Spacious kid-friendly chalet minutes to Boone, Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Pkwy

*Vehicles with four wheel drive are strongly encourage during winter months. Our private road is plowed, but may still be challenging for non-four wheel drive vehicles.*

Nestled at 3,800 feet of elevation in the mountains just outside Blowing Rock NC, off the Blue Ridge Parkway, is Parkway Hideaway.

Our 2,200 sqft mountain chalet is classically styled with tongue and groove galore and antler chandelier. It features 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 large entraining spaces and nearly 700 sqft of deck space - perfect for spending time outside in the clean mountain air.

Blazing fast internet (400DL/20UL), perfect for remote working.

Ample parking for 4 cars. We have a camera facing the driveway for security purposes - it does not view any of the outdoor living/lounging areas.

Our chalet offers classic High Country style with tongue and groove walls and ceilings on the main floor, an antler chandelier which hangs over the main seating area which also features a beautiful stone gas fireplace (and an 86" tv with Bose soundbar).

Upstairs, the master bedroom is pure relaxation. With a king Nectar mattress, classic decor and a private balcony to enjoy the morning sunrise, you'll feel your stress melt away.

The main floor kids room features two twin bunkbeds and enough toys to keep your little ones entertained for hours.

The downstairs rec rooms offers 3.1 surround sound, PS4 and Wii leather sectional and old fashioned wood-turned-gas stove on a beautiful reclaimed brick hearth.

Down the hall is bedroom number 3, a rustically charmed queen bed with dedicated work station featuring Jack and Jill full bath.

Both adult bedrooms feature televisions with steaming capability.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

My family and I had an excellent weekend here. House was exactly as described. It was easy to get to and situated perfectly from Boone and Blowing Rock. It has a huge TV and tons of things for children to do while there. The grill worked great, the beds were soft, and the kitchen came with everything needed. I needed to speak with the host on several occasions and his responses were immediate. I would highly recommend this house for you next trip.

Dream Gateway surrounded by nature

It was the most beautiful, peaceful and relaxing getaway. This beautiful chalet surrounded by nature and calm. Cozy central fire place that brings everyone together transporting us to a ski chalet atmosphere. It was a time to resource and feel the beautiful nature waking up to the snow while enjoying the warmth of the chalet. As a world traveler where I stayed in the most beautiful places in the world I recommend this chalet to everyone who wants to experience a memorable moment and thank you Brandon for welcoming us always responding to my messages within minutes. We will be back.

Long Weekend Away

We booked this house because our children wanted to play in snow for the long weekend. This house really is like a giant treehouse. We loved having the decks all around the house. Our children loved the layout and all of the toys/games. Our oldest son got to have his own room and bathroom downstairs. The downstairs has a PS4 and a cozy reading nook. Our daughters got to share a room on the main floor with bunk beds and A LOT of toys. They also had their own bathroom. My husband and I stayed upstairs with the baby. There is a pack-n-play set up. The upstairs room is nice and open with a private deck and bathroom. The house was decorated for Christmas still which our children really enjoyed. It was so quiet and peaceful and we got plenty of snow while there. Stores are all close by and it only took 15 minutes to get to town. Brandon was very responsive and contacted me with all of the check in details before arriving. We used the kitchen a lot and it had everything we needed including kid utensils. We loved this house and hope we can stay here again one day!

Fantastic getaway

Our stay at Brandon's house was absolutely spectacular-very easy check-in, beautiful home with incredibly comfortable beds. Very quiet neighborhood, well-equipped kitchen and great views. I loved how each bedroom was on a different floor. Brandon was very quick to respond with questions we had. I highly recommend!

Highly recommend!

Highly recommend this beautiful house! The decor is perfect for a mountain home, the location is ideal and house was spotless upon arrival. We were visiting our oldest at App State and could not have asked for a more ideal location. Equidistant to downtown Blowing Rock and App State and perfectly situated amongst great hiking spots. This has been our favorite house thus far on Vrbo.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

This property was a perfect match for our family of four’s annual getaway to the Blue Ridge mountains! Proximity to downtown Boone, Blowing Rock, skiing, and other nearby attractions made for no shortage of things to do during our stay; and the well appointed and super comfortable home with plenty of entertainment options for the kids provided a perfect place to start each morning and retreat each evening. Our host, Brandon, was extremely communicative and helpful in making sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. We’ll definitely be looking to come back!

Wonderful experience

The house is fully stocked, plenty of room and in a great location. It is off the beaten path a bit but honestly it is between Boone and Blowing Rock-about 10-5 mins to either. Check in was easy, host was very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely return. Thanks Brandon

Great stay

Great Mountain Retreat

Cozy Parkway Hideaway Hang Out

We had the pleasure of enjoying Parkway Hideaway for the entire month of August. Could not imagine a more perfect location right between Boone and Blowing Rock and a two minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Everything at your fingertips. The cabin itself is comfortable and cozy. Very well equipped. Like living in a tree house with the latest in technology. Our host, Brandon, responded to our every concern (their weren't many) immediately. Would love to come back in the Fall, it must be spectacular! Definite two thumbs up!

Wonderful hideaway!

This cabin was perfect for our stay! It is centrally located between Blowing Rock and Boone. It is a two minute drive ( yes, I timed it) to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The property is nestled among lovely hardwood trees and rhododendrons on a quiet, wooded and private dead end road. We found the cabin to be very clean and well furnished with an airy master bedroom, large closet and bathroom. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, spices- everything you could need to prepare meals. And, there is a gas Weber grill on the deck! We spent hours on the deck enjoying the tranquil surroundings and comfy furniture. Thank you for the special touches provided- we hope to stay with you again!

Wonderful Stay

This property was perfect for our family. Everything we needed was provided and the owner was very responsive. Some of the things we loved: The adirondack chairs on the porch were lovely and we spend every night out there enjoying the evening. My daughter loved the big bears on the kids bed and slept with one on each side of her watching over her like sentries. There was a pack-and-play available for my youngest and the toys entertained both when the adults needed to do something else. The soaps in the bathrooms were great and having a stool in the main floor bathroom was just one of many little details that made our stay easier. We could have stayed another week and will definitely try to return.

Can’t wait until next time!

We hadn’t even left the property before our group began discussions of when we could go again. Wonderful cabin - it was super clean; very nicely decorated and comfortable; peaceful and quiet, but so close to Blowing Rock. Super accommodating and very responsive hosts…I could go on and on. When we walked into the cabin, we felt like we were at our own cabin in the mountains. Just wonderful…

Mountain Getaway

We had such a great time. The cabin was absolutely beautiful with nice stylish touches, lots of comfort, an extensive toy selection for our kids, and impressive entertainment options. Definitely won't disappoint. Also, the owners are very kind, replying to all of our concerns and questions quite quickly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a cabin in the Boone area.

A Dream Come True

This homey chalet was perfect! It exceeded my expectations. Cozy, beautiful with special touches everywhere. We especially enjoyed the deck surrounded by trees, birds and peaceful serenity. The comforters, towels, electronics, and amenities were like staying in a 5 star luxury hotel yet in the middle of the beautiful mountains. My dog absolutely loved being outdoors. The owner was very responsive…we loved it!

Amazing property great location

We came up for a weekend birthday celebration to go tubing. Property was clean and in a fantastic location. Well equipped with anything you needed. We enjoyed the separate living spaces and spent most time on the deck. Even a few rain showers but the trees above blocked most of that. Will definitely book again. We LOVED the sofa and leather chairs so very comfy reminded of us home.

Wonderful Mountain Retreat

We had a wonderful stay! The first words that escaped our mouths when we first walked in were "cozy" and "homey." Everything from the beds to the living furniture to the outside amenities are of high quality, clean and well taken care of. There are little personal touches throughout the home that help it stand apart including a marshmallow station for s'mores. Our two boys especially enjoyed the toys and games provided. Nestled among the trees, you feel like you're in a treehouse and hearing Tweetsie adds to that nostalgia. It's a peaceful, quiet surrounding that is perfect for a relaxing mountain getaway. If we don't find our own vacation house soon we'll definitely come back to this one!!

Great trip beautiful house

We loved staying at Parkway Hideaway! The location was really close to Blowing Rock and Boone and the house was wonderful The recent renovations were so nice and it had everything we needed. Our kids told us they wanted to move in! We really enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evenings and ate out there several nights. Brandon was really responsive if I had any questions. Highly recommend, we'll be back!

My wife and I live in Charlotte but, for a variety of reasons, were looking for a getaway in North Carolina’s High Country. We were ecstatic to purchase Parkway Hideaway in January of 2021. Following the purchase, we extensively renovated the chalet to reflect our preferences.

After looking at dozens of properties all around the High Country, we focused our search on the historic mountain town of Blowing Rock. We fell in love with the location of this home - it’s close proximity to both Blowing Rock and Boone means convenient access to stores and restaurants while in a remote-feeling environment and unlimited things to do outdoors!
