Step back in time and stay in St. Paul's historic West 7th neighborhood at St. Paul's Cottage in the City duplex. Enjoy the historic charm with the comfort of modern elegance, all while being centrally located in the Twin Cities area. You'll be minutes from the Xcel Center, downtown Saint Paul, United Hospital, CHS Field, Keg & Case, and all the restaurants, bars, and other attractions that the West 7th neighborhood has to offer.

THE SPACE
High ceilings, original (100+ year-old) woodwork, hardwood floors, comfortable furnishings, and modern appliances all complete this West 7th duplex home. Enjoy the experience of a boutique hotel with modern amenities and historic charm, all while maintaining the comfort, flexibility, and privacy of a vacation home.

RING DOORBELLS:
We utilize Ring video doorbells for our guests' safety. This also allows us to ensure the booking details are accurate -- if more people than are listed attempt to check in, or someone other than the person who made the reservation checks in, we'll be alerted.

The second bedroom is a trundle bed to allow for the second single bed.

GATHERINGS:
Please be respectful of the guests staying upstairs. If you're looking to stay up until all hours of the evening, this isn't the best place to stay.

Great weekend getaway

The home was beautiful, there are a lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance and everything the cities has to offer only a short drive away. The hosts are quick to respond to any questions and are very friendly and helpful.

comfy clean and convenient!

Easy to find, easy to access and just the space I needed for a few days with family from out of town. Spacious kitchen for coffee and chatting, close to a favorite Italian restaurant. The space was warm and clean, beds comfortable. Parking right outside the door made unloading a breeze. Would stay again!

Everything we expected

The property was very clean and welcoming. The owners provided a swift and easy rental process along with check in and check out process. The details that were kept from the original construction were timeless. Do not stay in a hotel stay in this property!

Great hosts, beautiful property right in town

The house is 100+ years old but has been lovingly kept and upgraded! Hosts are amazing and provide everything you’d need except food and your toothbrush! House is in an older quiet neighborhood but restaurants are a short drive or even walk away!

Comfortable get away

The check in process was simple. Good communication with the host. The neighborhood felt safe with food options within walking distance. The house was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. It provided a good base for our daily sight seeing and excursions. We would gladly stay there again.

Another Great Experience

This was our second stay at this property and second five star rating. House is well equipped and very clean. Location is great. The house is a short walk to at least two great restaurants and less than 5 mins by car to the children's museum of Minnesota and the Science Museum. Communication with host was excellent. Looking forward to another stay next summer on our way to the North Shore.

sunshine and wood floors

With its beautiful wood floors & trim and genuine historic home touches, Cottage in the City gave me a nice reminder of growing up in a 100+ year old home. The 2-bedroom rental is spacious, extremely clean, and equipped with a powerful window air conditioner (important in the current heat wave). Elizabeth & Austin are proactive communicators and very responsive. This property has Ring video cameras at the entries. While I am never going to be a fan of entry-door security cameras, the pincode door locks made entries & exits a breeze. There is a separate rental upstairs; quiet hours on both levels are maintained from 10pm to 8am.

Charming Place in St. Paul

I stayed here for a week with my teenage daughter, and we both loved it. It’s very charming and spacious. The kitchen is very large, and there were two bedrooms for privacy. It was in a great location and near everything we wanted to do. I highly recommend it!

Great way to enjoy St Paul!

Great bottom duplex with all the amenities of home! Perfect for our family of three as a home base while enjoying all the attractions St Paul. Off street parking space was a huge bonus during a late season snowstorm. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend for a low key, relaxing stay. Neighborhood is safe, quiet, and convenient.
