This Beautiful Historic Farmhouse was built in 1905. It sits on just over 2 acres boasting breathtaking views of The Grand Staircase and the Escalante River Valley. The property is in the heart of the Escalante Grand Staircase national monument and is walking distance from the grocery store and restaurants. There are 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in the house with an attached Lockout that sleeps an additional 2 people, and has 1 bathroom and a small kitchenette. The Kitchen is fully stocked with pans and dishes. This house is so charming and full of character! You will absolutely love the dark sky! The Milky Way Galaxy at night is a must see!

Fall Break Getaway

This house was great for our family, loved the location so close to town. The renovations done on the house are wonderful. Would definitely stay there again on our next Escalante adventures!

Amazing House and Great Location!!

This house was perfect for our stay. We were a family of 14 adults who were spreading our sister’s ashes in the southern Utah desert. The house is beautifully furnished, and we had everything we needed at our fingertips for a comfortable and memorable stay. And it’s amazing how this historic home has been beautifully renovated and updated. The AC worked amazingly well during a relatively hot week. Indeed, we often turned up the thermostats as the house was getting too cold. Bedrooms and bathrooms were amazing! That being said, the smallest bedroom, situated at the highest point of the house, does not have a window that opens or an AC outlet, so that room was rather warm at night, even with a fan. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout the house, which was appreciated as some of us had to check in with work. The kitchen is laid out really well. Visiting and preparing meals around the big island was fun. Between the two tables in the house and the outside table and benches under the pergola, we were able to sit together for meals. The house is ideally located for visiting the great destinations of southern Utah – Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome Basin, Calf Creek Falls, Boulder and the Burr Trail, and the amazing sites down Hole in the Rock Road. Finally, communicating with Nick was effortless. We got immediate feedback, which was greatly appreciated. If we are ever in Southern Utah in the future and want a big house to accommodate us, we will definitely book this house again!!

Idyllic escape

Perfect, albeit not long enough escape to the desert! House was well appointed, beautifully restored mix of old and new, and great location in the Grand Staircase to get to Thunder Mountain for mountain biking, hiking in Bryce and exploring great diversity in the Escalante area (Zebra Slot Canyon and Lower Calf Creek Falls). House was perfect for 2 couples in 60s to reunion with young adult kids…great outdoor dining at the house, well equipped kitchen and lots of extras!! Mignon has been a wonderfully responsive and helpful host!

Escalante family adventure

Escalante is a giant playground. Our family met and stayed in this beautiful remodeled historic home right in Escalante, Utah. It met merry all of our expectations and more. The sights and hiking in this area are top notch. What a treat it was! The hosts were very organized and responsive. We’ll be happy to come back again!

Hidden Treasure!

Escalante is a hiker's paradise and a hidden treasure. If you want to enjoy Utah and experience the outdoors this is the place. This property was perfect for our group of 10. Plenty of room for all of us to have our rooms and be comfortable. It has been beautifully updated with a perfect blend of old charm and all the new amenities. We are already making plans to come back and do it again.

Best Escalante Canyon Hiking Family House

Enjoyed the house. Kitchen well stocked with all cooking and eating tools and great appliances. Bathrooms and laundryroom well stocked. Clean home with lots of cozy bedrooms to accomodate our family. We used all 5 bedrooms, the loft, and the lockout apartment. Family room served as fun gathering area in the evening after actvities. Serene location and river not far behind house, just lots of sticker bushes to go thru to get there. This house makes an excellent place to stay for large family. Also, as conveniently located as can be to enjoy hiking many slot canyons, the river, and the falls. Hard to let it go and return home!

Loved it!!

The perfect combination of modern and past! Comfortable common areas with enough space to spread out. Multiple bedrooms gave everyone a chance for their own seclusion as well.

Lovely home. Fit for a crowd

Great kitchen. Generous towels and linens etc. very clean and comfortable. Great mattresses. If I had to give criticism I would say put 2 bedside tables in each bedroom

Great location, great house

We really enjoyed our stay In Escalante & this place was the perfect location for us. Clean with incredible views and lots of bedrooms. kitchen was also well-stocked with pots and appliances. And those night skies were amazing.

Lots of Bedrooms to Spreadout

Good property, clearly had been updated and modernized. Some quirky layout to one of the bathrooms, but overall a great property in Escalante. Very nicely unkept, and house has some significant investments. Showers are tiled nicely. Kitchen is good. Would stay there again,.

Modern farm house

Charming and private modern farm house well situated. Easy walk to Main Street. Well appointed and equipped. Very responsive host. We certainly would recommend.
