Designed to cater to multiple generations, this wonderful modern farmhouse sits on a lot with plenty of trees, laurel, and has all the amenities you could hope for.

Whether enjoying the hot tub on the deck or sipping your morning coffee in the sun porch you are sure to find peace and relaxation at the Pisgah Shadows Cottage. We also have all the modern conveniences from WiFi, smart TVs, and an office set up in the 3rd bedroom for a working vacation. This area is a bicyclers paradise and this cottage is just one turn off of a registered scenic bike route; in the garage you'll find an air compressor and tools in case you get a flat tire or need to work on your bike.

Pisgah Shadows Cottage is located only six miles from DuPont State Forest with it's incredible waterfalls and over 80 miles of hiking and mountain bike trails and also only six miles from the Pisgah National Forest where you will find the Davidson River which boast more trophy trout per mile than any other stream in the country as well as tubing and Sliding Rock!

Over 1200 square feet of heated living space provides you with a 2 queen bedrooms and another full bedroom (all with closets with shelves and hangers provided), two full baths, living room, fully-equipped kitchen, sun porch, garage with bicycle repair area, and full laundry.

When the day is through and you have hiked the tails and seen the waterfalls in the national and state forests, you can retreat to your private cottage and still be in the middle of nature's beauty. It is everything you are looking for... Enjoy!

Only concern was the mattress in master bedroom was too firm causing some neck discomfort. TV’s were very slow to download programming. Could be older TVs or slow internet. Fenced yard was great for our k9. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Outdoor retreat

We really enjoyed our stay at Pisgah Shadows Cottage. Everything was as described and better. The neighborhood was quiet and close to DuPont State Park & other parks. The fenced in area was great for our dog. We would stay again when we visit the area.

Work trip

2nd time staying here and I love it. The calm and clarity I get by staying here is a nice break away from home. The house is always super clean. My dog loves the fenced in yard and I love the hot tub. This is my go to spot whenever I visit Brevard for work.

Wonderful Mountain getaway

The house was so comfortable and a perfect combo of what we needed. The dogs loved the fenced in back yard. We highly enjoyed the hot tub on cooler nights and the kitchen was so cute. The whole place was very clean and so easy to get in. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Quiet and dog friendly

We stayed for a long weekend and had a great time. The fenced yard was perfect for the dog. The hot tub pictured is not the same one as is now on the property but worked fine.

Part of a Great Christmas

We chose this property based on its location and it exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room; visiting family members commented on the open floor plan. The fenced side yard was a huge plus (it would be even better with a light for nighttime). Overall we were pleased with everything.

Close to biking and hiking

We enjoyed our stay in this house. It is close to DuPont state forest where we spent most of our time hiking or biking. The hot tub was very nice in the evenings. The house was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog.

Location was ideal in quiet mountain neighborhood. House was clean and only one step to get inside, so very easy to unload and load up everything. Hot tub on back porch was easily accessible. Fenced yard was a bonus for our dog. Would rent again.

Short weekend stay

My boyfriend and his parents stayed here for a trail run we had in town. We all thought the protest was exactly as it shows online. It was clean and easy to get in and out of. Very close to the town and would definitely recommend. Will stay here again when coming back to town! Only thing we would mention, was that outside by the fenced in portion, there’s no lights (like a flood light) so taking the dog out to the bathroom at night we used our phone flash light. Could be beneficial to add in a small outdoor light if possible. Really enjoyed our stay!

Great place in a great location

We chose this property for a kid-free week while the children were at a nearby summer camp. The property itself is wonderful and features many updates, super comfortable beds, abundant towels and some nice touches that we happen to appreciate such as quiet-close toilets and an ice maker. And the hot tub is great for helping with the aches if you've overdone the hiking. The location is ideal for accessing all the waterfall hikes the region is known for, and there are ample choices for dining and entertainment within a 15-20 minute drive. We loved it and hope to be back!

Highly Recommend Pisgah Shadows

We had an amazing stay at Pisgah Shadows! The home was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing week. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials and the small details like the folded towel sets on the end of each bed was a nice touch. The hot tub was a huge plus and was clean and well maintained. We also loved the fully fenced yard, which was perfect for our dogs to run and play safely. The location was great. David and Darla were very responsive. Check out Bear8.Com, they have a Sniff Spot that you can rent hourly to take your dog to run and play. We didn't get a chance this time but we will definitely give that a try next time. Overall, Pisgah Shadows exceeded our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Ideal Mountain House

House was easy to find in the mountains in between Brevard and Hendersonville. Only one step at the front door, so easy to haul in all our travel necessities. Perfect side yard fenced for our senior dog with only a few steps out the side door. House was very clean with plenty of towels (although we bring our own!) and kitchen items. The beds were very comfortable. The hot tub under the trees on the private back porch was a bonus. The neighborhood was very quiet. Would rent this ideal mountain house again.

Relaxing Christmas with family!

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Plenty of towels and washcloths in bathroom. Also, owner had plenty of supplies (kitchen and cleaning) to get you started, which was a nice touch. The hot tub was relaxing. Enjoyed the area off the back porch that allowed you to get dry and chairs to enjoy the beautiful view off the back. The only thing missing to me in the kitchen was a hand mixer. The area is rural, but you have nearby Etowah (10 min. drive) for some restaurants and grocery store (Ingles). Brevard is 15 mins. away for more attractions, restaurants, stores, etc. Had some issues, but owner was quick to address problems. Would come back again!

Just as listed…… just not clean

The place looks just as it does in the pics, but was absolutely filthy upon check-in. I’m not talking about a bit of dirt… I’m talking about balls of dog hair in the corners, spilled, sticky stuff on the floor and hair all over the sheets (as if someone didn’t even change them). I spent the first full day cleaning the place and doing laundry. The owners did help with the cleaning fee after we checked out, but do feel they lacked some proactivity to fix the cleanliness issue. The kitchen was well stocked, and the amenities overall comfortable but be ready to not only remove sheets upon checkout but also do a load of laundry, wash, dry and store kitchen stuff and make the beds with “clean” sheets found in the closet.

We stayed for one night away to enjoy a change of scenery & it was perfect! This was such a cozy stay and we had everything we needed. Highly recommend eating at Root & Bone about 10 minutes away for some lovely comfort food! The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog as well.
