A little cozy place in downtown.

Getting checked in was simple. Although we arrived late we had no problem with getting in the place. Although the area has a shared kitchen and laundry area that is shared it is quiet and neat and orderly. The sleeping space was very comfortable and warm. The shower is a little small for a person of my size; 6 ft 4 in. All in all this apartment was a great place in a great location of Reykjavik.

It’s in a perfect location, right in the heart of a bustling neighborhood. The place itself is definitely quite small. It felt a little run down & pretty barebones. The floor is literally concrete. The laundry room was a jungle of random clothes hanging about and the dryer wasn’t too good at drying clothes.

Very happy with my decision. Extremely good location. Easy access to restaurants, supermarkets, souvenirs, 3 min to Cathedral on feet. The kitchen very good equipped. All was very clean. I definitely would choose it again for my next trip.

This apartment was clean and in a good location. The host was very accommodating and let us check in early. The space was not quite what I thought I was booking - as other reviews noted the listing is somewhat misleading. It is a private, locking room with an en suite, and a private kitchen, connected by a shared hallway. Very good for the location and the price but not quite what I had wanted.

Bathroom accommodations were tiny, parking was a nuisance ( paid with 3 hr max on the street). Clean. And I didn't come to hang in the room, so if you're the same, this is a great option.

Small bare essentials

If all you care about is a place to sleep that is walkable and easily accesses public transit, this is the place for you. Very easy to get around both on foot and by bus. Amenities are minimal, very small bathroom and kitchenette. Private bedroom and bathroom but the rest of the basement apartment is accessible by other tenants. You can hear the sounds of people upstairs throughout the day and night. The host was easily reachable via messaging on the app. Compared to the pricing of other stays, you are getting what you paid for with this small and inexpensive basement apartment that’s in an excellent location. One thing to note, the tap water and shower stink of sulfur. The taste from brushing your teeth lingers, we ended up brushing with bottled water.

Die Unterkunft liegt perfekt mitten in der Einkaufsstrasse und ist gut gelegen, um Reykjavik zu erkunden. Die Beschreibung zur Grösse passt. Was unangenehm war, ist die Lage des Zimmers in einem Kellerflur zwischer der vom Flur aus zu begehenden dazugehörigen Küche und der zum Haus gehörenden Waschküche sowie einem Bastelkeller. Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig, insofern ist diese Unterkunft nur für Menschen zu empfehlen, die keine Ruhepausen einplanen, was die Lage ja durchaus ermöglicht. Der Boden ist Kellerbeton, die Toilette wackelig, für einen kurzen Aufenthalt okay. Wenn das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis anders wäre, wären auch die nicht abschliessbare Kellereingangstür und die gebastelte Elekrik wahrscheinlich gut zu ignorieren gewesen. Die Unterkunft war sauber, Handtücher frisch und für kurze Aufenthalte durchaus okay.

This was not the apartment and the title is misleading. This is an En-suite BASEMENT ROOM. Shared not so clean hallway and tiny kitchenet. It's lucky that Reykjavik is a fairly safe place, but had I known this is not a self containt apartment- I would not have stayed here. On the positive side the room was clean and it is in a very good location.

First of all you really can't beat the location of this property. Within walking distance of bus station and all attractions or their pick-up points. Plenty of restaurants/ shops on your doorstep. The property could prob do with a womans touch on decor as it's very minimal/old but it was very clean and comfortable - could benefit from a small tv. Agree with other reviews that the advert is slightly misleading in that it's not really an apartment but a private room with ensuite. Useful having access to a fully equipped kitchenette but it's outside your locked room / accessible from hallway of which it's hard to say how many people have access to. Luckily we were out late as there was quite a lot of noise coming from upstairs (probably kids running across floor). Very smooth checking process. All in its prob the best you'll get for the price. Clean, comfortable and warm.

Clean good location

This a great and affordable place to stay in Reykjavik. The place was very clean and comfortable, and in a perfect location. However, I do think it is somewhat unethical to fail mention that guests are staying beneath an apartment building, and residents will regularly walk through unannounced to do their laundry. It made for an unsettling experience, which we eventually eased into once we got our heads around the situation. For this reason it is worth noting there is not a lot of privacy and it is a bit noisy in the evenings. We only stayed two nights which was fine. I don’t think I could stay a week here though.

It’s in a perfect location for staying in downtown Reykjavik. Everything you need is within walking distance. A bonus was that we were able to find a free parking spot by the church. The only negative was how shockingly warm it was in the room. When we arrived the windows were open and we had to leave them open the entire time.

Not what we expected

Sadly, although the manager was communicative and friendly, the apartment is not what is appears in the picture. It is a basement room in a house with many people. Noisy and very small. No amenities besides small bathroom. It was very sad. We had to spend our own extra money to stay at a hotel due to the policy of no refunds. Please change this policy to be more friendly!!

The room is in the basement, with the entrance from a back garden. Rhebfront door to the property does not lock, so anybody can come inside. The garden is really untidy with loads of old and rusty things. There is also a laundry room which is used by other dwellers all day long, including during the night - extremely loud! The location is excellent tho 👌.

This is a basement apartment in an older home, shared with the owner and other renters. The facilities are rustic, small, but adequate. It is a good value.

Mother daughter trip

Great location right in the heart of the city, the property had everything we needed and a warm bed to sleep in! Owner was very responsive to anything we needed while we were here. We were out and about most of the time and could pop in quite easliy if we needed to, highly recommend!

Perfect location

The property is on one of the main streets in the city and not far from the water. It is small like described. The check in process is very simple and I had no issues. I found the place to be clean. I would stay again

Was exactly what I needed for a few days, as I was delayed getting back to the US. It was a very small place in the basement of an apartment building. It was very clean. other tenants in the apartment would come down and use the laundry, so I kept my door closed. The kitchen is not connected to the room, but outside in the hallway, which was not a big deal. It was very noisy my first night there, very late, after midnight, there was a man in the apt above me yelling or just maybe talking very loud, banging things. But like I said for the price, you couldn't beat it. It was close to everything, and in a safe area.

Beschreibung entsprach Nicht dem Objekt

Wir haben für zwei Nächte gebucht. Rauchen war nicht erlaubt, für uns mit einer der Gründe, weshalb wir gebucht haben. In der Wohnung wurde jedoch definitiv geraucht. Der Vermieter zeigte sich sehr uneinsichtig, für uns war es ein NoGo. Die zweite Nacht haben wir abgebrochen, da zusätzlich die Lautstärke der oben Etage untragbar war. Offenbar gab es einen Streit. Wir haben dann die restlichen vier Stunden im Auto geschlafen. Außerdem war die Wohnung im Keller durch die ständig jemand gelaufen ist, um in den Waschkeller zu gelange Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend.
