Pack your bags and bring your boat! Markus Retreat is located within blocks of Fort Drummond Marina and some of the best fishing Drummond has to offer! This beautiful two story home was completely remodeled and tastefully decorated throughout in the Spring of 2021. It is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing vacation with the privacy of a home-away-from-home. Located on S. Ellis Rd, off of S. Whitney Bay Rd, on a quiet dead end. This home is within walking distance of Whitney Bay and Fort Drummond Marina. If you enjoy peaceful strolls, head east to S. Popular Rd where you can stroll through the woods on a road less traveled. This home is perfect for Salmon fishermen, jeepers and nature lovers of all kind.

The open floor plan is perfect for family gatherings! It features a living area, dining and spacious, well-stocked kitchen. There is also a separate laundry room. There are four Smart TVs for you to log into your own personal streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Sling, etc.) to watch all your favorite shows. Or head outdoors to relax on the deck or around the firepit. The main floor bedroom features a full bed. The main floor bath has a tub/shower combo. Bedroom two is located upstairs with a large open layout, offering a king bed, queen bed and a Chaise for additional sleeping. The shared large upstairs bath features a tub/shower combo.

· Check-In after 4 PM. Check-Out by 9 AM. Check in at Drummond Island Hotel & Vacation Homes at
34834 S Townline Road. We will provide you with keys & directions.
· Any fees associated with processing a credit card will NOT be refunded if you cancel your reservation.
· Pets welcome. Pet reservation is required. Please read our Pet Policy. Two Dog max. A $50 per pet fee
will be added by Property Manager.

Great vacation spot

Good location very clean and we even had a deer visit us multiple times a day .it was such a cool place that I am looking to purchase a cabin on the island

Drummond Island

We had a wonderful stay! This is a very quiet and secluded location. The house was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. We got so much rest, enjoyed the fire pit and porch and some quality family time exploring, and fishing around the island. Thanks for a great long weekend!

Mini vacation

Very nice house, clean and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Only downfall was that we thought it would be closer to water with beach access.

Quiet, comfortable home on Drummond

Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Markus retreat. It is perfectly sized for 4-5 people, and has most everything you'll need. You'll have to drive most anywhere you want to go (grocery, restaurant, beaches, etc), but that was fine with us.... While there it was very quiet and laid back.

Markus Retreat

Very clean and recently updated house. water even filtered in a pitcher did not taste good. Very nice people to deal with. Deer visited daily for apples.

Cute Clean Cottage

We enjoyed our stay here. We lacked nothing -stocked well with linens, paper goods and kitchen items. The reception on the TV was not great. We had trouble finding the road as there was no road sign. The rental itself was fine

The Smart TV has digital channels, and you are also able to log into your accounts such as Netflix. It's always best to follow the driving directions we provide because Google Maps is not very accurate and sometimes there aren't road signs for various reasons. Thank you for your 5 star review

Beautiful and relaxing

This house is set in a beautiful, peace and quiet location. It is nicely decorated, spacious, very comfortable. We are a family with two teenagers, there was lots of room for us to do something together or do our own individual thing if we wanted to. There is no air conditioning, but lots of windows to open and fans to turn on. We stayed during the second half of July, there was no problem. Bring your 4x4 or any off-road vehicle to experience the island fully. A wonderful area for the nature lovers. Watch for the pots, pans, plates, etc. Apparently nobody is responsible for cleaning or checking those, we had a lot of dirty items in the cupboards. No dishwasher either.

I apologized for this being missed when you emailed us the day before your departure. I would have sent someone out to correct the issue had you alerted us earlier in your stay. Quiet Retreat

We had deer visiting almost every day. I saw many more when I went for a run. Near enough to the marina to walk - where we took our grandchildren to fish. Pleasant home with many extras (toys and games) for the kids to play with. A small movable dishwasher on wheels would have been a nice touch so we didn't have to do dishes while on vacation. Like others have posted, the water was very hard. Suggest guests bring bottled water or a Berkey (we did both). As many kitchen items as there were, there were no measuring cups. All in all very enjoyable and we would go there again. The street does not have a name on it, and the house does not have a number. We suggest the owner take steps to provide both. We actually had a UPS delivery made there and the driver fortunately found us.

Incredible and peaceful property!

The property is fantastic and so peaceful! At dawn and dusk you can wake up to the sounds of loons on either side of the property and there is all kinds of wildlife nearby. The closeness of the Marina is a real plus as well, although it can get very crowded at certain times of the day. The inside of the house is in fantastic condition! The beds were extremely comfortable, which is never expected but always a huge positive! The entire space is appointed nicely - the owners clearly put a lot of effort into the site. There were a couple of unwelcome surprises: 1) none of the TVs were set up at all, although I fixed that for most of them so they should work now, and 2) when you drive up to the property it is extremely nerve-wracking because the driveway pull up to two parked RVs and and a mobile home, all within 200 feet. We were originally not sure if they were being used or if we were in the wrong place. None were occupied while we were there, but some notice before hand would have saved a bit of concern from the family. It is a really excellent property in a great location (minus the note above) and I highly recommend staying here. There are some fantastic touches in the house as well, like the hosts providing K-cups for the coffee maker (so good!!) and such!

Nice Drummond Island getaway

Nicely appointed house that was available for a last-minute getaway on Drummond Island. Quiet and secluded, with an easy walk to the water - saw many deer and could hear loons at dusk and dawn. The neighboring trailer and houses across the drive were a bit of a concern when we first pulled in, but all was quiet and no problems. We even found out the people across the drive work at the marina and were very friendly. Bring extra soap and shampoo - the water is very hard and the provided soaps didn't last long.

This house is so stinkin cute!

This house was truly adorable. It was fully stocked, clean and comfortable. There was everything we needed for our stay with a few extra touches. They even put out cute bowls for my dog! Definitely would stay again! And, I hope this gets a good rating, I never give a perfect score because there's always room for improvement, but I had no issues and they were all super friendly and available!

Sorry for the picture, we have removed it. We were planning on cutting trees to give a water view off the upstairs balcony, but the season has gotten so busy we ran out off time. So glad you enjoyed this property! The owners put a lot of time into the interior renovations. More to come next season!

short getaway

Driving across the island to check in is a pain especially for someone pulling a trailer. Punch code lock entry is a good way for people to enter when they arrive. The driveway was hard to navigate also with a trailer and just for future with people bringing toys and extra cars it could get even worse we only had a truck and trailer. Hard water filters for the shower heads would be nice, and the house was pretty filthy I wiped everything that was touched with Clorox wipes and I was pretty disgusted honestly. The house is cute and has a lot of potential just better cleaning I have a dog but didn't bring ours and I did not appreciate having other animals fur all over my clothes. Clearly the house wasn't cleaned well before we arrived.

We are beyond disappointed to hear that the home was not cleaned to your expectations. We take a tremendous amount of pride in the cleanliness of our homes and hotel. As you can see from our reviews this is not something we ever hear from our guests. Usually if a guest wants to go straight to the house they call our office and make those arrangements. We are always glad to accommodate when we can.

Clean, updated, spacious

We loved our stay at this property. The house was just as described, super clean, and updated throughout. We took our dog and loved the fully gated front deck. There were even cute bowls for his food and water. Lots of widows, ceiling fans, and two portable fans. Plenty of supplies and comfy furnishings. A few suggestions: the upstairs tub was super slippery so be careful, parking was not marked and a little confusing, and unless you are good with well water make sure to bring lots of bottled water (there was a water filter pitcher provided too). We would stay again!
