleaning. Same with the bathroom, where old vinyl and shower equipment shows its age.A lot of this comes from paying more than other same-building condos for this unit, and then not having the place match what I was hoping for. Isn't that my problem? Yeah...but I'd hoped for a little better paying that extra.

Two weeks in Waikiki.

Great location with plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The beach and lagoon are a short five to ten minute walk away. Beautiful beach and marina view from the lanai. The lanai is great for having your morning coffee and watching the evening sunset. Nice fireworks at the lagoon on Friday nights. Chris and Kiersten were great to work with and went the extra mile with our late checkout.

Wow!

We can’t say enough about Oceanfront Ilikai. This condo is open, airy and plenty spacious for 2 …or more. The condo is well-appointed with everything you can think of for a stay at Waikiki…beach chairs, noodles, cooler, yoga mat, snorkels, extra balcony seating. I was especially thankful for two luggage racks (most rentals seem to forget luggage racks) and the parking option. We both found the mattress to be very, very comfortable. I should also mention there is great closet space, extra towels and pillows for those who have a longer stay.We were all over Waikiki …walking, beaching, dining, shopping and this was the perfect location. Our friends who were staying at the Holiday Inn visited us for drinks and loved the condo as well.Our communication with the owner Chris was excellent—all instructions were spot on and timely. Thank you to Chris and Keirsten for a wonderful vacation…wish we could have stayed longer!

Location is great

Location was great. The unit and building were tired. The pool was OK, sometimes towels weren't available. The vents in the bathroom were full of dust and debris. The kitchen was fine, and my husband and I cooked a lot, especially on this vacation, when eating out and food was very expensive. The oven itself was awful and runs VERY hot. The stove top was fine, takes a bit to get used to with push buttons rather than a more modern approach. Everything was just a little bit dirty. I was afraid the closet doors were going to fall off each time I opened them. The "futon" bed was definitely not a queen (my husband and I sleep on a queen bed every night at home. I'm guessing it was a full. It was sufficient for a 12 year old, but would not recommend for anyone older. And more storage would have been appreciated. The saving grace was the location. However, the hosts were accommodating and got us extra supplies, as what was provided was insufficient for our stay. ie: There are no dispensers for bathroom products as I have found in other rentals, and the dish soap would have been just enough for your coffee mugs and not much more. This is an instance of photos somewhat representing what the actuality is.

The Sunset is the best

This location is absolutely the best. It overlooks the marina and the Sunset is amazing. If you are looking for a fabulous place- in the heart of Waikiki- you can’t go wrong. Keirsten and Chris are excellent to work with - great communication which made our stay the best.

Deferred maintenance, cleaning issues

Unfortunately, this unit suffers from significant deferred maintenance and cleaning issues. The kitchen and bathroom flooring, which were not shown in the listing photos, are in poor condition—decayed and visibly dirty, with mold buildup near the shower, toilet, and along the edges of the kitchen cabinets. The front of the refrigerator is rusting, and the kitchen cabinets are musty with an unpleasant odor.Regarding cleanliness, the unit was far from satisfactory. There was a noticeable buildup of dust on the numerous fake flowers scattered throughout. The shower head had visible mold, and the shower door contained significant mold and debris. The cleaning crew did not adequately prepare the unit before my long stay. There was soap scum left in the soap dispenser, a vodka bottle in the bathroom drawer, and, shockingly, they left the unit door unlocked. Additionally, the lanai had not been swept, and the outdoor table was dirty.Guests are asked to limit air conditioning use, yet the only blanket provided was a thick one suited for a Minnesota winter, with no alternatives available.While the parking and the view were excellent, the poor maintenance and lack of attention to cleanliness ruined our experience. My family stayed in a different unit at the Illikai, which was in excellent condition, leaving no excuse for the state of this one.

Perfect location

This rental was just as advertised. We loved the convenient location and spent most of our time when we were at the rental sitting on the Lanai. The parking space was a bonus and worked very well. Great communication with the owner.

I own a small tv production company that produces news and travel segments, and I also founded and operate an adventure travel business that has locations on Saipan and Guam. We do really fun activities that include hiking, mountain biking, zip lining, ATV Riding, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, and Go Karting. I love ocean sports, beach volleyball, soccer, tennis, and baseball.

I love staying here, it's right on the water and easy to paddle out to some of the best breaks on the south shore. Tennis and volleyball are nearby at Ala Moana Beach Park and everything is within walking or biking distance. The Ilikai has a lot of charm, and it's great to have a kitchen, a direct ocean view, the safety, security and cleanliness of a well-managed hotel and still be in Waikiki. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

When walking into the unit, the ocean view always takes my breath away and I love looking at the waves out front and all of the boats in the yacht harbor. Sunsets here are pretty special and with boats coming and going no two are ever the same. It's great being on the ocean side of Ala Moana Boulevard as you can be in the water in a couple of minutes without driving and it's very easy to walk to just about anywhere. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby as well as Foodland Farms grocery store (inside Ala Moana Shopping Center) which has great local produce, fresh bread, poke, and lots of gourmet items. The kitchen is well equipped and you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner right out on the lanai overlooking the water, with a better view than just about any restaurant in Oahu. The 15th floor is really the sweet spot.....incredible views and you can still hear the ocean and island music from below.
