This is a beautiful waterfront house on the east end of Dauphin Island! Newly updated 4 bedrooms/ 2 1/2 bath house plus bunk room. This house offers 2 dens and a sunroom. The water is deep enough that you can pull up your boat to the 2 wet slips off the dock. A boat launch is less than a mile away. Also, there is a beach right next to the house for easy access for kids to play! Bring your boat, kayaks, and fishing poles! Come relax and have fun!

It was a very nice place with beautiful scenery. Would have been nice to have more toilet paper. 8 women and 3 rolls of toilet paper was not enough. I had to purchase some more.

We frequent this property because of its convenience for us, living close by. It’s the perfect place for a quick “weekend getaway”. And the kids enjoy it too! We like the available occupancy- location- and because it’s not a typical beach house on stilts. We have tried staying at other places on the island, but come back to this one!

Beautiful Retreat!

Such a quiet home, very clean and peaceful. Well stocked kitchen for what we needed to cook when we didn’t eat out and enjoy fresh seafood! The water is so peaceful on this waterway court. Can’t wait to come back again!!

Big house on the Bay

The house was very roomy and perfect spot on the Bay for Hermit Crab hunting and ‘trying’ to catch fish…lol. Nice little beach area right at the house for kids to swim and play at. I would have given 5 stars but the air didn’t work very well and the only rooms with ceiling fans, the fans did not work. We didn’t sleep well due to being hot, however we do like a very cool climate hence why we go in April. Also, there is plenty of lots and pans but a variety of utensils there is not. We had to buy a slotted spoon to deep fry shrimp and a pizza cutter for pizza night. The boat dock light did not work for us either which wasn’t to big a deal, there were lights in the shed. We did go expecting to be able to grill out, but the grill was in to bad a shape to mess with so we ended up having to cook Burgers and Hotdogs inside. There is an outside shower to wash all your sand off which was amazing. Also a nice little sunroom to sit and look at the bay while chatting with people in the kitchen. Washing Machine and Dryer worked great, which was a life saver. The Doc was in good shape, with good chairs and pretty easy to let the little run around on without worrying they’d fall in. So over all it was a great family vacation and we enjoyed the house.

Nice house, not a great experience

The house was a good size, had plenty of sleeping space, and was in a nice location; however that’s the only good thing I have to say. I don’t book Vrbo much, but I wouldn’t have thought I would need to buy toilet paper and trash bags for just one night of stay - I get needing to get your own for extended periods, but you would think there would at least be one roll provided for each bathroom and a trash bag in all of the trash cans minimum. The cleanliness of the house was also a not great. It seemed ok at first glance, but there were certain things I noticed as our time there went on. There was a half-drunk can of Dr Pepper left in one of the showers. When I went to load the dishwasher there were already dishes in it that didn’t look like they had been through a cycle. In my bed I found long hairs under the covers and a blood stain on one of the pillow cases. This was all things not noticed immediately, but left me with an icky feeling after spotting them. And finally, the water to the house was shut off upon arrival. To the owner’s credit, they did message me around check-in time mentioning they remembered they left it shut off due to the freezing temps. They did not give very much effort to explain exactly what was needed to fix it, nor did they follow up after I sent 4 messages asking for help. The instructions were so vague we spent almost an hour looking for the meter, and could never find the tool to flip it on. We finally got it on with a personal pair of pliars.

Relaxing and Quiet Fishing Spot

Beautiful home that is well maintained and recently upgraded with some features. Very quiet inside. Very quiet outside in the off season. Can’t wait to come back next off season.

Calm & relaxing by the bay VRBO

Spacious clean house with great kitchen. Enjoyed the wonderful dock for morning coffee and afternoon reading by the bay. Quiet neighborhood for morning walks. Overall a great rental.

Communication Needs Work

The house was great! There were a bunch of loose tiles in the hallway, some urine stains on the curtains, and there wasn’t enough toilet paper in the house. Everything was perfect! The WiFi information wasn’t provided. I reached out to the owners a few times for different things, only received a (delayed) response for one item.

Perfect place to relax

Lovely house, very comfortable. We spent so much time on the dock enjoying March weather. Lots of room for a large group with terrific reading areas, comfortable places to relax inside and out. Would definitely stay here again

Family getaways

Nice quiet location, fishing was not good but dredging work was being done to the entrance of our Bay Area, thinking this probably messed up the fishing. There was also crab baskets in the water and we did catch one crab. Need a sign on the refrigerator/freezer “NO FISH IN THE FRIG OR FREEZER” Take some baking soda with you.

Great property-

As always- wonderful location and facility. We always enjoy our stay here. A lot quieter than Orange Beach, AL- where we work. Dauphin Island is more like Gulf Shores many many years ago. You might have to do without some conveniences you are used to in the bustling tourist town- but the laid back and quiet community more than makes up for it! Not to say there’s nothing to do here- you have the Sea Lab, Ft Gaines, nature walks, beaches and more! Good food like Lighthouse Bakery, Pirates Bar and Grill, Pirates Pizza- etc. Come explore for yourself!!

Ready to return!

We LOVED this property! For us, we prefer fishing over beach so the location on the bay was absolutely perfect. It was well appointed with everything we needed and then some, including a dock, 2 boat slips and a KillerDocs fish cleaning station. One of the best things about the house is the layout. I sat and enjoyed my coffee and watched the bay every morning from the sun room while the boys went out fishing. If you are a group that has a family with smaller kids, the King Suite with the attached bunk room is perfect for them! For us, we had Teen Boys with us, so we “sacrificed” the king suite to them and it was the BEST decision, they could night fish and come and go through the in room doors to the backyard/dock or sit and play video games on the the TV and PlayStation they brought all night and us old folks NEVER heard them from the bedrooms on the other end of the house! I can definitely see us returning to this property for years to come!!

Quiet residential area, great for walking and bike riding

We stayed for one week, and literally only went to the beach once. It was so convenient for the boys to walk out the back door, onto the dock for fishing and crabbing adventures. Swimming and exploring at the little sandy beach took up hours each day. The house was very roomy, we loved that we could each escape to our own rooms if we needed privacy. The kitchen was great for preparing large meals, and the beds and furniture were so cozy.

Outstanding Location!!

The location of this property couldn't have been better for our family's spring break vacation. The property has lots of room, a fishing dock immediately behind the house and a small public beach area (perfect for the younger kids) on the lot next door. Upon arrival, we were a bit dismayed by the lack of cleaning detail. Our communication with the host/owner was easy and well received. One of those situations where the cleaning contractor had not been closely monitored and had allowed things to slip. We would, however, definitely consider this property again on a future trip to the island. One point to be aware of for anyone flying their own plane to the island: There is "NO" transportation available from the airport "4R9" to town, so be sure to figure out and make arrangements for some kind of transportation prior to arrival. We were extremely lucky in that a local "Airport Bum" happened to be out watching a landing plane and offered us transportation. Along this same vein, the island is inhabited by some incredibly welcoming and gracious people. Literally everyone we met was incredible. Can't recommend Dauphin Island highly enough. "We Will Be Back"

Great location and Accessible!

My family, other family members and I stayed at this beautiful house! We greatly enjoyed our stay! My 8-year-old daughter uses a power wheelchair and was super excited about the house being single level and her being able to access the house! The master bathroom is big enough that she was able to fit her power wheelchair and that and having close access to the beach made our trip and stay memorable and amazing! We were a group of 10 and had plenty of space in the house. We also enjoyed having close access to the many amazing restaurants on the island! Our host, Stacey, made sure we had everything we needed and communicating with her was very easy!

Great place to stay and bring your boat

Great location right near the inlet, very big and plenty of room for a big group. Owners were awesome and very very accommodating to our needs! We will be back next year for sure!
