Winter 2025-26 Rate Drop! 3BR/3.5BA beach escape - Dog Friendly!

Dunes Hideaway, a 3BR/3.5BA townhome with Gulf views, provides spacious living space and all the comforts of home for you and your guests. Each bedroom has its own private bath and private balcony, fresh linens, a TV and much more! The main level includes the family room, kitchen and dining area, and Smart TV. Enjoy breakfasts, lunches, and dinners on the large deck which provides lovely palm-tree lined gulf views. When you are ready to go to the beach, just grab your gear and take a quick walk on the path over the dunes and you are on the beach! When you return from the beach, use the outside shower or separate hose to rinse off before heading in for a refreshing beverage.

Dunes Hideaway is located in Barrier Dunes, a gated community on the North end of Cape San Blas. The Barrier Dunes community features two swimming pools (one Gulf front), pickleball/tennis courts, stocked freshwater fishing ponds, and a children's play area.

For the pet-lovers who choose to bring their pets, there are pet stations throughout the property to make it easy for you to pick up after your pet. There is an additional fee of $150 (non-refundable) if you decide to bring your dog and we allow a maximum of 2!

50% of balance due is due at booking and the remaining balance is due 60 days prior to check-in.
All reservations require sending in a copy of your government issued ID for age verification purposes.

Cape San Blas never disappoints

We love the small town! The townhouse was clean and is a great location. The property manager was wonderful. We would definitely rent again.

We had a wonderful time. The condo was well stocked and very clean. Any questions that we had, Stefanie answered quickly. We will definitely stay here again!

Perfect place to stay with kids and dogs!

Property was well maintained and leasing company responded immediately to us while we were there. Furnishings were clean and well maintained. Kitchen well stocked, towels in all bathrooms were big and fluffy. Access to beach very convenient. Nice extras like a large tent and chairs to use on the beach.

Vacation success

We had the best time. Great location the beach and the pool are just a short walk away which is perfect for little ones. Super helpful host. Anytime I had a question Stefanie was quick with a friendly helpful response. The house was perfect for the entire family with enough room to hang out together without being on top of one another.

We arrived to a dirty place and our air not working.

We did not have a good experience. Our House was dirty and ac did not work. They offered to move us further from the beach and after we had unloaded all of our things and hauled it up the stairs. They did send someone to clean the following morning but only cleaned the first floor and didn’t even wipe out the sink where dirty food was left from previous guest. We found contacts laying on the table, pubic hair all over the toilets, and dog hair everywhere including the beds. It was not a good experience.

❤️Barrier Dunes

We loved this property! Nice & comfortable. Close to beach. Had everything we needed except Wi-Fi didn’t work while we were there. So many beach toys, chairs, & umbrellas there to use- we really appreciated that. Had an amazing week!

The location of Dunes hideaway is wonderful! Stefanie and Deb were amazing with communication and very accommodating. We had a wonderful time and would rent the same unit again!

Love the cape

We had a great time at Barrier dunes, our favorite beach. Love that it's dog friendly and not crowded. This condo was nice. Only problem was it's not set up for much cooking. We like to cook but if that's not your thing everything else is good.

Great Family Getaway

Overall, this property met our needs very well. We loved the location within Barrier Dunes as it was close to beach & pool. It seemed a little bigger than the pictures, comfortable beds and nicely furnished. Deck was a nice size with plenty of chairs. Kitchen was adequate, but cabinets and appliances could be upgraded. Our grandsons loved the bunkbeds and the boogie boards! The biggest disappointment was that the beachfront pool was under repair. This was not mentioned in the VRBO listing and was one of the main draws to Barrier Dunes. They did have another pool which we used within the property which was nice and had shaded area. They did have a gas grill, however the tank ran out of gas shortly after lighting & it was too late in the evening/cooking process to do anything about that. The property manager was great to work with, especially regarding status of Hurricane Sally.

The unit was fine. It seems that the clientele at barrier dunes has deteriorated.

The rental procedure was great. Barrier dunes, in general, has deteriorated. I was upset when the ocean side pool was closed for repairs. Could have waited until later when fewer people there.

Make sure to bring mosquito spray

We enjoyed are stay the beach is great an house is nice. Its a short walk to the beach. The mosquitoes are very bad at night an made it hard to enjoy the outside at night without bug spray

Great location for a family beach trip!

Proximity the the beach is awesome. Great gated Dog-friendly community for a family trip (pools, fishing ponds & tennis courts are an added bonus). House was clean and had all of the kitchen amenities that we needed to cook 3 meals a day. The unit seems to be older and in need of some basic repairs/ upgrades. But we had a great time. The only issue was that after using the washer and dryer, our clothes smelled terrible. In saying that, we would stay there again!

Great Get-a-way in a hidden gated community. Good and secure.

Great place to stay with a large family. Very spacious with all of the comforts of home. Too many stairs though and some leaking of the roof was experienced in a sudden rain storm in one of the 3 bedrooms.

Beautiful condo!!

We love this condo, its so beautiful, relaxing and has everything you need for a good time on the beach! Its the best condo we have rented there and have rented it again for next year and hopefully many more years to come. Its also great to have Steffie and Bob who live right there manage it as if you need anything you just give them a call.

Nice place, few inconveniences

It is a beautiful beach, and we had a great stay. The condo is in mostly good shape. However, the washing machine is full of sand and doesn't wash well, and the dryer vent to the outside must be completely clogged as the dryer barely dries and no air comes through the outside vent when the dryer is on. It was pretty inconvenient to stay with two kids and have no way to wash clothes. The overall cleanliness was good, and we had most the supplies we needed, but there was no sponge or dishcloths we could find. The nearest grocery store is far, so again, not convenient to find out you have no sponge after you already went to the grocery store. The complex says one of the pools is heated, either the heat was not turned on yet (early October) or it was inadequately heated. We had a great relaxing stay though!
