SNOWMOBILERS, SKIERS, AND SNOW SHOERS..reserve your space early! We're in the snow belt and approx 1/4 mile from #7 trail for hikers and snowmobiles, as well as other trails and 1/2 mile from the Pigeon Forest Approximately 25 minutes from Boyne.. Plenty of room for your machine trailers. Spend the day enjoying the area during the day and your own bonfire in the evening in your own outdoor space.
This 1 bedroom upper apt sleeps 5 in 4 beds. A nice size full bath. The open concept LR/DR/complete kitchen is comfortable and has a great view overlooking acres of woods. Step out the door and enjoy your own balcony.
This location is within minutes of atv/orv, snowmobile or hiking trails, golfing, multiple inland lakes, rivers for tubing and kayaking and the Pigeon State Forest for hiking and horseback riding. You'll be within 10 minutes to Thumb Lake, 8 miles from Gaylord, 20 minutes to Burt Lake, a half hour to Petoskey, 45 minutes to Mackinaw.... just go in any direction for your next adventure or enjoy a peaceful evening around the fire and BBQing.
This unit is above the garage, so you will need to use stairs.

Owners are on the property, we have a black barn cat that is friendly that you may see or encounter, but, there's 40 acres and your privacy will be respected

A fun golf weekend!

This apartment was just as advertised - in an ideal location for us to spend a few days golfing in the Gaylord area. It was clean and comfortable and fully met all of our needs! We would happily stay again when we come back to visit!

Great base for snowmobile trip

Thoroughly enjoyed our time in this homey apartment. There is plenty of parking for our truck, trailer and sleds. Owners are very friendly and helpful

Mike and his buddy Bill were great guests! They were respectful of the rental and really enjoyed our surroundings and the opportunity to canoe the Sturgeon River. We would welcome them anytime they’d like to return . Highly recommend them as guests Hey guys, next time bring the ladies!!!

Couldn't have chose a better place to stay! We had a fire with wood that was provided, saw lots of shooting stars and enjoyed coffee on the balcony. The feeling was warm and welcoming. We will definitely stay again. Thank you for providing a great atmosphere!

Great location with amazing nature views

This is the second time I stay at the property. The house is surrounded by nature and centrally located. The house is very clean and comfortable. The communication with the owners is fantastic and they make sure you feel welcomed!

Summer vacation

Fritz and Pam were great hosts! Everything was clean and there were plenty of games to keep the kids occupied. Great location, very quiet. Pam helped with planning some of our day trips and suggested a few things we hadn't heard of. Great experience and we will be back!

Michigan Ski Trip

Visited Boyne Mountain and Nub’s Nob. Enjoyed the fresh snow and these two great resorts. The property was exactly as described and is situated in a quiet & rural area. 20 minutes from Boyne Mountain and about 40 to Nub’s. We will be back for our next ski visit.

Garage Apartment in Vanderbilt, MI

This location is centrally located to go anywhere in northern Michigan. The owners are very attentive and the woods and hiking opportunities are limitless. Would need to be able to climb steep stairs to the apartment.

Mini Vacay in the Woods

10 miles North of Gaylord, perfect location. Fully furnished apartment above the pole barn. Full use of the yard, picnic area and fire pit. Apartment had anything that you'd need, just pack your tooth brush. Apartment was clean, cozy, and comfortable. I highly recommend staying here. Golf Course and a Rail Trail for walking or bike riding, less than a mile down the road. Will stay again when in the area! Pam & Fritz have such a beautiful home, and are wonderful hosts.

The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and cozy. Apartment has everything you could need and even had snacks left out for us! Outside property is great, corn hole and firepit available for guest use. Location is perfect to go to nearby attractions (we went to Mackinaw Island, which was a 45 min drive). Most importantly, I felt very safe at the property, which was important as I am a single parent with 3 kids. Hosts were great, easy to communicate with, and quick to respond. Would highly recommend this apartment and would most definitely stay again if in the area.

2nd Honeymoon Week

My husband and I stayed here for a week while our children (ages 8 & 11) went to camp nearby. Pam and Fritz are amazing, wonderful, and thoughtful hosts! The apartment is nothing fancy, but had everything we needed to make our week fabulous. We have not been 'kid free' in 11 years so this was like a 2nd Honeymoon week for us.Vanderbilt is centrally located in northern MI and we were able to take day trips each day to explore a new town. Pam invited us to play Bingo on Wednesday night and it was a hoot. I highly recommend staying here whether you are a couple or a family, there were enough beds to sleep 5 comfortably. The place was quiet which allowed us to get a good nights rest. Thank you Pam & Fritz! We will be back :)

Well appointed and spacious

This was by far the best stocked and thought out VRBO we have stayed at. Extremely clean, everything we needed and then some. Even had snacks on our arrival. There is a queen bed and three twins in the bedroom which provided ample room and comfortable sleeping arrangements for our family. A dishwasher, washer and dryer, toaster, can opener.... all of the things others seem to be lacking... were all present! Very peaceful and beautiful property that was an easy jumping off point for Sleeping Bear Dunes, Petoskey, Charlevoix, Macinac, and Lake Michigan. We really enjoyed looking for stones at the beach. Pam ensured we were comfortable and even had games for the kiddos. Fritz set up a corn hole toss that our family thoroughly enjoyed. We didn't get to use the fire pit as we had hoped, but it was ready to go with kindling, firewood and matches nearby. Sheltered picnic area and tabletop grill were also provided. We would highly recommend their VRBO. Also, if you are using Google to navigate, it stops just short of their road. Go to the next dirt road on your left and it's the first house on the left. Signs point you to a nice shaded parking area just to the left of the cottage.
